Beautiful location as you are in a canyon on the Colorado river. Sites were ok as all are on crushed gravel. Several things upset me. The ad in Woodall's was a half page saying they were a Good Sam's campground. Except they don't accept a Good Sam discount in off season. For those of us that choose a Good Sam park due to the quality and cost reduction, this was misleading and they were just using the name unfairly. Their brochure and the ad stated they had an onsite restaurant which is where we had planned to have supper...not open. Open year round - stay and play.... except nothing was open. I could have stayed at several other places if i just wanted a camp spot. I was looking more for the full experience of what was promised. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Pros: The location is 3 mi from Glenwood Springs and 3 mi from Hanging Lake. Clean campground that sits on the Colorado River, and nice employees. Good power grid. Cons: Price is outrageous for the amenities. This is NOT a resort. Lots are either dirt or gravel. They charge extra for more than two people, also charge extra for pets, and there are no grassy area for pets. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

First this is NOT a resort! Glenwood Canyon is a gravel parking lot with RVs stacked on top of one another! Nor is Glenwood Canyon Big Rig friendly, just because you can "shoehorn" a Big Rig into a site does not make the park Big Rig Friendly. Most of the corners are guarded by large rocks and this AM a Newmar Essex hit the rocks while attempting to make a turn. The "300" area sites have electrical all the way to the rear of the site and the sewer all the way to the front of the site, be sure to bring lots of sewer hose! The situation is further exacerbated by having river rafting in the park. The river rafters drive walk through the center driveway, RVs line the driveway on either side. And, there is no posted speed limit which creates pure chaos!! We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

We reserved a space and paid in full two weeks before arrival. When we checked in we were assigned a space up a hill and furthest away from the river and restaurant. After backing in, we were not able to hook up because the electric outlet was so far from the rv that the cord would not stretch. This was a first in over 30 years of rv-ing. After walking back down the hill and explaining the situation (very politely), I was told there were no other spaces and they would not refund the money even though we did not get the space we reserved. Only after this exchange was I given the option of borrowing a 50-amp extension cord with the caveat "if you don't return the cord we'll charge you $500.00". I was shocked but accepted the cord, walked back up the hill and we were finally able to hook up. While reserving the space two weeks earlier, I had specifically asked if they had shuttle service (the park is a long, 2-mile freeway drive from town). I was assured they had shuttle service, but upon arrival I was told the shuttle only ran two times per day. The hook-up problems caused us to miss the last shuttle and lose the rest of the day's plans. During our stay, other staff members were very apologetic and tried to help out. However, the office staff was surly. The bathrooms, while clean, were overrun with tenters and large groups. Our dog had to be walked outside the park. Sites are very tightly spaced and all are back-ins. Overall, this park is not as advertised and I would suggest looking around for another place to stay. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Absolutely the worst RV experience we have ever had. My family and I were traveling home to Georgia from Alaska and looked up RV resorts through Colorado. We found Glenwood Canyon RV resort and made reservations to stay the night. The website was well designed and it made the RV "Resort" truly look like a resort. They had zip lining, a rock wall, a ropes course, a resturant, and bar. All on site. We made the reservation and after mentioning my teacup yorkie and two children the price jumped up to $94.00. Now keep in mind we thought we made reservations at a "resort" so the extra 5 charge for the dog and extra 7.00 each for the two kids still seemed fair. After all you pay more for resorts because of the extra amenities and activities. We literally were so excited about getting there that we cut our trip through Arches National Park super short just so we could hurry and get there and let the kids have fun. We arrived at 4:00 pm. Check-in was at 2:00 pm so we figured we still had plenty of fun to be had because the office didn't close until 10:00. After checking in and going to our site we plugged in and took our bikes down. We rode down to the building where all the activities were done. It was literally around 4:25 PM by the time we got there. It looked pretty cool and my kids immediately wanted to do the zip line. The zip line consisted of 1 zip line going across the river then 1 coming back. After finding out it was 35.00 per person and that we had to do it with them so it would've cost our family of 4, $140 dollars for 2 short zip lines we weren't sure about it but still asked when we could do it. The man behind the counter said the next zip line activity starts at 6:00 PM and it was also the last one of the day. We then asked about the rock wall. The man said the rock wall was closed. We then asked about the ropes course. Closed as well. We were shocked! It was a Saturday at 4:30 pm in the middle of July. Why was everything closed?

Leftover trash from previous campers. Straight across from sanitation dump for the entire upper RV site. Also power box way too far from RV. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

My first time backing into a spot and I finally went and asked if there was another spot after listening to "experienced" campers and trying their advice the woman checked and didn't have anything better so she walked up to help me and we backed it in first try... she was awesome! Any way, tight spots with lots of boulders around. The utilities are all the way to the back of the site and luckily my neighbor had an extension cord for 30 amps which worked out fine. There a is a restaurant right on site and zip lines along with white water rafting, so it's a great location right on the Colorado river. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I would have liked this place better if it weren't priced so high. Not worth what they charge for it. $60 plus $7 for kids over 5 yrs. It's just a parking lot with some fun things to do. You can't see the river from the sites unless you're tent camping. The staff was friendly. It was very clean and well maintained. Fun things to do (zip line, ropes course, rafting) but neither of my kids were big enough to participate in any of them. But that didn't stop them from charging extra for my 6 year old. There was a playground at least. There's a wi-fi hot spot you have to walk to. Not sure why they did it that way since I could pick up their private office signal just fine from our site. A good wifi signal would have helped justify the cost some. Location is very convenient to Glenwood Springs. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Well, we just paid $80 for one night at this "resort" (2 people + 2 dogs) the most we've ever paid for a site in 2 years on the road. This begs the question - what makes an "RV resort" different from a gravel parking lot sandwiched between the freeway and the railroad tracks? Amenities! Unfortunately, when we arrived on Labor Day at 430 pm, there was literally no staff on site. No restaurant, no bar, no office, no host, no zipline, no raftng...no one! The campsite is small, gravel, dirty, trash in the bushes, dog poo etc. The next day the office person gave us no discount despite the fact that nothing advertised on their website was open. There are only 2 things that save this place at all - the CDOT bike trail is awesome, and the hike up No Name Creek cannot be beat. Both of these attractions are accessible from the FREE parking 100' from the "resort." Never again, there are better alternatives in this area. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

