I cannot believe this place. We reserved it because it is billed as the only RV Park in the city of Denver. We wanted to be close to downtown, so visit the mint, and museums. Although the park itself is reasonably clean, the neighborhood is horrible. I felt like I was staying in an inner city ghetto. Its on a major street, sirens constantly all night, and hookers walking the park! They actually knocked on our door and offered, well, you can figure that out! We didn't have a car, and when we walked a few blocks to a liquor store, we were approached by someone offering to sell us marijuana, and by a beggar. We had breakfast one morning at a nearby restaurant, where we met a local cop. From her, I learned that the owner of the RV Park also owns the run down, seedy motels and trailer houses surrounding it, and is uncooperative with law enforcement. Her comment was, "Why in the world is someone like you, staying at that dump?" Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. - Mallory
Jun 2006 - $30.00
Good news: Close to Hyland Hill's Waterworld. Bad news: More squatters than RV'ers. Make sure you lock everything as it sounded like the police were busy enough in this area. - dpthdiver
May 2006 - $35.00
A big disappointment given the lovely pictures on their website. The neighborhood is crime central. I witnessed the coke machine being stolen in the middle of the night. I will not return. - BobbieM
May 2018 - $35.00
Very decent park with really friendly staff. Very quiet at night. Laundry room was really nice, very clean, only $1.25 to wash & dry, & had a TV, VCR, & huge video library to watch! Bathrooms had shower & sink in them & are cleaned a few times daily. The back fence backs up to community park, trails, lakes, playground, & more. - User3782
Apr 2018 - $37.00
We stayed at Prospect RV for 5 days in April. First let me correct a previous review. They do not have 50 amp service. At first that was a concern for us but it was cool enough that we never had to run the AC. The staff said they were trying to update to 50 amp but had to wait for utility company to replace transformers. There is a lovely city park right next door so walking dogs was very easy. Not far from all the things we wanted to see and do in Denver. It was a little tight getting into our spot with a 40' 5th wheel but we've been in worse. Getting out would have been impossible if not for the staff. My husband went to the office the day before we left to ask them for help. When we went out the next a.m. to pull out, every car had been cleared out in our row (there are a lot of long term residents). A staff person even went so far as to call me after we had left because someone had found one of our dogs ID tags and she wanted to send it to me because she didn't want him traveling without one. We would definitely stay here again in cool months and, if they upgrade to 50 amps, we would stay any time. There wasn't room for our tow vehicle at the site but parking was close by. All hook ups were where they should have been. - jgothier
Aug 2017 - $37.00
This park is very close to Denver for access to the various attractions there and just west of the city. The staff is very friendly, and bathrooms/showers are very clean and private. A couple things kept me from giving it a 9 or 10 across the board. We never could get connected to the WiFi, and the spaces were very tight. We had a pull-through space and had to move the neighbor's picnic table in order to pull out. There's a beautiful park accessible from the pet walk area with trails, lakes, Clear Creek and the usual park items. We were just here for one night and would definitely stay again. - Eldereaglewatchers
Jun 2018 - $16.00
We stayed in the electric/water only portion of the campground. The electric was 30 amp. Spaces are small with just enough room to let the slides out. It was hot in Denver while we were there and the power just could not keep up with the demand. Our air conditioner would barely work. There also is no dump on site. There is also a FHU area with 30 amp power. There are no reservations and these sites are hard to get. Wifi is not available on the sites; only in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is nice and spacious, food OK, drinks good. Not sure I would I would stay there again without a sewer hookup. - Phaeton Joe
Sep 2017 - $18.00
Called ahead and was told by the RV park host that there was one full-hook site available. When we arrived site #14 was empty so we took that. Very tight space with a 90-degree back-in. Ok for a motorhome but a large 5th wheel may have issues. Good 30 amp electric with very high water pressure. Make sure you use a restrictor. We went to the bar to pay for our site. Very friendly lodge. Dinner was a huge smothered burrito which was delicious. We will be back. - StarlifterFE
Oct 2014 - $18.00
This park is strickly for Elks Club members and their guests only. A very nice park with 40 sites. 50 amps FHU $20, 30 amp FHU $18. Water and electric only $16. They say they have a dump station. The lounge is very nice and they have lunches and dinners. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area. - kathiecarlson
Jun 2018 - $30.00
Fairly quiet location. Sites are close together so if you have a bunch of slides on both sides and use your awning you aren't going to be happy. Level gravel site. - mrracechaser
May 2018 - $30.00
We rolled up midweek with no reservations. The amount of paperwork to get a site was crazy. DL, registration, proof of insurance. Then we had to be "escorted" to the pull thru 30 amp site. It must have taken nearly an hour to get from the gate to the site. The site is narrow and water, electric only. Gravel and right on top of the neighbors. - Brian n Barbara
Apr 2018 - $40.00
