We missed the turn off because it is not well marked. By the time we saw it we were too late to turn in. Our 5th wheel is 32' and our site was a back in for a 35'. It was an extremely hard back in. There was a drop off in front of many sites, ours included. I doubt a bigger unit would fit. We did not enjoy this campground and will not be returning. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

We made reservations here in spite of some not-too-great reviews, because the Estes Park Campground at East Portal was full. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms and showers are kept clean. The showers are $2 for 6 minutes, which is plenty of time for most people, and the hot water was plentiful. Our site had electric and water hook ups and was one of the sites surrounding a dirt and gravel lot. Unfortunately, when the wind blew, which it did with a vengeance, dust blows! Even with the windows and door closed, our RV was full of dust. There were a couple sites below a small hill that many have been better sheltered from the dust, but the campground needs to be at least covered with gravel or paved. Perhaps there are plans to do that, as the lot looked somewhat like a work in progress. The full hook-up sites were gravel with cement patios but no trees at all. Tent sites were more shaded. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit. The location is great - easy to get to town and Rocky Mt. National Park. There are views of the mountains. There is no WiFi here, but the WiFi was good at the Estes Park Visitor Center. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park is spectacular. Drive Trail Ridge Road. Sites M129 and M130 might be a little more sheltered from the dust. None of the sites are real level. I posted several photos of the campground.

Mixed feelings on this campground. First, we found all of the campgrounds in Estes Park to be expensive; this park was no exception. We stayed in a 50amp pull-through site. They had two rows of pull-through sites, probably a total of 20-30 sites in those two rows. We would stay in a pull-through site again however, the back-in sites had zero privacy, so we would not stay in one of those. The pull through sites are gravel with a cement patio, a nice fire pit and a large picnic table. Decent space between sites. No cable. The tent sites looked pretty rough. Amenities: Nice, but very small, pool. Nice playground area for the kids. Bathhouse was very clean. They do charge for showers ($2 for 6 minutes)....that was a new one for us, but we figured that they do this, as so many dry camp in the area and probably come on property, to use the showers. We had no problem with the roads into the campground, fit just fine pulling our 40' fifth wheel. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

First off I missed the turn into the campground as it is poorly marked after you make the turn off the main road. Roads are dirt. The patio at my site was covered with mud that had run down from the site behind and above mine. Had to share the water faucet with a neighbor. However, some sites have new gravel.

As with most things: Estes Park in the summer the CG is expensive. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

The employees are friendly. The park is run by the fed govt. That says a lot. Spaces are very close. You have to like your neighbor's radio station and conversation. Showers are $2 for 6 minutes of cold water. Very unpleasant. I would gladly pay $5 for a good shower. Just Mickey Mouse to feed quarters for a cold shower. They don't care. Will not return. Stay away. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Motorhome.

While the Estes Park Campground at Mary's Lake is a relatively nicely kept campground with good customer service, it is very much a family campground with very tight spaces. Fine if you have kids and are looking for family friendly. Not quiet and peaceful, though. As seniors looking for peaceful evenings, we might return in a pinch: if we could get a space away from the playground area, but only if nothing else was available. Campers next to us had 10 people in their campground when stated limit was 6 persons. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Now operated by Estes Park, with lots of improvements. Full hookup sites were level and well positioned. Staff very friendly and helpful. New restrooms near full hookups were great.

Rather windy location, but definitely less expensive than other RV campgrounds. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The campground was a lot bigger then expected. Not all of the sites were equal. As someone said, if you were in the top two rows, there was plenty of room, lower then the two and you were crammed in to a very tight space, it appeared to have back to back spaces. Good for multiple RV families, but not so if you do not want to share a common area. It appeared a lot of construction was going on as there were piles of gravel and painted wood around. The playground for the kids appears to be fairly new. Fishing in Mary's Lake could have been better. I think all that were there were fingerlings. Better fishing to be had near the visitors center in town (I am not kidding). Would I stay there again. Sure, for us the experience was favorable, the location to the park close enough. Have fun. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Note, of you are coming in on Highway 36, you do not have to go through town to reach the campground. There is a short cut that goes south about the middle of Estes Lake , with one right turn off this road at the correct location and you end up passing going just north of the campground with the entrance at the "T" in the road. Use this same road if you need a grocery store or gas station.

We came here for a wedding at Mary's Lake Lodge (a beautiful setting) and had a group of for spots. The last row where we were at, has a nice view of the mountain. The spots are not terribly narrow. That is the best I can say. The price is outrageous for what they offer. We had a heavy rain during our stay. The camp had rivers running through it. A worker stopped by the front of my motor home to look at the trough that had formed. Nothing was done. For the price they charged, i would expect better water control, at least paved roads. A shelter would be nice, since there is not a tree in the RV area. There is a patio on this loop, but, the mud just overran it from the rain. This park really could have so much potential. But, the price they charge does not justify the amenities. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Motorhome.

I found this park neither as good nor as poor as previous reviewers. We had to split our stay between two sites in order to spend a week. Our middle row site was longer and wider than our back row site. Both were adequate for our 40 ft motorhome with toad parked alongside. It is very dusty and can be muddy in rainy weather. Most sites seem to slope substantially downward, so bring blocking, even for a motorhome. The staff is working to improve the base, but there is more work to do. Wifi is still poor: it unpredictably goes from OK, to slow, to gone, and back. The work campers try very hard to keep the place clean, but there's a lot to be done. Many customers light fires in the evening; it can get very smoky. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Motorhome.

The entire operation is clean and well organized. The hosts were friendly. Trailer sites were level and well-drained. All of the utilities were in good order. Pool is small, but the kids enjoyed it. Fishing on Mary's Lake was fun. Good access to the main entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Have pizza at Antonio's Real New York Pizza. It is great. The place is small so get there early to get a table (or carry out). If you eat there, you get to watch them toss the pizza dough in the air (kids loved it)!

Campground is conveniently located but is kind of dusty and semi-suburban, with some vacation homes nearby. Good views of the mountains. The management is excellent -- Zenda and Kay are currently (as of 2015) running things for the town of Estes Park and are cheerful, efficient, helpful, and competent. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.

Smaller campground than Elk Meadow where we also stayed . Sites are close but not as bad as some others we saw in the area . You can put out an awning and not come close to your neighbors camper . Mostly level where we were and a mix of gravel and dirt . We had some rain and there were small rivers running through the place but not real bad . we were on site 15 and there was no wi-fi at all for us unless we went up by the office . No cable , no over the air channels ,and no phone service from AT&T . Nice view of the mountains . Staff was friendly . We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Went South from the campground to a place called "Chapel on the Rock ", a small but pretty church made of stone and built on stone.

Took the Fall River Road all the way up to Alpine Visitor center . What an awesome drive and views on the way . Nearly 12,000 ft. in elevation .

We were tired and stopped because it was the first RV campground we came to after RMNP. It was incredibly $65.00 for the night, I was too tired to argue. The guide to our site mentioned there was a bear in a tree nearby, we noticed people taking pictures. The site was dusty and had a lot of food scraps lying around. We were by a creek, or small river and the sites were very close to each other. Loud music started from somewhere after 9pm. There appeared to be no one checking on the safety of patrons and there were cars driving through all night too. Will not be back. I heard one of the ladies in the office charging another customer the same amount. We were pulling a small travel trailer. Bear was gone the next morning and so were we. We camped at Estes Park Campground at Marys Lake in a Travel Trailer.