"RESORT" it is not!! RV sites are extremely close together including slides close to cabin doors. Sites are gravel with very little maintenance. Office manager and staff were rude! We arrived earlier than the 2:00 check in time and were told we had to leave and come back on or after 2:00 pm so their maintenance people could prepare the site for us. During our 3 day stay, there was no maintenance preformed on any rv sites! We were also charged $5 per day for each dog although no dog area was provided! We booked online and were told that sites were not assigned until arrival, which was not the truth. Extremely expensive for what the so called "Resort" provided. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

I can concur with most of the reviews about the poor location of the hookups, so be sure to plan accordingly. The location and outdoor offerings are fantastic so perhaps that's the reason for the high price. There was no cable at our site - 108 - but I didn't really mind. The temperature was ideal at 72 degrees and we didn't use our air conditioner. The laundry only has two apartment style stacked washer and dryer units which needs to increase due to all of the outdoor activities. Bring loads of quarters as these appliances are expensive. This location was a treat because of the canyon and river scenery but I am not convinced it was worth the admission fee. Also, we were travelling in a 25 ft. rig. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

The good and the bad...This park could be a rated as excellent, but because of some design flaws is just average. We pulled in with our MH and were surprised to be told immediately that our money was nonrefundable as soon as we signed the reservation paperwork. I thought that was strange, but when we drove to our site, it became all too apparent. The sites are somewhat narrow, not at all level, and not well laid out. Every site I looked at had the electric at the very back of the site, the water in the middle, and the sewer was in the front of the site. If you don't have 30 foot of sewer hose, you can wait until you leave, like we did, and dump by pulling forward out of the site, until your hose can reach. You will also need some boards to get your coach somewhat level. Not wanting my front wheels off the ground kept us walking uphill to the rear of our coach while we were here. Other than those things, the campground is in a great location, is quiet, and the scenery is spectacular. The staff was very helpful and courteous, and even changed their minds about not letting us stay here with our German Shepherd, although they charged us and additional $5 for the Shepherd and $5 for a 5 lb. Papillion. I definitely thought the price was out of line with the facilities available. Hopefully, the owners will reconsider the layout of the sites and improve upon their usability. We will probably drive right past this place on our return trip. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is the most jammed we have ever experienced. Campers, tents, just 3 feet apart. Did not have septic hook ups on our site. Employees very into visiting with other employees and not providing service. In the eating area two were discussing bad customers they had to deal with. We paid for 3 nites but only stayed two. The facility is very hilly. The town is nice but pick a different RV Park. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I was a bit concerned after reading through the reviews & the much discussed manager (I think he is one of the owners) but was relieved to find the staff was very helpful and courteous although they were well rehearsed in 'once your payment is processed there is are no refund' & 'we are sorry you are having trouble with the wifi, here is a password for the laundry room wifi or you may ENJOY the internet at the No Name Bar and Grill'. The implication here is there is no service guarantee or apologies. The camp wifi has an intentional filter on it - works great to access the park's own website & sometimes to download email, but everything else is filtered (verified with a scanner). Clearly the claim of wifi misrepresents the service. At least the Bar doesn't mind if you don't buy anything while you use a table. The whole place seems owned by the same people although everything in the park has a different legal name (bar, campground, rafting outfit, zipline) I assume all for some tax or legal liability setup.

The back in full sites are spacious but everything is gravel, some trees give some shade, summer afternoons can be hot. Sewer drains are oddly placed at the front of the site rather than back where dump valves are so I (and others) had to make a stop to buy another 10' of sewer hose to reach. They have no cable and local air channels are limited to a couple children's channels, PBS and some rerun UHF channels.

The lower campsites (smaller rigs) are right on the river and quite beautiful but very closely packed together and just across the river is the train track. Not a problem up the hill where we were but definitely a trade off for being next to the river. They have some cute cabins along the river. You could fish right from your campsite if inclined.

Pluses: Location - the canyon is beautiful. Access for big rigs is good both for backing in and turning around. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rafting trips right on site a short walk across the parking lot. Guides were good, safety conscious and equipment was in good condition.

Bike rentals in town can take you up the the canyon for a 16 mile downhill ride. Beautiful scenery.

Safeway, City Market (Kroger), Walmart in town. Lots of good restaurant choices nearby, Near some of best flyfishing rivers in the country.

Biggest ripoff in 25 years of RV'ing. There is no wi-fi unless you go to the bar (buy drinks). Spotty cell service, dusty and dirty. Not big rig friendly as advertised, water and sewer are at the front of your site on the road!

In addition to $58. per night add $5.00 for each person over 2 including kids and $5. for each pet, but no pet walking area. There is no grass anywhere. The only thing truthful about their web site is the high prices, but there is no value for the price. We would never be back. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.