Easy highway access if you need a place to stay in Denver area. We had a 50 amp electric and water asphalt back-in site. Sites 8 - 12 are angled the wrong way for a driver's side back in and not that long. Sites 1 - 7 are straight back-ins and much longer sites. Sites would be cramped if all were full. Turn around dump station at end of road. Nice walking/bike path. The restrooms were the highlight - very clean and brightly lit and the showers were coded private stalls, very clean, warm, well-lit and hot water. - Our Rolling Home
Jul 2013 - $17.00
We stayed in this park for 2 months and did enjoy our time there. There were some negative items, but will start with the positive. The creek was close by and a walking/biking trail close. The grass was maintained by the park and it was well shaded with mature trees. Shopping for anything you need is close by. The negatives: close to a busy highway, but that didn't bother us. Try to get a site away from the highway if you can. There were problems with sewer at times, but management promptly took care of that. The Denver area is extremely hard to find places to stay and so this was the best we found. Would stay again. People very friendly in the park. Price reflects monthly rate. Wi-Fi only available in the office. - happy travelers
Jun 2013 - $35.00
I stayed here for over a month. At first glance, this place looks shabby, and it has an inconvenient entrance/exit, but once you're there, you start to see it's actually a pretty decent place to stay. It's 20 min to downtown, about 45 min to Red Rocks and it butts up to Denver's amazing run/bike trail. - riding_on_air
Jul 2012 - $38.00
This is a former mobile home park. The park has lots of shade and level concrete pads to park on. The location is nice because it is next to the creek. However, the grounds could use some updating. I don't think anything has been updated here since it was first constructed 60 years ago. Price seemed a bit steep at $38. We were charged for four people even though we had only two adults and two children under two years old. Good Denver metro area location. Most people staying in the park are long-term residents. - je23dr13
Jul 2018 - $66.00
I stayed at South Park twice in a two week period and I will NEVER stay there again.
A Walmart parking lot would be a much better place than here.
Both times I was treated rudely by the groundskeepers and swore at twice by them!
And, when I went to the office to ask for one more night they brought up my reservation on the office computer, then said..."Sorry, we are all booked up until next spring!"
So I said, "Well, I guess I have to leave in the morning.", to which the park manager said "Yup!"
Well, at my next stop the very next night I was looking at my paperwork and realized that I had indeed already paid for that night...but they just let me go and still haven't refunded me for the extra night they charged me for.
I have several friends that live there and have been told that since I left 3 1/2 weeks ago nobody has been in the site I was in both times.
The park is very nice, laundry facilities are good and the swimming pool is awesome, but the RV spaces are so close and tight to back into, plus there are cars and trucks parked in the street that makes backing into the sites even more difficult since the sites are barely long enough for the RV's, let alone the tow vehicle.
30 amp plug was loose and had to use a padlock to hold my surge protector plug from falling out. Found out later that it is against park rules to padlock the power pole.
Plus, the pool and laundry room closes at 8 pm...hardly enough time for travelers to take advantage of these amenities.
It is almost like they really don't want RV'ers to stop there...only year round residents! - John_D
May 2018 - $48.00
The only thing this place has going for it is their location. Staff are rude, people are rude, the facilities are dirty and the place has gone to hell in a hand-basket. I wonder if the owners truly know what's going on. - Randall S
May 2018 - $50.00
May 6 - 12, 2018 This park is located in a seedier part of town. The first night there there gun shots rang out, which made you want to duck and cover. The facilities at the park are dirty and poorly maintained. The sites are not level and some just have mud or piles of rocks around the sites. The park manager is a poor excuse for a manager. He has no people skills and destroys personal property without notice to the owners. If you interact with him about your property he destroyed, his best answer is "it is none of your business" and he is going to call the cops. He also tells you to leave if don't like it. We left early and there was no refund. You have been warned about this park. Go there at your own risk. - Winniebee
Jul 2015 - $30.00
The spaces in this park are very narrow & no space to park tow. My slide was almost touching my neighbor. Couldn't open awning because of closeness. Roads are very narrow & poorly maintained. Many old RV's with people living in them. Have 33 ft. rig & had difficulty getting in spot because of cars parked part way in road. Broke passenger mirror because of this issue. In addition, I did not feel safe here. I am a Thousand Trails platinum limited member & will contact them about my concerns, misleading pictures, & representation of this park. - vickie438
Jul 2015 - $35.00
Nothing fancy here, cramped sites, some paved, some gravel. A good sized laundry room that isn't cleaned very often. Nice neighbors, mostly long term residents. No trees, and the grassy areas are marked to keep dogs off. There is a dog walk area. One of several not very destination-like RV parks in the Denver area. The staff is nice. - WanderingWraith
Sep 2014 - $34.00
