Very nice state park with nice trails to walk along the river. All utilities worked well. No WiFi or cable but got a few channels on the bat wing. Quiet night, didn't hear any trains and highway noise was just muted background sounds. Nice level concrete pads, paved roads and covered tables. Very nice restroom facilities with a laundromat. Easily accessible gas station at the exit. Lots of extra fees however with $28 camp fee, $7 entrance fee and $10 reservation fee plus pay showers ($1 for 4 minutes) so not necessarily a good value. The real value is it's wide open and spacious so you're not camping on top of one another. I would stay again. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

Easy to get in/out from I-70 and around the park. Paved roads and sites. Sites are level. My two criticisms of the site are the bad/short angle entering my pull-thru with a long rig and a big rock caused much frustration. Secondly the fire pit is right next to the pad, only a few feet from the RV. Utilities worked well (extremely high water pressure, use your regulator). No Wifi, Verizon signal strong. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Colorado National Monument is fantastic and entrance is only a few miles away. Hiking the Monument Canyon Trail is great but I would not recommend Wedding Canyon Trail (very bad shape for the difficulty).

Pros: This is a beautiful, fairly new park. The grounds were meticulously maintained and the restroom/laundry room were spotless. There are a ton of outlets in the laundry room and adjoining sitting room. Washers were $1.50 and dryers were $1.00 for 45 minutes, decent prices. Each site has a picnic table with shade shelter. Walking distance to shopping center with convenience store, liquor store, fast food and a good Mexican restaurant. Cons: pull thrus have shelter roof right along parking pad on passenger side and utility stanchion is right next to the line on the drivers side. If you have a big rig with pull outs on both sides or one on drivers side and want to use your awning you may not fit. Suggest you try back in site instead. They have a lot more side room and are quite long. Also half the lighting was out in the laundry room making it very dark, the change machine was broken, and the "suggestion box" had neither cards nor pencil. Probably so I wouldn't complain about the poor lighting! :). Also the showers are a big rip off at $1.00 for 4 minutes and the $7/day "entrance fee" on top of the camping fee is just stupid. Charge what you need to and don't nickel and dime users to death!

Might try the RV park across the road next time since it's only a few dollars more, looked really nice, and supposedly has wi-fi (although they ALL say they do and most don't work worth a darn!). Otherwise, I would still stay here again. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Truck Camper.

This is a typical Colorado State Park campground from what I have seen: Clean, well organized, with larger, well spaced pull-through sites. We had a slight issue extending our awning due to the close proximity of the roof over the picnic table but we were able to angle the awning so that it could be extended fully.

Very easy access to and from the highway. Although it is close to the highway, we experienced no traffic noise during our 2 night stay. There are several restaurants within walking distance and nearby gas stations.

Beautiful view of the surrounding red rock cliffs from the campsite.

There is no wifi at the campground but we got a strong 4G signal with Verizon.

We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 3 nights. Excellent facility. Level sites with concrete pads and 50 amp service. Close to CO national monument and just off the street. I would have thought it was noisy but it wasn't at all. Bike path connects to park. Very clean and neat. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a great park very well laid out and very easy to get into sites. We had a pull through site with full hook up. The pads are concrete and asphalt leading into the concrete. There is a covered picnic table along with fire ring all in a gravel area off the concrete pad. The staff was very friendly and willing to help in any way they could. The view of the National Monument from the park is fabulous. Wished we lived closer so we could come back on a regular basis. The only negative is no WIFI or cable TV, however, phone signal was good so we could use our hot spot. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical State Park, clean and tidy with paved roads and paved turn-out sites. Day Pass into the Park is included in the camping fee above. Easy to navigate. Colorado River is next to the Park. Our site was a reasonably long, level, paved pull-through with full hookup. There is no wifi, but AT&T coverage is good. Sites have a very nice covered patio with picnic table. They water the grass, and our toad and RV were thoroughly sprayed. Other sites were watered in mid-afternoon. There is a long walking trail along the Colorado river, and numerous grassy areas in which dogs can walk. The park is close to the Colorado National Monument. Campground hosts keep the place really clean, but apparently don't monitor the lawn sprinklers. Trains come through closely in the middle of the night. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Motorhome.

This is a great park and if it had been further from I-70 it would rate an 10+ rating. Wonderful level concrete pads with clean gravel area and a permanent shade shelter over the picnic table. Only draw back was some freeway noise. We would stay again. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nightly rate was for site without sewer and does not include the CO daily fee if you do not have an annual pass. All in at $31 night this is a steal for what you get. This is our 3rd time here. We love the CO State Parks! Easy freeway access, great interior roads, level long pull thru site, shaded picnic table, great hook-ups, clean facilities, what's not to like? As for outside noise - our A/c's were running so didn't hear a thing in the coach. Lots of space to walk the dog. We camped at James M. Stopped here as a staging point for taking Scenic 128 into Moab the next morning. Had most of the afternoon so got the wife a one day fishing license and she did some trout fishing in the park lake while I did a little hiking. She did catch one trout and lost several others. Clean campground. The $35 includes the state permit. I believe the showers cost $1 for 4 min. Clean showers and restrooms. Hot water. Would stay again. We camped at James M. Didn't particularly like the surroundings (unattractive and right off highway), but it has all the conveniences one needs and is situated nearby various outdoor activities. Lot spacing was nearby with generally sunny/open exposures. Site surface was a concrete pad featuring a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at James M.
