We had a level, gravel, pull through, FHU site with cable TV. There are 2 bath/laundry houses but I am not sure that these are adequate for a when a park with non sewer sites and cabins is full. The park was nowhere near full, so we had no problem doing our e-mail and web surfing on their Wi-Fi. I saw no recycling. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night here. Our site was unlevel and the only good thing about it was the patio and furniture. Better have an extra long water hose to hook up to water. WiFi was weak. The overall arrangement of the park was weird. When we pulled to the front to hook up our Jeep to leave, my husband was chewed out for not contacting the office for an escort out because of some low wire. Was told it was on the receipt which we did not even read. Should have told us when we checked in. Will not be returning here. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

We called and they had only a few back-in sites available so we took one of them. It worked out fine. We looked for a place with cable as we wanted to watch the football game but they didn't include NFL Network so we went to town and watched the game in Digs, which was very nice and accommodating. The site was level and easy to back into. Facilities were fine. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We got one of the sites with no sewer hookup. It was pretty nice but not wide enough to get our awning out all the way because of trees. It is well staffed with friendly people. Our last night before we moved on we tried the pizza they have in the office. It was delivered to our site. It was decent. We camped at Durango KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Top notch KOA. Staff very helpful. Has propane fill station, store, breakfast and at night, pizza. Well kept grounds, utilities all good. Free and clean showers. Short drive to town, right off hwy but limited noise. Cable was good, so was the wifi. Would stay again. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

One of the better KOAs I've stayed at. The customer service and extra amenities (meals, snacks, movies, and the like) were exceptional. It looks like a great place for family vacations. The site was nice enough, very level, nicely landscaped and not super close to the neighbors. The park is a little dusty and run down around the edges, but the utilities and amenities are in good condition. The location is not the greatest for those who like to be able to walk or bike through the local area - there is no where to go but the highway. Nevertheless, its only a few miles drive into town. Nice selection of cable channels. Verizon worked great. Wifi was poor. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park that appeals to both young families and couples like ourselves. Compared to many, it is a relatively quiet park even on the weekend when nearly every site was taken. Our premium site was attractively landscaped and was more than long enough for our 40' MH and our toad. We had a table and four chairs, a fire pit and a charcoal grill. The roads are gravel and the sites are a thin layer of gravel on dirt. If this bothers because your shiny MH is getting dusty then you probably shouldn't be in this part of the US. The sites aren't perfectly level, but they're close enough that we could easily get ourselves level. One nice thing about the park is that different types of sites are scattered throughout; there isn't just one area for tenting and one for full-hookups, etc. There are lots of amenities such as a weekend snack bar and movies that we didn't avail ourselves of, but many others will enjoy them. The staff were very friendly. We stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed it immensely. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There's lots of tourist stuff in Durango, along with the Durango-Silverton railroad. Durango is also very convenient for seeing Mesa Verde, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, Chimney Rock, and more.

We had a pull through site with a nice patio and table and chairs. The camp store, laundry facilities swimming pool and playground were all well maintained and clean. The camp store was reasonably priced and offered video rental. There was also a movie night while we were there that was fun for our daughter. It was raining during our stay. I am not sure about a fire ring, but our patio furniture were very nice. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Our trip was during the fires and heavy rain. Our activities were canceled due to the fires. We did, however, spend some time on the Durango main street and the Saturday, farmer's market. The people were very friendly and the streets clean.

We have stayed in a number of KOA's and this one was one of the better ones. We had a premium site (Pull thru, 50 amp) right on the creek. The sites could have easily been made more level, but they were level enough. The pizza from the store was made to order and delivered to our spot. It was very convenient and also delicious. There were many things for the kids to do. Pool, mini golf, explore the creek, look in the store etc. On our site the sewer connection ran slightly up hill which was too bad. Overall had a great time and will be back again. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a motorhome on a premium site you are advised to call them so they can lead you on a very circuitous path out on a very narrow one way road.. They did lead us out, but I think we could have found a much shorter way out with our 45' motorhome.

We really enjoyed this park as a base camp for our day trips in the Durango area. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. Our site was on a hill in the back of the campground away from it all. We really enjoyed the homemade pizza delivered to our campsite and the dessert bar with ice cream and pie. Our daughter loved the playground, rubber duck race and mini golf. They also offer the following (which we didn't get to try): pool, nightly movies and pancake breakfast. Our only complaint was the wifi; it worked at our site late one night, but the rest of the time we had to go to the store to use it. We camped at Durango KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We are here staying for one of our two night stay. I am honestly very surprised with the satisfaction of other campers here. We are traveling with three families and are quite disappointed with this stop. We entered the campground and parked to the left of the office to check in. We had to disconnect because they required us to go right to access our site and there are no areas to turn around. There are roads throughout the campground but most are only passable by car. However, staff was friendly and led us to our site. There's a playground, heated pool, rec room, outdoor movie and pizza (that sells out every night). No swimming in creek. The area is just gorgeous and this place is an armpit. Our campsites are on a creek (which usually I would love) but also facing resident's backyards. Feels like there are quite a few full-timers here. Wouldn't let my kids roam without supervision. We camp a lot. This place isn't for us. Honestly, heartbroken that we are stuck here another night. Really wishing we stayed elsewhere. If we can get our money back for tomorrow I think we'll ask the hubbies to relocate. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 2'x on way to Moab in June and back again in July heading to Pagosa Springs, parked in sites 45 & 200 both pull thru's premium sites. Easy in and out off us160 about 8 miles west of town. Check in staff wonderful. Can be a zoo on a holiday with many families, kids and traffic. We preferred site 200, but trees blocked Direct tv but cable worked fabulous. Strong wifi and 50 amps.

Some sites they will come and escort you out to front exit due to sometimes traffic jams. But nice staff to help. We camped at Durango KOA in a Motorhome.

Many pull thru sites have ground cover bushes, reducing the usable space to a very small area. With the slides out we had to walk in the bushes. Lots are mostly shady, gravel and feature a picnic table. We camped at Durango KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