This was a place to park for a couple of nights. It did have full hookups, but other than that, I can't say much for this place. The sites are so closely jammed together that there isn't room to put your awning out. Dog walk is quite a hike from most RV spaces, and is just a gravel area. Signs at every grassy area warning you to keep your dogs off the grass. I saw a WiFi antenna on top of the laundry building, but could not access the WiFi without signing up and paying, which I don't do. I would not stay here again. - gfs1943
Jul 2018 - $77.00
This place is great for location to hiking trails but a little pricey. The site pads are concrete and level but the other areas of the site is inclined so having a level spot for chairs, grills, and tables is a challenge. - utex61
Jul 2018 - $69.00
As a last resort, as all the preferred area sites were booked, we got the last site (K3) at Dakota Ridge. Sites are very close together and open. No privacy at all. But worst, the sites are not level. K3 was pitched about 10º side to side. I tried about 10 times at different locations on the site to level but my computerized leveling system kept failing with excess slope, even with the rear wheel about 5" off the ground. I asked the owners for help and they sent 2 broken pieces of 2x4, which still did not help. When I told them about the slope, they said nothing in Golden is level. Hmmm. Had to leave. - nrb
Jun 2018 - $70.00
Park has changed hands to RV Inn as management company but based on experience at another RV Inn property, this is not the problem. Management has terrible attitude and that trickles down to other employees. We stayed here in 2014 and service was great. First about the park. Sites are very tight for us in 40 ft fifth wheel. We would have hit another rig with tail swing if we had blindly followed the escort cart. My wife spotted so we avoided that. Fifth wheel that came in four days later followed the escort vehicle and did hit another rig with tail swing and split back cap open. Sites are short and close. Roads are very tight. We noticed picnic area up the side of the hill closed and overgrown, dump station closed, hot tub closed, dumpsters pad locked shut so you couldn't use them at your leisure, and damage to exterior of office that was addressed with duct tape. In short, they are not taking care of the place. Staff attitude rude and confrontational. I needed carpet cleaned and called a week ahead of time to make sure it was OK. I asked if they had anyone to recommend and the lady said they use Stanley Steamer. I don't like them and she said I could use whoever I wanted. I schedule for the following week with another vendor. I prepared our rig and the tech arrived and started work. About half way through a park employee approached on a golf cart and said to tell the tech to come outside. The park employee did not even talk to me. He told the tech he was trespassing and would have to leave. Threatened to call the police. I contacted the manager who told me that's the way it is. He said they had to prove insurance, etc. even though park policies specifically absolve or all liability for all persons on property. My carpet cleaner had to leave with job half completed even though the park said I could use whoever I wanted. I hope to never need to stay here again. Also, if you have a guest for any period of time it is $5 per day and $5 for the car. So one guest for one night in one car is $20. I encourage all to look for another option. - Moe and Flo are on the go

Aug 2017 - $25.00
This park is truly a hidden gem! We never expected to have a campground in the city where you can't even see the city. This is a huge city park with lots and lots to do in it. They have horses, boat rentals, beach, lots of trails and biking. Electric only sites. Good cell coverage. The sites are HUGE. Easy to get to from C-470 There is a little noise from the C-470 traffic, but we didn't notice it inside. No shade. We would definitely stay here again. - jacknpeg
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Our site was very spacious and level. The road is paved and well maintained. It is an easy ride into Denver. 2600 acres just outside a big city -- great combination. The down side is if you have dogs, which we do. There isn't really any grass; it is brush, which is cut back for the sites. My dogs didn't like walking on it. There is also some foxtail around, which can be dangerous for a dog if it gets in its eye or nose, so you have to be careful. Still, it's a terrific value and we would definitely return. - Dapper
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Wide gravel site. All interior roads paved and well maintained. Dump station and water fill station easily accessible to 45' motor home. Dumpsters scattered throughout park. - blumarlin
Jun 2018 - $55.00
In my opinion, the RV park was disgustingly dirty (mold in the bathroom showers) and there is no accessible shower stall. In my opinion, the park manager was consistently rude, unprofessional, and extremely difficult to deal with. The park manager was not helpful with 1) RV bookings, 2) Did not correct their amp service when it didn't work, 3) Took 2 days to get the water spigot at the front of the park fixed, 4) Allowed smoking in the bathrooms (instead of redirecting smokers to the designated smoking area), 5) Accessible requests were ignored and/or denied. If you have any type of handicap, in my opinion you should consider finding a different park. - PR Travleler
Sep 2017 - $55.00
Right downtown but you feel you are out in the country. Had a Creek side site. Will go back again. A lot of hiking in the area. - Mleeder
Aug 2017 - $55.00
Absolutely a great park. So close to downtown Golden (5 minute walk), right on Clear Creek. Great walking trails accessible from park. Will stay here anytime in the Denver area. - SC RVer
