Would not recommend. Nothing more than a parking lot. They turn off the water when it gets cold. They have picnic tables that they place on a hill. Water is every other site. No sewer. No trees. One shower facility. No other amenities. I have been to a number of fairgrounds and like this one the least. Their WiFi requires that you re-login frequently and blocked many sites (Netflix is a good example). Understandable with a large campground, but this one is very small. The wind comes off the mountain with no break. They have no trees or other shade. Don't show up at night unless you have support for backing in. It is pretty dim. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Location, location. Finding a spot in the Denver area is very hard. This park is near I70 and U.S. 6. Easy to get to most attractions. Tight spaces and a lot of turnover. Very nice picnic area and playground. Odd requirements to register. You must show proof of ins. and regist. for all vehicles. There are gravel pull throughs long enough for most rvs and nearby tow vehicle parking. A downside is little physical security. Park is open at night with no gate. Sheriff patrols occasionally. We had no problems but would have preferred more controls. Limited 50A sites. We would stay here again. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Fairly quiet location. Sites are close together so if you have a bunch of slides on both sides and use your awning you aren't going to be happy. Level gravel site. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

We rolled up midweek with no reservations. The amount of paperwork to get a site was crazy. DL, registration, proof of insurance. Then we had to be "escorted" to the pull thru 30 amp site. It must have taken nearly an hour to get from the gate to the site. The site is narrow and water, electric only. Gravel and right on top of the neighbors. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Easy highway access if you need a place to stay in Denver area. We had a 50 amp electric and water asphalt back-in site. Sites 8 - 12 are angled the wrong way for a driver's side back in and not that long. Sites 1 - 7 are straight back-ins and much longer sites. Sites would be cramped if all were full. Turn around dump station at end of road. Nice walking/bike path. The restrooms were the highlight - very clean and brightly lit and the showers were coded private stalls, very clean, warm, well-lit and hot water. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Okay, so this is NOT a resort, but more of place that you stay for a couple of days or less. For that, I HIGHLY recommend it. Also, this in one of the FEW decent places in the Denver area that allow RV older than 15 years!! We paid $40 a night for full hook-up; we only use electric though. Pros: 1.) Staff was excellent and super friendly. 2.) They only have one bathhouse, but the grounds are small so really no more are needed. 3.) The individual showers inside the bathroom areas have a code-entry for extra security. 4.) The bathhouse was always clean. 5.) They have a BRAND NEW playground that is rather large. 6.) They have a large, covered pavilion with picnic tables. Cons: 1.) They did not have a pull-through available, however it probably could have happened if I would have made prior arrangements; I just called right before heading over there. 2.) I had to leave my car dolly in a gravel parking lot on the grounds -- not in sight from my rv. No issues occurred, but I did not feel safe about it. 3.) Small check-in shack/shed that makes guests have to stand in the elements; although the attendant did invite us in to do the paperwork since it was raining. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

We found a spot in this RV park for a week-end without much notice, which was lucky. It's in the Denver metro area with close access to attractions in addition to events going on at the fairgrounds. The sites are close together and mostly in a big gravel parking lot. There are some shaded tent sites along the edge. Our site was close enough to our neighbors that they couldn't extend their awnings without hitting our slide, and we couldn't extend our awning all the way on the other side without hitting that neighbor. The only bathroom was near the entrance, so it was a few minutes walk away. The bathroom and shower were very clean and well-maintained. There was a portable john in the campground. Adjacent to the campground was a beautiful green area with a playground and picnic shelter. It was great for exercising our dog! We would stay here again for an urban experience. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

You can either park on pavement pretty well sandwiched in or park on gravel with much more room. We were on asphalt and neighbors really close by. Biggest problem is no sewer hookups anywhere-although they do have a dump. Bathrooms are good and cleaned frequently. Water pressure is excellent. Wifi looks expensive as you see transmitters everywhere but is fair to poor in actual use. Busy freeway adjacent to park. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

This is a perfect campground for an urban camping trip. It has great places to walk and include your dog. Its very close to the light rail. You can get to anywhere in Denver and the mountains. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn't give it an excellent is because the sites are unlevel, but hey, it's in the foothills. As others have commented, this is not a destination but it is a decent place to stay for a night or two. We stayed here because the campground we had stayed at during the week was booked for the weekend and we wanted to stay in the area. This park has a bizarre layout. We have a 45' rig and were assigned one the parallel spaces. Both the spots behind and in front of us were occupied so my husband had to parallel park the RV into a very tight space. It took a few tries, but he got down eventually. We were very close to our neighbors so don't expect any privacy in your outside area. There was a picnic bench though. There were some spots that looked like they had long term occupants, but these were camp hosts. The place didn't look run down, but it was a little cluttered and dirty. They have a very nice grass area that our 3 dogs enjoyed (not fenced in so no off leash) and they also have a dirt track where I took the dogs for a run. The one awesome thing about this park was the WiFi. It was fast and it never dropped. I would stay here again if I had to, but it's not a place I would go out of my way to visit. It was also fairly expensive for water and 30 amp only, no sewer. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

Easy access to the park with our larger sized 40'+ Big Rig RV but negotiating into spaces would be difficult if park is busy. Pricey for a basic park with no sewer. Great shower houses. Weirdest design for a campground I have ever seen. 30 amp RV's park parallel in spots along the main road or in a tight gravel parking lot. Newly paved 50 amp back-in sites put RV's within inches of each other; no room to walk between RV's if they have slides opened. With 12 (50 amp) sites available there were 6 RV's here during our stay all nonsensically parked side-by-side rather than every other spot. Some highway noise from I70 and Highway 6. We stayed here because this is the only place where we could get a site within 100 miles for Labor Day weekend and having no other choice is the only way we would stay again. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Ended up here after calling five other campgrounds around Denver, all with no openings for a Wednesday evening. This site could only accommodate us for one night, with all other sites being full. The check-in process is lengthly (around 5-10 minutes, there's extensive paperwork) and occurs at a little hut at the front of the campground, which means you must park in the middle of the main road in and out while you hop out to check in.

When pulling in (we were in the pull through open gravel area where sites 19-40 are located), Nothing is signed well. No arrows, no "enter here", nothing. We didn't know which way to enter for our hookups, so we had to swing a few loops to visually observe where everything was (not fun with a tow vehicle). When we finally settled in we were able to park fairly easy, leveling was okay and hookups were easy (electric on one side, water on the other, but since sites are so close, no issues with needing to get an extension hose. When we pulled into out sites (after a few laps), the woman who checked us in was heading over to unlock our electric hookups so don't expect being able to plug in ASAP. Didn't use the bathroom or shower, so no information on this.

Overall, this was an okay site for an okay price, given it's proximity to Denver and things to do. Wouldn't come here for the express purpose of this campground though. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Motorhome.

GPS had a little trouble getting us to the park but easy in/out for park after we got close enough. Roads were asphalt and 50 amp back-in sites were concrete. Sites were close together and utility hookups were interesting. Shared water was at the end of the site next to us, so need extra long hose. No sewer connections, so expensive for what you get. Location is good, though. Had a good line of sight for satellite dish. We might stay here again. We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a Destination Park, but it is good for a few nights. Clean park and friendly staff. Overpriced for the minimal facilities available. 50 amp sites are back-in only. Pull-thrus are 30 amp. Back-in sites are asphalt and very narrow. Dump station is available, but a little tight for a big rig. It's doable, though. Nice kiddy playground on site. Way overpriced for what they have to offer. Sites aren't long enough to stay hooked up for early departure , nor are they level enough to remain hooked up. (Had to raise the tongue over eight inches more than normal.) We camped at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.
