We originally had planned to stay 3 nights, but had to reschedule due to the 416 fire in Durango. Called to make the change and the owner was most accommodating and helpful in making the change. The park is newly opened after having been converted from a mobile home park. All mobile homes are gone leaving large, well separated and mature sites. Our site was easily 100+ feet and quite level. Spaces are mostly n/s oriented so great sattalite reception as well as excellent Verizon coverage. Close to Hovenweep and Canyons of the Ancients National Monuments. Would certainly stay there again. We camped in a 44 foot motorhome. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Spacious and quiet RV park within 6 miles of Dolores and less than 10 miles from Cortez. About 3 miles from the Anazazi Heritage Museum and Visitor's Center of the Canyon of the Ancients NM. Picturesque and scenic area and on the highway to Telluride and Ouray which avoids the twisty, narrow, steep and white-knuckle Million Dollar Highway/US550 from Durango to Ouray.

This is a lovely park and depending on where your site is, your views can be phenomenal! Our site was mostly level, the park was very clean the the owners took customer service to a new level, even hand delivering our packages that had arrived in the mail that day. It's close to the McPhee Reservoir and the Anastasi Vistor's Center. Not too far from Cortez (about 15 minutes). We would stay here again! We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here towards the end of our 32 day rv trip. All the sites are gravel and very level. We had spot 8 - a very large back in spot. It was hot in Colorado this time of year, but because the campground is on a hill, there was a nice breeze. The owner and camp hosts were both very friendly and helpful. We had plans to visit the Canyon of the Ancients and Mesa Verde which are both very close. But I sprained an ankle and couldn't walk, so we cancelled that. If coming back through this area, I'd stay here again. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice folks who own the campground as well as the hosts. New bathhouse and laundry. Very quiet at night. I would choose a site in the inner lower loop. They have trees and appear to be more level. Prices are high for what you get, but that seems to be typical for Colorado. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

In typical RV park fashion, the sites were very close together, but with the park largely empty during our stay, that was not a problem. Sites are gravel and ours was long and reasonably level. Restrooms were clean, but the shower stalls are a bit tight and need more hooks. Good Verizon cell coverage here. Owners are friendly and helpful. No fire pits or grills at most sites. Good location with easy entry. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Top up with fuel in Cortez where it's 10 cents a gallon cheaper than around Dolores. Shell station next to Walmart sells propane, but there's limited parking for big rigs. The Views will begin selling propane when they get their tank set up.

Overall Rating:

We spent 5 days at this park in early October. It is one of those RV parks that manages to feel like a campground rather than a typical RV park, which is fine with us. We stayed in one of the longest sites we have ever parked. It was unlevel, but the views were great and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners are new and are really working to upgrade and make it very nice. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

So much to do in the area. Hovenweep National Monument and the Lowry Pueblo are very interesting. Close to Mesa Verde National Park and a 90 minute beautiful drive to Telluride is well worth the trip.

Overall Rating:

Stayed in sight 40 with rear window facing Mesa Verde and Sleeping Ute Mountain. In the distance were the Four Corners. This was an exceptionally long site with new utility hook ups and lots of space to spread out in the Pine trees and enjoy the views. This is the first year for the new ownership and they have invested in new showers and bathrooms, pull thru sites, laundery room and more. Great people with super good service. Close to Mesa Verde NP (20 min) and Sleeping Ute Mountain Casino (20 min). McPhee Reservoir is right across the street with a full marina and a viewpoint not to miss. Couple of miles to Dolores with antique stores and restaurants. Internet is spotty. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at The Views RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
