Park is 12 miles west of Gunnison. Park is up steep hill. RV site is quite long, but most of it was hilly. Most of sites are permanent installations and not well kept. Vehicles parked in roads and some roads are dead ends. No real amenities. Park advertises wifi, but it is very sporadic. Cable tv is available. We got 2 out of 3 satellites on Dish to work. Cell phone coverage is nonexistent, but mountains in all directions. Park is quiet. The best thing about the park is the scenery. Blue Mesa Reservoir is across the highway. Location is great for mountain trails or fishing. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

They do not post their park policies/rules on the website and failed to mention until we arrived that they DO NOT permit campfires. They do have WiFi & will issue a UN/PW at check in but 1/2 of the UN/PWs failed to work. They have 2 washers and 4 dryers, two of which were broken. One washer is small and the other is large load capable. The bath/shower rooms have 1 toilet and 1 shower; the showers cost $2.00 that buys 5 min of hot water. After a day at the lake, my 16 y/o and 5 y/o daughters used the shower room. According to them, while inside, a lady banged on the locked door and with a southern accent yelled at them through the open window, saying something to the effect of, "Why don't you go somewhere else to take a f*#@ing shower?!" That is the level of clientele Gunnison Lakeside RV Park attracts! Likely due to long term residents, I suspect they have a rodent problem. A mouse got into our trailer shortly after we arrived, which we caught. I mentioned it to another camper and she said they had a rat in their fifth-wheel belly storage a year or two ago while at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park. When I mentioned the mouse to a staff member, I was told, "Well, we are in the mountains, we do have mice out here." Ummmm, okay. Thanks for the biology lesson but what do you as an RV resort do to eliminate, or at least reduce their rodent problem. In regards to long term residents, my friend was parked next to a long term resident. A park employee warned us not to disturb the person because they slept during the day and worked at night. Ummmmm, I don't give a rat's @$$ what time they work! I'll respect the park's quiet hours and that's about it! We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Purchase some Bonide Repels-All Animal Repellent (http://www.walmart.com/ip/Bonide-Products-238-Repels-All-Anml-Repellent-Rtu/25762694) and spray all around and under your RV, as well as any retaining walls adjacent to your site.

puddleduck, owner at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins responded to this review

Thank you for pointing out that our policies were not posted on our web site. They are now.
I'm sorry you had trouble with your un/pw on our wifi. Had you asked for help we would have gladly provided a custom password that would have been easier to use.
I'm also sorry you had a mouse in your camper. We use products to help prevent this, but have to keep them at a safe distance from people, pets, rabbits and chipmunks but some can escape our best efforts. There are numerous products on the market to help avoid this very common problem and you can find lengthy threads on RV forums to help.
As far as the woman using foul language to your children. Had we been notified at the time she would have been asked to leave immediately.
We take your comments seriously we constantly try to provide our customers with an enjoyable experience.

