As the other reviews said, lots of amenities. This is more of a family type resort. Somewhat pricey, like all KOAs. A real irritant was the $10/person fee for guests. Staff were pleasant and groundskeeping/maintenance were excellent.

Sites were concrete and level with good spacing. My site has an awkwardly placed tree.

Cable is good, Wi-Fi is terrible. Not too far (5 miles) from downtown Ft Collins. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This campsite has numerous amenities for families with children: fabulous playground, paddle boats, mini golf, games, etc. We stayed here because our son lives in Fort Collins, and we wanted to be fairly close to him. In our experience, this was one of the pricier RV parks we've stayed in, but it was well maintained. The staff is very friendly. There is a large staff here, so lots of folks to help you. It looked like most of the sites had cement pads. We ended up paying additional $10/night for a cement patio with patio furniture. It was raining so this seemed like a good option. The problem is that the sites are pretty close together so we wouldn't feel comfortable using the patio furniture with our neighbor's slide literally a foot or two from our patio. When it rained, there were numerous very large, deep puddles at both ends of our site. They dried up in a day or two. The entry drive into the campground looks like a construction site (not very attractive), and there's no parking outside the campground. Many others commented on the $10/day visitor fee so we were prepared for this when our son came over to have dinner at our campsite. There was a large laundry room and very nice general store. The bathroom/showers on the east side of campground where very nice: five private bathroom/shower combinations. No fire rings at campsites unless you wanted to rent for $5/day (they would deliver). We will be back through this area again, but will try a Larimer County campground (Horsetooth Reservoir). Not as many amenities but much less expensive. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lory State Park is only 7 miles away. Beautiful park with numerous hiking trails just west of Horsetooth Reservoir. Access to Poudre River bike trail right around the corner from the campground entrance. Only 5 miles or so from downtown Fort Collins.

Let me start by saying I am not a fan of KOA's, however, if they were all like this, I'd stay in them every time. The staff is extremely helpful, the sites are a nice size with grass, a grill, table and a decent distance from the neighbor. The amenities are out of this world...pickle ball, bean bag toss, minature golf, paddle boats, bumper boats, dog park, train rides, pizza truck, kid play area, ball field, pool, walks around the lake, fishing and more. This is a destination place for families and worth the price if you are going to use the amenities. We were there on a holiday weekend and it was full. You never need to leave the park to have a lot of fun. However, we do enjoy downtown Ft Collins and did a lot of sightseeing. My only problem with the place is that my Verizon air card was extremely slow. Not sure if it's the area, which is out of town a bit, or just too many people at once trying to use the cell tower. Easy to get in and navigate with a big rig. Guard at the front gate so outsiders don't use the amenities. We love this area and will continue to come here even though the price is high even for KOA's. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Level concrete pads. Inner roads good. Very clean and nice people in the store. Lots for the kids to do at this park. Good fishing in their lake. We would stay again. We stayed a week so price reflects that. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We spent just one night here while passing through the area. It appeared to be a great resort park with lots to do without even leaving. Finally, a resort park that actually earns a resort rating. Would be a great place to bring kids for a weekend. Our pull through site was paved and with convenient hookups and a picnic table. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

There are 3 KOA's in Fort Collins. We have stayed at the Wellington location. The Lakeside location is far superior. There are a lot of amenities in the park to keep you occupied. The internet works well. The cable TV is adequate. Garbage can be picked up at your site or you can deposit it in a dumpster yourself. The sites have grass & are of adequate size. The hookups were located okay & the sites were level. It is conveniently located to the city of Fort Collins shopping & restaurants. The staff was friendly & you are escorted to your site. There is Hunts Brothers pizza on site & breakfast on the weekends. The speed bumps getting into the park are killers. Most are actually dips in the driveway and have no markings. You just learn where they are. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

