Sites are all dirt with continual clouds of dust with any wind or vehicles driving on the road. We had to keep windows closed and use A/C on a fall day. The only selling point is the proximity to RMNP. Price is high but that may be the Estes Park area. Would not stay here again. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The entire park is horribly dusty and no effort has been made to mitigate the problem. Our all-dirt site was level, but the space allocated for the splinter-filled picnic table was a 45 degree angle, same as many other spaces; we couldn't use our awning. The WiFi was pitifully slow, even when the park was almost empty. We expected so much more for the price we paid and we won't ever stay there again. We felt robbed. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We had a very enjoyable experience at your park. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. Our site was good, fairly level and had a great view of the mountains. We did not sample any of your amenities but did look at the pool which would have been inviting on a hotter day. Somewhat disappointed that both hot tubs were out of service. But that's OK. I must admit we were somewhat skeptical with allot of the negative reviews we had read on line but I am glad we didn't pay that much attention to them. Your CG is not perfect but none are. You could use your grader to level the sites a little better, but again none are perfect. Park is a little dusty but no where near as bad as some we have been in. It is camping after all. Your location right outside the RMNP is fantastic. The location south of town is a plus as it only takes a little exploring to find the back roads that take you around the main town if you want to go into Fort Collins or anywhere north of the main street area. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Restrooms / showers VERY clean. Landry room the same with excellent equipment. This would be an 10+++ if it had concrete pads and asphalt roads, but it does not, but was still more than adequate - can't have it all, all the time... The views within the park are awesome - mountains nearly surround the park. The location is excellent and super convenient for touring Rocky Mountain NP. No road noise noticed from the road leading into the park. A nice bonus is the fact the park's location does not require one to drive across / through the town of Estes Park which seems to have heavy traffic from 11:00 A. M. until after 7:00 P. M. One recommendation is to ask for a site toward the rear of the park in order to be most far away from in-park vehicle traffic which kicks up dirt/dust. Hope to return again. We stayed nine (9) nights and could see ourselves staying a month as nice park, town, restaurants, and no biting flies or other bugs. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like scenic drives, County Road 43 is an absolute MUST. CR43 is also known as Devil's Gulch Road and goes down into a mini-canyon. The road was obviously just completed as it was brand new / perfect. Also, if you dare Indian food, the Himalayan Curry & Kebob was delicious! Had to dine there twice during our nine day visit. Baba's burger and gyro restaurant has great reviews but we found their elk and buffalo burgers to be VERY bland.

This was an excellent park. Yes the sites are close, but the views were amazing. There is no question we will be back to this campground. The way the park is set up, you will always have a view of the surrounding area. The other negative is the slope of the sites. This also becomes a positive which gives you the excellent views. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The park has some nice sites. Ours was not one of them. The site was unlevel, left front tire off the ground. No level spot for picnic table. Close to neighbors. It is close and convenient to Rocky Mountain National Park. Would look for alternates next time, or specify site. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our 6th year staying at Elk Meadow. You can't beat the location. The sites are spaced fairly well - especially if you are on the "G" row. I wold have rated it a "7" if it were not for the beautiful area, views from the park, and the proximity to RMNP. There are problems. First, the roads are horrible and need a major upgrade. Second, due to some of the slopes on the hills, you can end up with a very unlevel site or a site where your sewer connector is much higher than your sewer outlet on your RV. Third, is the dust. Since the roads are not paved, the wind just creates dust storms that are almost unbearable if you are sitting outside. So: to the folks at Elk Meadow - please pave the roads, level the sites, and fix the height of some of the sewer connections. Once you do that you will truly have a world-class park that is worthy of a "10". We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Elk Meadow is an example of demand exceeding supply. I'll start out with what's good.

Easy to get reservations, Sites are adequately sized, Pool, and location. Now that we've got that out the way, let's talk about how it's managed and what it's like.

Despite the size of this place, at 5 PM they close the office and there's nobody. No security, no help - nothing. I talked to one woman that arrived at closing. After realizing she had no electricity at her assigned site, the office was closed. Just think what might happen if there was something serious?

The campground itself? All reports you read about 'dusty' are true. The whole place is gravel and dust. Plan on keeping your windows closed and using the AC, or cleaning the interior of your RV. There are a few trees, but nowhere near enough to qualify for 'shaded sites'.

Now, let's talk about management and their attitude. When I called I asked about two nights with the possibility of extending to three. I was told "no problem".

I arrived after 5 and found my info packet and my site. Packet instructions were report to the office by 10:00 AM. Not sure why, they already had all my info including payment, I wasted an hour complying. I had to sign an agreement to obey all rules AND they asked for a signature authorizing a credit check. As I said, they already had my CC.

I confirmed that I would be there for the two nights they had charged my CC for, and most likely a 3rd night. Again, "No problem. Just let us know". The following morning, the very same person that had told us no problem, informed us we'd have to move. Our site had been booked for several months. When I reminded her of what she said the prior day, the manager came out and told me that no one would ever say that. When confronted with that, the clerk simply said "that wouldn't be something I would say". Demand exceeds supply.

This is a poorly run facility. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park would rate a 10 if lanes were paved, sites concrete and had some landscaping. Park WILL NOT accept mail or packages!! Nor handle outgoing mail.

RV park just outside of Town with a quiet rural feel. A free shuttle picks up at the park. Gorgeous views. Large park with with dirt lanes and RV sites. The dust all day long is very difficult to cope with.

Most other RV parks at that price would have concrete pads, paved laneways and really nice landscaping. Sites are long enough for our 43 ft fifth wheel and big F350 but not very wide. Still room for slides and awnings though. Within the RV sites there are no trees and no landscaping AT ALL. Utilities are good. WiFi is typical RV park. Park is very clean and staff is friendly. There is a pool and two spas as well as a very large fenced in dog park. Kids playground looks like lots of fun. The mini golf park is under construction. Cowboy BBQ and Entertainment in the lodge every evening except Sunday. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The greatest complaint I and others have about this park is with the difficulty one has in leveling their motorhome. The next biggest problem is the dust and poor road conditions within the park itself. We have stayed their for the past two years and each time the ability to level our motorhome becomes more and more difficult. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Easy access to and in the park with our extra large sized 40'+ Big Rig RV (although Hy36 can be daunting, take your time to and from Estes Park and you will be fine). Call for directions to bypass downtown Estes Park in a Big Rig RV. Pros: Closest park with hookups to the RMNP east entrance. Excellent AT&T and Verizon LTE cellular signal (parks east of Estes park have no cell service). Cons: Expensive. No amenities (pool / hot tub) open during our September stay. Sites and interior roads more dirt than gravel causing nonstop dust. I though this park was very overpriced but other options in the area provide no better value or better facilities. This is a great place to stay if visiting Rocky Mountsins National Park as it is the closest to the park entrance. Great views of the mountains from most sites but since this park has a s hated pedestal layout not all look the same direction. Problem here is the gravel-- mostly dirt interior roads and parking-- lots of dust! Some sites aren't level. This park though is very good for big rigs. Great satellite reception. Internet was pretty good-- lots of towers but some through put issues. Even with the minor flaws this is a very good rv park and we will return. We camped at Elk Meadow Lodge & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
