This park would be fine for an overnight stay. Clean restrooms, but many sites have permanent residents and were a bit shabby. Park is just off highway, but road noise wasn't noticeable at night. WiFi was good. We camped at Rocky Top Motel & Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo

The staff are incredibly sweet and helpful. The park is clean, but somewhat barren at the sites (no grass). The older playground equipment should be condemned and removed...it is old, rusty, full of splinters and just plain dangerous (especially the merry go round)! The newer playground equipment is fine, but the owner prefers only toddlers use it, even though it's not sized for toddlers. There are mountains surrounding the park, so the view is breathtaking no matter where you look! The store is well stocked. The game room is adequate and fun. It is the halfway point between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park, about 20 minutes from each. I would camp there again and I've recommended it to a few people. I agree with much of the previous review. The view is the best part of this campground, which is at the top of a canyon and there are pine covered hills on both sides. There are a lot of either seasonal or full time residents and many sites are messy. The sites are wide but not very deep so long rigs do not fit in all sites. All but 2 sites are back-ins and getting into a site can be a chore due to having to back in on the blind side and watching for other vehicles parked close to the road. The Wi-Fi had a strong signal but was quirky as we continually lost the connection. Campground is close to many activities and easy to get to so we might return if plans dictate as we met friends there. But we will check out other places first. This campground, together with an old motel, is on a hillside location. You have an awesome view on the valley and some mountains. The campground is located about 4 miles east of Woodland Park, CO. During the day you can hear the noise from highway 24, but during the night it was quiet. You can choose between electric only, water & electric or full hookup sites. Look at their price list. They have summer rates (mid May through Labor Day) and winter rates (rest of the year). The $31 reflects the daily rate for a full hookup with 2 persons during summertime. The roads and sites are gravel with weeds. Most sites have a small distance to the neighbor. Our site was badly leveled. We had very weak electricity on our site. Although we were connected to a 50 Amp receptacle, the voltage broke down to 105 V or less when we needed more than 20 Amp. The free Wi-Fi worked, but was not very fast. Some extended stay sites and the view on the storage area run down the quality of the campground. Although we were not quite taken from this campground it was probably the best choice in the area. I would have given 4 points if we didn’t have the problems with the electricity and if the campground would be better maintained. A scenic location, quiet nights, free Wi-Fi, and full hookups (if it works) are only the basics for a good campground, but for a higher rating they must offer more, especially for this price.
