Pulled in on Thanksgiving Day; no one was around. Phone didn't even work; tried to call and got disconnected. The other reviewers are right, it's pretty much of a dump with long-termers that looked like oil field workers. As it's the only park in town open during the winter, I went on to the next town. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed at Durango RV park for four different summer vacations from 2001 to 2010, and it's always good to return to a safe familiar place. It's like our home away from home. We tow our Jeep and take full advantage of the trails and views within our daily range. We have enjoyed the scenery on US-550 dozens of times to Silverton and Ouray and if you're really brave, don't miss the Alpine loop. If you're really really brave, test your Jeep's endurance and driving skills from Telluride over Imogene Pass to Ouray. Enjoy the scenic trails in LaPlata Canyon. Visit the Telluride hydro plant and the Ames or Ouray hydro plants. At the end of the day, have dinner at the Silverton Brown Bear or the dozens of restaurants in Durango. Durango RV Park has lots with trees and shade and a mountain view where you can see the weather conditions all the way to Engineer Mountain. Your camp site is a private and quiet place where you can enjoy your lawn chairs with no bugs and no smoke from campfires. Enjoy the hummingbirds, flowers, farm, mining and industrial antiques at an old-iron lover's paradise. Easy access to shopping at Aztec, Farmington, Cortez, Durango, Bayfield or Ignatio. It's in the middle of it all with low monthly rates, friendly hosts, an easy path to DirecTV or Dish Network, DSL phone connections, laundry and mail. If you are into skiing or other winter fun, they are open all year. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park, unfortunately, didn't live up to expectations from previous reviews and from their website. We were taken back by the appearance as we drove in. We thought we had pulled into a junkyard at first, only to find out this was indeed the park. To be fair, there are two entrances, and the north entrance is the one I'm referring to. The south entrance takes you through a "nicer" part of the park. Many permanent residents, and several were in rather old dilapidated trailers. We had to back into our site and our back window overlooked several rusted out 1940's vintage farm trucks and tractors (30 feet away) with grass overgrown around them. There are no bathrooms, showers or laundry here. There also is some kind of oil field facility across the road that runs all night and sounds like a train engine. Very noisy and didn't get much sleep because of it. On the positive side, the owner is very friendly, the sites were level, power good(50 amps). However the water pressure was pretty low. I had to remove my pressure regulator to get what little pressure they did have. Lots of trees, but the sites are pretty close together. In addition, you are almost 15 miles from Durango, so if you're looking to do anything in this part of the state, you're going to have to drive. Next time, we'll spend a little more money to get in Durango, and not having to drive back and forth will probably save money. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice, reasonably priced park. The owners are very nice and accommodating. This is definitely a no-frills park, but the location is convenient, and the price is right! They are open year 'round, so this is a good place to stay when you are skiing at Purgatory. The park is quiet and pleasant. We stay here 2-3 times per year, and we will stay there again in the future. I would rate it higher if there were cable tv. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is the most friendly park we have ever stayed in. The two owners and on site manager are the friendliest down to earth people that have a lot of interesting history and background. The rates are the best anywhere and the location and scenery are great. We camped at Durango Year Round RV Park in a Motorhome.
