Yes, you can get a big rig in, but be careful. Narrow, rough roads, tiered sites along a hillside, turns are adequate, sites are mostly level NARROW concrete with gravel sides. Campsites face each other so not much "privacy". We had incense burning campers next to us! Uggh. The park truly needs an overhaul. Roads need to be smoothed & more paving added, sites need to be re-leveled. Wifi good, but knocked me off several times. Staff closed the hot tub and heated pool by Sept 12. Office does not accept any mail or packages. Dump station on-site. Expensive rates for what you get. But, good location to head into the mountains, see Golden, shopping, plenty of restaurants within 10-20 minutes. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Our site was tight for our 43' motorhome and we had to really squeeze to get our F150 truck parked in front of the coach. If we parked our Harley in front of the coach, we had to park the F150 in the parking lot at the edge of the campground. Avalanche Harley-Davidson is 1 mile away. Camping World 5 min away. Red Rocks nearby too.

Dakota Ridge RV Park has paved roads and fairly level cement pad sites. The problem with the sites is they are short, 55' for a 45' Big Rig that is towing (site C-1)! Because of the short sites, the roads are very tight for maneuvering due to parked Toads/trucks in front and behind Big Rigs!! Because you CAN park a 45' DP does not make the park Big Rig "friendly"... You can get one in but be careful maneuvering! The WiFi worked reasonably well as did the power, water and sewer. BTW, the site connections are "side by side". The office staff were very polite and the grounds are well kept... Just a little crowded. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very tight sites, ours was level, next to heated pool, laundry expensive, no cable, wi fi fine probably because we were next to office. Too expensive. wanted to charge because we came early, site was empty so we waited an hour before they let us in our site.we will look for less expensive site in futur. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is clean and well maintained. Very tight for 45' motorhome. Turning into pull through required coach touching tree branches on right and bushes on left, but no damage. Front tire went way into lawn making large defect in soggy lawn. Our site was fairly level and jacks had no problem leveling. We did, however, see several coaches with tires on blocks to get level. In our 14 years of RV'ing I've never seen such a restrictive deposit policy. They charge 50% of entire stay as a deposit. Absolutely no refund policy. Due to mechanical problems it was necessary to cancel our 4 day reservation and they refused refund. They were kind enough to allow us to reschedule, so we came later to use the 2 night deposit. Another policy I've never seen is they will not accept any mail or packages. Our credit card had fraudulent usage and was canceled. I had instructed the bank to send new cards to this park. However they would not accept it. I had to call the bank and get the cards redirected elsewhere There was a list of rules posted behind the counter, more rules than I have seen before. One of the most interesting was "marijuana possession and use is prohibited". After all, this is Colorado! Wonder what they would do if someone had a joint in their coach? All that being said, it is a clean park with paved roads and cement pads. Nice folks in the office and they guide you to your site. The park was nearly full, so a lot of RV'ers are living with their policies. The neighbors are close, but there is grass between sites. We had room to park the tow car in front of coach. It's a good location with shopping and restaurants within 2-3 miles. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very clean and well-maintained park in a good location. Nice, clean showers. Like the other reviews, I agree some of the interior roads are tight. I do think if they would just enforce making folks park their cars and trucks fully off the asphalt roads, the situation would be much improved. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park is very clean! Great park near to Red Rock, Downtown Golden and Denver. About 1 hour from the Airforce Academy, 1 1/2 hours from Pikes Peak and about 1 1/2 hours from Rocky National Park. Made a reservation for our coach for a pull through, 50 Amp, full hookups. We rated them down based on how close everything is. This place is tight. side to side, end to end. As others have said, likely you will disconnect. They charge for everything. There are lamp posts placed toward the front of your site, very difficult to maneuver around them as you leave. The dump port was UP hill from our coach, a little inconvenient.... I think it will continue to make money for its owners, its location is good, but that covers the it. We will not stay here again. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Lots are very narrow and everyone is tightly packed side by side. I had mail sent to Dakota Ridge, it arrived the same day we did, and they refused it. Those of us that full time have to be able to receive our mail every couple of weeks. It would have been very helpful if they had just set aside my mail for a few hours until I got there. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for four nights over the July 4th holiday to visit two of our sons while we were inroute from Florida to Alaska. Three nights had the holiday rate of $54.00 and one night was $49.00; these do not include taxes. We were in site A13, which turned out to be the same site one of our sons stored his class C in a few years ago. Our site had a pretty much level concrete pad, although it was not long enough to hold both our TT and F150. Our patio area was grass and had a fair slope to it. Site A14's electric and water were pretty close to our patio area. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. There was no cable TV, but this not a big deal to us. There is a charge for any guest staying over 15 minutes. My wife said the pool and area were clean and very nice and the park itself is clean, neat and apparently well maintained. It is a bit expensive, for sure, but as others have said, location, location. Overall, we think this is a nice park, but to be honest, the next time we visit we will try to reserve someplace else, like Bear Creek Lake (we've stayed there before, but it was booked up ahead of this trip). We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Use to be a great park. Spaces are tight for big rigs. No cable, if your lucky to get a spot with trees you can use dish otherwise no tv. They charge you $5per day per person if someone comes to visit you, plus another $5 for a car and $10 per person if someone stays the night. We will no longer stay here as there are other great parks and very clean. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Here's what's good about this park: 1. It's close to the city. 2. The bathrooms are decent. 