Great views in eastern row. We faced east looking out toward Gunnison, 12 miles away..the nearest town. Eastern row all full time mobile homes, not RV's. Had grass right out or door. Site was reasonable level. Park is across the highway from Blue Mesa Lake. NOTE. Little cell service. I had to keep walking the park near the highway to stay connected. Could not get our Verizon hot spot to work. They give you two of their codes but each additional is$5. Never been charged for hook ups like that. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Park is basically right on Blue Mesa Reservoir which was good for us as we were here to fish, and a nice public boat ramp across the highway from park. There are lots of permanent residents, but all is fairly well kept. Quiet hours are abided by, and the staff is friendly. We will stay again. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Lovely fall scenery with a lake view from our site. Nice people in the office. Great overnight if you are traveling Hwy 50. If you are a fisher person or boater and want hook ups this would be a good choice. My only complaint is the shower. I really do expect a free shower at private parks. They have very limited bathroom facilities. One Ladies and one Gentlemens which are just like your bathroom at home--one john, shower and sink ( too limited for 67 sites). Most folks don't care about this but it is big with me. I would have given them an 8 if they had better bathrooms. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 3 days in Sept to see the colors changing. Our pull through site was long and level, the WiFi and TV were acceptable, the owners were friendly and helpful and the campground was clean and well cared for. We will stay again when we are in the area. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Paid $42.79 for two nights, Passport America rate with taxes. We had a nice long fairly level 50 amp full hook up site with good Wi-Fi. Our Verizon was at the very edge of its service area. TV was bad, no batwing, but cable had some over the air signals, but we did not get much. I ran the coax straight into the back of our front TV, had a couple of PBS type stations. If you fish, a great place to stop. But other than that, its just a pit stop along US-50. Overall, a decent place for a short stay. Very nice helpful folks here. We camped here over the the 4th of July weekend. The location is close to the Stevens Creek launch point at Blue Mesa Reservoir. The pros: - Very close to the lake - Friendly staff - Clean restrooms - Well-stocked store The cons: - Showers are pay and require $2 for about 10 minutes worth of hot water. - The WiFi is not too bad, but they only give you a password for ONE device. Do not download a lot of data or they will cut you off. They have limited internet options due to their location and they will monitor you if you download too much content (such as watching a moving on Netflix) - Cell phone service very limited (Verizon) which may be good or bad depending on if you need the service or not - The sites were not very level (property is on the lower side of a hill) - When we were there, there were a lot of flying bugs (not biting, but annoying) and not something that the owners could control. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Just got back from our Colorado vacation! This was was the perfect spot for our stay in the Gunnison area. It was across from Blue Mesa Reservoir where we put in our boat. No problem getting our unit to our pull through space. There was plenty of room for our dog to walk without distractions. Easy on & off from Hwy 50 and very quiet. Owner's were very friendly and helpful. This is a place to go back to. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an nice rural RV Park, about 8 or 9 miles out of Gunnison, across the road from Blue Mesa Lake. We paid the Passport America rate, with an extra $2/night charge for an extra wide site. We got the wider site so we could socialize with fiends who were also staying in the park. The gravel sites are level, and the hookups all work and are readily accessable. There are trees in the area, making the park attractive, but they are placed so we had no trouble getting satellite access for TV. Telephone service with Verizon was poor. There is a hot spot, near the office where telephone calls can be made. Internet via Verizon MiFi, did not work, and the park wi-fi was very very slow. I found that using that service, I was unable to reach some Internet sites requiring passwords. We would stay at this park again, but the poor telephone and Internet access was very annoying. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Easy access off the highway between Gunnison and Montrose, but no significant road noise. We were there for 3 days, and it was a great "base camp" for our ventures to crested butte, Gunnison, black canyon, and the recreation area. Close to the lake if you are a boater. Nice staff. They had kind of a weird setup where the pads were really long, and had connections on both sides. The intent being they could park short/medium sized rigs back to back. It wasn't busy, so that wasn't the case for us, but for some reason they still had us back in, even though the other half was empty. Internet was slow, but they tell you that upfront. Overall I would stay there again We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Travel Trailer.

If friendly office staff would make a campground, this place would be a 10. It is on the side of the hill above the Blue Mesa Lake. It is ten miles West of Gunnison. The roads are dirt! The dust is nasty. They stress driving slow to hold down the dust. Our site was gravel and somewhat level as it was terraced into the hill. The utilities were reliable. One strange thing we thought was that it cost $2 to take a shower. 8 quarters in a slide box like a washing machine. I thought showers came with camping! The Wi-Fi is really iffy if you are parked very far up the hill, and our Verizon air card had only one bar. We did stay connected but slow was an understatement. Many campers stay for months at a time, and lots of sites had park models on them. Some were not very new and generally less inviting. They did remove one of the older ones while we were there. The road to the West was mobile homes. There was a pavilion in the center of camp, that had country music singers on the weekend. They were quite pleasant, and we enjoyed the music. Something we didn't expect! This is somewhat of a fishing camp however. After all its on a lake. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

Sites were not level. Verizon MiFi was slow but worked. Gunnison's WiFi was barely useable for mail. $17 Passport America price makes this a good overnight. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.

The sites are large and plenty long for any towed vehicle; but have trees in the way of running slides out. The management is friendly and helpful, but we never did manage to get the local 5 TV channels. They blamed our cable wire, which has worked at ever other site around the country. The roads within the park are very dusty, although the site itself has gravel. It is located 11 miles west of Gunnison itself. It is not lakeside at all. In fact it is across the highway from a state run campground that is on the lake. We camped at Gunnison Lakeside RV Park & Cabins in a Motorhome.