his place was a pleasant surprise. We had just traded-in our old travel trailer and bought a new motorhome. This was our two day "shakedown" trip to make sure everything worked and how to work it before we took any big trips.
A lot of shade trees and grass here. Plenty of space between spots. Laundry, showers and bathrooms were spotless. Staff was great. There was even a small building where you could order a pizza, or breakfast, and have it delivered right to your RV. Great WiFi. We will stay here again. We camped here in a motorhome. We stayed here while visiting relatives in Fort Collins. I tend to stay away from KOAs, we do not take advantage of the amenities offered and those amenities drive the price per night up. This park was really nice, next to a lake, if you have children this would be a fun place for them. Our site was a pull thru, a level cement pad with grass on both sides with a table. Wifi was spotty, plenty of channels on cable. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

First of all, you should know I am not a fan of KOA but would come back here in a flash and think many campgrounds should use this place as an example for amenities. Our site was a pull thru and long enough (many times they aren't) for our 40 ft RV plus tow. Staff was courteous and helpful at check in and when we had packages mailed to us here. Verizon service was not the best here for either cell or data, but it did work. This is NOT an overnight spot, as it takes a while to get here from I-25. However, it is easy to get into town for groceries and other amenities. Entry into the park and around the park is easy with a big rig. Now for the amenities...yes, you are paying a higher price in your fee for them but I have never been to a park that has so much available. And not just for kids but for adults too. Paddle boats, miniature golf, fantastic playground, walking trail (my dog loved this!) around the lake, dog park, basketball, pickle ball, jumpy houses, pool, train rides around the park and probably other things I can't remember. All of this is included in the price and although the price is a little higher than some KOA's I can understand why. They also have breakfast on the weekends and pizza and wings available every night for purchase. This place is in demand and that's why the weekend rates are higher. We were here a week and loved the park and the area. I wouldn't hesitate to come back. It was a peaceful park even with all the activities going on. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

While we enjoyed our stay we found the staff to be very grumpy and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you spend your money there. The park itself is very nice and spacious, with putt putt gold, fishing lake, river close by. Nice and quiet will be coming back and just hope they have more friendlier staff. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

The water is very hard and the campground has made no effort to adjust the spray of the lawn sprinklers. After the first night, I was dismayed to find hard water spots ¾ way up the side of our motor home and covering the right side of our tow vehicle. I called the office and they basically didn't care. To make matters worse the sprinklers run every night. After two nights, the entire right side of our motor home was covered with hard water spots.

Quiet hours are 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. One local camper starts his loud diesel truck at 5:50 am and runs it for 15 minutes before departing.

Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience, especially considering what we paid for the stay-highly overpriced! We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Everything is here. All kinds of stuff for the kids to do. About 10 miles from I-25 so it's not for an overnight. Lots of shade and grass. Gravel roads, concrete pad, picnic table, and bar-b-que. Helpful, courteous staff. Pool was too cold to use. New bathhouses. Very quiet. Cable TV had limited channels and poor reception. Competitive price. About an hour from Estes Park, Stanley Hotel, and Rocky Mountain National Park. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

This RV park is big rig friendly but it is quite a distance from the Interstate which means no traffic noise but there is a train track nearby. Sites are sufficient in size for a 45' motorhome, level and graveled. The staff was courteous. The cable TV and Wi-Fi worked. It appears there are a lot of permanent residences. Due to the price and the location, we would only stay here again if we couldn't find another RV park. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice destination park for families but we don't use most of the amenities so it is an expensive place for us. We were not happy when told we could not put up a small pen for our two small dogs. They also wanted to charge $10 if our friend visited our RV. Will only stay here again if we can't find someplace else. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is very nice. Long, level pull thru with all utilities placed conveniently and grass between sites. Friendly check in and escort to site. As others have mentioned, the visitor policy is a little over the top. Our friends came to pick us up for a day trip to Rocky Mountain NP and were told that they couldn't get out of the car or they would have to pay $10 each visitor fee??? The campground is very clean, well organized and has a lot of activities for families. We camped at Fort Collins / Lakeside KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