3. Water pressure! Not good about this park: 1. Everything else. The #1 problem with this place is that there is just no space. We have camped an average of 45 nights a year for the past 15 years, and this park has the least space per campsite of any campground I've ever been to. My travel trailer has more room in winter storage than we had at Dakota Ridge. When we arrived at 6:00 pm after a long drive, the office was already closed. When we found our site, the road was so narrow and the sites so tight that one of our neighbors had to come outside and move his vehicle. If he hadn't, we wouldn't have been able to get into the site. Even after he moved, it was still one of the most difficult back-ins I have ever had to execute. The site we were given for our 32 foot trailer was 33 feet long. It was not terribly level in either direction. There were little gravel areas to the side, but there's just no way that a tow vehicle was going there. Instead, I had to park on the far side of the park and walk back to my camper in the rain. Almost every inch of every road in the park is littered with the tow vehicles of campers who are trying to fit their tow vehicle into their site. Our site backed up to a drop-off, and the sewer was almost all the way to the back. A standard 15' sewer hose didn't reach, and was no way to back up to reach it. So, despite paying for full hook-ups, we still had to use the dump station. There is a metal shop across the street, hard at work, at 2:00 am. There is another factory or warehouse on the other side, directly behind our campsite, that begins work early in the morning. All of this could have been tolerated, if this campground had not been one of the most expensive RV parks we have ever stayed at, or even heard of. It's outrageous that the cost for this place is on par with the highest-end true resorts. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Conveniently located in Golden - especially if you're going to Red Rocks. We needed an RV park to stay at while in the area to go to a concert at Red Rocks. Other than hookups, we personally don't have use for much other campground amenities. We were placed in pull-through site H10. It's 65 feet long. Our 43' 5th wheel and truck fit on the site just barely, but it worked out fine for us. There's an overflow lot a hundred feet away that I could have used to park my truck if I wanted to. Our site had 50 amp power, water and sewer. All worked find. The pull through sites are setup buddy-style where the direction of the sites are flipped. This means we shared a front yard with a neighbor. We never used the front yard, so this didn't put us out a bit. Both sites had brand new Lifetime brand picnic tables - really nice. The sites are a bit close on the off-door-side but presented no issue as our off-door-side was next to another neighbor's off-door side. No issue at all here. The CG interior roads are paved. They have a an outdoor pool. I understand they have a hot tub. We never used it, nor know where it was. I believe they have laundry as well as we saw others walking with laundry bags. WiFi wasn't speedy but was easy to connect to and stay connected to. We'd stay here again. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We read the reviews and looked at each other "OH MAN WHAT HAVE WE DONE?" But this park is making improvements, all new picnic tables, nice groomed lawns and very polite and informative employees. Location was great, away from the hustle of Denver but close enough to run in when you wanted to. Our rig is 43' and it was tight but not too hard. Parking and leveling was something we had to take our time doing, we moved back 4 times to get the satellite and level a bit better for our weeks stay. Our tires are firmly on the ground but we needed our small step to cover the last step. We were pleased and you would go with your eyes open for the issues stated in other reviews. We don't see the bad but it could be our luck of the draw. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very expensive park - $59/night with Good Sam for a pull through in season. There is not much of a selection of campgrounds on the west side of Denver, so I guess the price seems reasonable. We had a reservation, but never got to use the park because of illness. So, I can't tell you if it would have been worth the cost. However, I want to warn everyone about their deposit policy. They require a 50% deposit of your FULL charges, including tax. So, if you spend a week, you could be looking at a deposit of well over $200. Most importantly, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE, even with advance notice of cancellation. And there are NO exceptions. They do indicate this on their reservation page, so it was not a surprise. Still, this is the most extreme deposit policy I have ever found with a campground. Maybe this is one reason why they had sites available when I first called when everything else was booked. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This isn't the kind of RV park we'd normally stay at, but we ended up here due to a problem with our motorhome that required us to change plans at the last minute. Every other place we called was sold out, but Dakota Ridge had spots available for a few days (we had to move sites once) and the staff was friendly and helpful at getting us a reservation. The park is conveniently located for visiting Denver and Golden, we had strong AT&T and Verizon signal, and the free WiFi worked reasonably well, though not exactly fast. Our sites were decently level, though we saw many other rigs with wheels up in the air or many leveling blocks under the tires. The pull-through sites are arranged in alternating directions so on your driver's side you are right next to your neighbor and share utilities between you, and you share your camping area with your other neighbor's camping area. We do not like this arrangement any time we come across it. There's a trail up a steep hill behind the park that leads to an open field with ATV trails criss-crossing it, where we walked our dog. The park has a lot of dog rules and in addition to signing them, we were told when checking in that our dog not be tied outside with us, nor could fencing be put up, and dogs aren't even allowed to be walked on guests RV sites, only the small (non-fenced) designated dog area. By the time we were leaving however, we'd noticed that many of the other residents there had dog fences, dogs tied outside with no one outside, etc. There's a fair bit of noise from the main road and nearby businesses. The park will not accept mail or packages for you. Interior roads are a little tight but manageable. While we are glad we found someplace to land for our repairs, and the staff was friendly and helpful, this isn't a park we're likely to come back to, especially at $63/night (Good Sam + tax). We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.
