This was our third time to stay at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park. We absolutely adore the Animas River which runs along side of the park. While we were not able to get a riverside site this time, we still took in the view of the river from the deck that sits out into the river. It is really beautiful. This is a commercial park, so expect the sites to be about 25'x60'. The park is well maintained and offers a pool, laundry, ice cream hut, store, and gathering places such as the river deck and a lovely deck outside the office. Roads and sites are all gravel and easy to traverse even for large rigs. Our site was fairly level, only requiring a little assistance from us. The utilities, including the tv cable were in great working order. Cell phone and hot spot access can be a bit sketchy in the park. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is 10 miles north of Durango and on the San Juan Skyway/Million Dollar Highway. A Beautiful drive all the way to Ouray - but very steep and many curves. It is fine in a truck or a tow vehicle, but sketchy for a large rig to maneuver.

We pulled in after dark, the spots are a little tight and the drives harder to navigate in the dark. The premium sites are fronting on the beautiful Durango River, but unless you are in one of those sites, you can't really see the river; we could hear it. The bathrooms are very basic and were not close to our site. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

NO WIFI at all. Couldn't connect over 3 days, so don't know how fast it would be if you could connect. Strange, but I could connect my phone tho. My computers work everywhere else. Also, there are only about 10 pull thru sites that can accommodate a 38 to 40 foot fifth wheel. We had a back in site with no shade and the sewer is about 15 to 20 feet away from the center of the rig where my pipe comes out. Actually most sites are a long stretch. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice campground. You have a great view of the river which is very swift so don't plan on using it to swim in. Access to the river near site 17 is a gradual slope which becomes a large drop off by the time you reach site 1 and the cabins along the river. Be aware many of the sites are very close together. Site 1 has an untrimmed tree which will not allow you to park on one side of your site if you have a slide out. If you are traveling with a trailer the hookup for sewer is in the middle of your site, which often means emptying tanks up hill. The sites are fairly level from side to side but do plan to use a lot of leveling blocks to level front to back. The pool is great for younger kids just learning to swim. The shallow end is only 3 feet and my 5 year old could easily stand up. The campground is clean and the laundry facility is large with only a few machines out of order. The kids park is well maintained, clean, and the equipment is sturdy. WiFi at the campground is good but can be slow during peak usage. Our AT&T cell services were spotty at best, going from LTE to no service at any moment. There is an ice cream stand which is only open on the weekends depending on staff size. Don't forget this is Colorado and you may have neighbors smoking pot next to you. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Good: right on river. Out of town and quiet. Bad: Uneven sites, hard to level. Upon check-in lady was extremely nice and helpful. Next day had an issue with ants and different lady behind counter could care less. Speaking of ants: all over the place. A real problem and when I inquired if they sold ant spray she did not know. No help there. Did some laundry and half the machines are out of service. Unhelpful lady at front counter did not have change (the change machine in laundry was out of coins). Too many other good choices in the area. We will not return. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Good, clean park with lots of trees and shade. Its close enough to Durango for easy access to the Silverton Train but far enough out of town to avoid the traffic and people unless you need supplies. We really enjoyed backing up to the creek with a nice view of the mountains. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Watch for the RV Park on the right and down the hill right after the first curve. Our Garmin told us to turn left and did not identify the park soon enough.

Stayed in a river site. A bit expensive but great views. Spaces are tight. Neighbor's sewer close to our picnic table. Staff was friendly and helpful.

No problems with the park, but the parents that don't control their kids can be a problem with 6 or 8 screaming kids running through our site to get to the river. Our kids were taught better. Might come back during off season when less crowded. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Have stayed in this park off and on for the past 5 years. Most expensive park we stay in. Wi-Fi is available...............but was never able to get on because the speed was so slow. The management doesn't seem to care about it.

On the other hand, the park was clean, as always. The park is typically very quiet at night. Park roads are well maintained. Pets are welcome, but an additional pet charge is added. Sites are well marked but kind of close together.

We won't ever be staying here again. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Only thing this park could do better would be to have an off leash fenced in dog run. Gorgeous park, right on the river with views of huge mountains on two sides. Lots of mature trees. Some sites are wide but some are not. Very clean park. Very good hookups. Lanes and sites are gravel. No fenced in dog run. Multiple WIFI repeaters and if you are close to one you get pretty good WIFI. Very pretty pool and nice kids playground. They have 3 different sizes of beautiful log cabins and a huge yurt plus two very sophisticated modern "tiny houses" for rent. Park is about 13 miles north of town. Park is very quiet. Town of Durango is darling, very historic, with lots of shops and cafes. Good grocery stores. The staff are wonderful. We loved Durango and this RV park and cannot wait to return. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here the weekend of 8.19.16 and was told we would receive a 10% Veterans Discount and have not heard anything from them and have called them numerous times. Even their employee said we were entitled to the discount. The other employee is rude and unaccommodating to say the least. If your unit is not new and over 30 ft you do not warrant a premium site. The site are small and tight and Wifi is horrible...will not stay here again. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is the second time we have stayed at this park. This time we felt like park was a little neglected maybe because towards the end of their season. Especially felt like some of the staff could careless if you were happy or not. I could not believe that an escort would allow someone to park their motorhome in the site next to you at an angle where the butt of the motorhome was in your living room window. We both paid for a premium site and both sites had ample room for the motorhome to back in straight. When mentioned to the lady at the front desk she came to site and agreed that should not have happened, but nothing was done....you pay that kind of money for a site you should not have someone in your face. Utilities were fine, and laundry room clean. Some sites are very close and tight to get into saw several people having trouble. Access to the river is not easy and cannot be accessed from waterfront RV sites. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Not happy with this park at all. The so called fire pits are next to your vehicle's gas tank. Dangerous. Your picnic table is right next to the neighbors sewer dump. Spaces are so tight you can hear everything your neighbor is doing. There are kids running all around screaming and playing and if you want to go to sleep before ten o'clock forget about it. Too noisy. Would never stay here again. What a rip off for more than $50.00 a night. If you want to leave early they will not refund any of your money. I guess too many people wanted to leave early because of the unpleasant campground. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Amazing RV park with great amenities! Great views of the Animas River and the valley! The sites are a little close and there are a lot of RVs coming in and out, but the park was worth the minor inconveniences. The park's location is perfect, in the heart of everything you'd want to do in and around Durango (Mesa Verde, Silverton, Four Corners, Navajo Reservoir, etc, etc).

Avoid site 31. It's at the end of the loop and nearly all RV have to pass it (most driver's take the turn too tight and nearly hit the RVs and/or tow vehicle parked in site 31). We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Nice friendly staff. Location is quite a bit north of Durango but is along the river and has very little traffic noise. My only criticism is that if you get a standard site they are REALLY close together. The next time I stay I will get either a premium or river view site. Best park we've stayed at so far. Staff was exceedingly warm and friendly, maintenance of all facilities was impeccable. Beautiful setting that was like being at summer camp as a kid: ice cream stand, outdoor movie deck, indoor community area for cards/games, super nice store, clean 24 hour laundry, FAST wifi. Wish the areas around the sites were completely gravel as the dirt/mud was messy. Silly $5.00 one time pet fee. We camped at Durango Riverside Resort & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
