From the road the park does not look like much, but once inside it is very expansive host any type of camping you desire. It is adjacent to the Dolores River and also has two small ponds between sites and the river. Staff is very friendly and they keep the CG spotless. My only gripe is that the gravel site for the RV is very narrow, but my rig fits. Nice quiet park and I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very scenic place. There are 2 ponds just off the river. You cross a bridge between the ponds to get to the path that goes along the river. The people are very friendly. It is quiet and relaxing. They have a ice cream social, pizza night and other various events during the week. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 1 week in a premium waterfront site. Our site was definitely long enough but looked a bit narrow. We were a little worried about our slide hitting the tree or the power post but it was just fine. Also, the site was much more level than it appeared by just looking at it. Our only real concern was that we shared the driveway with the site next to us, but luckily all of our neighbors had shorter rv's so we didn't need to move our truck. The sewer connection was more towards the front, so we did need extra hose to reach. As other have mentioned, the water pressure was really low at times, but ok for the most part. We didn't have any issues connecting to the wifi from our site and the connection was good the entire time. We didn't try streaming anything, but it was good enough to upload pictures to facebook. There are some really nice trails to ride your bike or walk the dog. Overall, this is a really nice park and we can't wait to go back. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was our third year at this campground and this time we stayed for nine days. Family owned and operated with the aid of some work campers, they are constantly making improvement to their facility. They have both pull through and back in sites with 30 and 50 AMP service. Some of the pull through sites are siamezed sites so campers are business side to business side. This means that you do not open your door to your neighbors sewer connection. Very thoughtful! In addition to camper sites, they have family and couples cabins. They rent yurts and even Conestoga wagons for sleeping. All of the sites we have had were level or required minimal leveling. There are ponds for fishing (no license needed) a playground for the kids and their laundry was excellent with new commercial type machines. They do a good job of spreading out their guests to afford them as much room as they can. Lots can range from open to shaded depending on your needs. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Overall this a very nice campground right by the Delores River. Very nice courtyard with large fire pit for get togethers and very large clubhouse with kitchen also. The owners are a delight to deal with and will help you any way they can. Restrooms remodeled this year and are very nice and up to date. Some of the best I have seen. The camp store is well stocked with a lot of different items that would be of interest. Very family oriented campground. We were there over Labor Day weekend and the owners put on a pig roast with the guest bringing side dishes and it was excellent and is done every year. They also have people that come into the park once a week on different days for wood fired pizza and gyro type food and they are both excellent too. Depending on what part of the park you are in some of the sites are a little close together while others have plenty of room. The owners have a nine year old son that makes fire starters and sells them for twenty five cents each and they work really good. If there is one drawback to this park it is the water pressure which was very low but that may be due to the dry weather in the area this year. The owners live on site year round and maintain the park in excellent condition. We will definitely stay here again when in the area. This is the best park in the town of Delores. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the prettiest campgrounds we have stayed in. Lots of shade! Some sites are along the river. Some are near one of the two large ponds on the property. Extremely clean & well maintained. Service was outstanding. Food trucks came into the park two nights of week for those wishing to partake. Ice cream social every week. Very nice, large clubhouse for cards/TV/games etc. A slab patio at each site. Hookups were fine. A bit buggy with flies and skeeters. 10 mile drive into town for goods & services. Poor internet whether using the campground's service or private Verizon. Poor phone reception as well. Library in Dolores as a good connection. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Groceries nearby in Dolores and Cortez. Take advantage of food trucks, brick oven pizza and ice cream night on-site. Such a neat idea and very good.

Lovely tree covered park with nice, long pull-thrus and wide back-ins. Right on the Delores River. Staff was very nice and very helpful. Very quiet at night with some traffic noise during the day. Site 61 has sewer and water on the driver side of the rig. Power is on the other side, so had to take power cable under the rear end of the RV and hook up. Worked fine, but only had about 3 inches to spare. Office said they have extra cords if you need more length. Hard to clean out the sewer due to very low water pressure. Seemed to be good in the laundry room, so maybe it was just this site. Local Wi-Fi was good. I couldn't get my Verizon to work there. Pizza on Wednesday's, Ice Cream Sundaes on Saturday, and a lady comes in on Sunday night with homemade Gyros and Baklava that is wonderful. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Probably the nicest campground that we have stayed at. True pride of ownership. Great location on river and about an hours drive to Telluride. Nicest bathrooms anywhere, granate counters, spacious showers and the woodwork was a piece of art. Can't say enough good things about this place. Stayed here for 11 days in late June/early July. Nice campground in a good location for sightseeing the area. Good WiFi except on weekends. We had a lot of shade and that was appreciated due to the heat! Owners and work campers are very pleasant. Weekly ice cream social and Wednesday Pizza Nights were terrific. Laundry facilities were great, $1.50 for washer/dryer that held 2 loads. The campground sponsored a 4th of July potluck and they supplied grilled burgers and hot dogs. Everyone enjoyed the potluck! The negative for us was the road noise. It starts early and lasts late. Other than the road noise, we enjoyed the park. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in 37 foot motor home for 14 nights. Access to site was good, with help backing in. Highway noise during the day, but very little at night. Cable TV reception good only in early a.m. and very late p.m. Internet (Wi-Fi) was decent except on weekends. Water pressure is low most of the time. Grounds and facilities kept clean and well maintained. Owners and staff very friendly and hard working. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

We have been repeat campers for years. The owners are the most dedicated devoted hosts we have ever experienced in all our years of staying at RV camps, parks, resorts in the USA! They will exceed your expectations! Every time we visit, there are always something newly renovated, recently the bathrooms. As I was doing laundry, a first time guest commented how she always wears shower shoes, but not here! Makes a profound statement! Plus Dolores is a perfect "Hub" where you can plan day trips to Telluride, Pagosa Springs, Durango, and more. Fishing and lakes nearby. Perfect RV spot! You must travel in the fall to see the fall foliage! Beautiful! If we had grandkids, we would have annual gatherings here for sure! We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay right on the Dolores River. The bathrooms have just been remodeled. The owners go out of their was to make your stay pleasant. We liked it so much that we made a reservation for a month next summer. The only negative is that they need to enforce the 5 MPH speed limit. People tend to pick up speed driving through the campground on their way to the cabin & tenting area. We camped at Dolores River Campground in a Motorhome.

Lots to see and do in the area. Not far from Mesa Verde NP, San Juan Forest, Telluride, or just hanging out on the Dolores River kayaking or fishing. McPhee Reservoir near by to do fishing and boating. Fun area to be in. Also near Trail of the Ancients and Hovenweep.

A nice park about a mile outside of Dolores and right along the river. We had a very nice back in site right along the river. The park is well maintained and they appeared to be doing more work. I should note that they are currently working on the main bathrooms for the campground so they were not available. We would definitely stay again.
