This is an older park and the site we had was very hard to maneuver into and out of. Utilities worked fine but internet was not good so don't count on it. It appears half of the park is okay and the other half is not great. I would suggest asking for a spot on the left side of the park as you come in. Park needs updating and maintenance. Owner very nice. Water pressure not good. Internet non-existent unless you go to office area. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Many well-maintained cottonwoods in the park so good shade. As stated in other reviews, Wifi was very spotty, whether from coverage or folks streaming videos when I only wanted to check weather, stuff to do, or restaurants: frustrating. Restrooms/showers probably undersized for the size of the park but very clean. Park is very convenient to Crested Butte and everything in the Gunnison valley. Very limited fire rings which was great - no smoke haze hanging over the whole park. Sites were tight but we tend to get out and stay away all day anyway. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Garlic Mike's is a great Italian restaurant only 0.3 miles away. One can walk there and stagger home. Mario's Pizza in town is a great hole-in-the-wall. If there is a rainy day, go to the pioneer museum in town - great local history. Beer selection is better at Safeway than Citi Mart.

Very nice park with cottonwood trees for shade. Lots are very close but quiet. Has propane gas for sale. Concrete patio, but the site wasn't very level. Not a real problem though. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 30 days, we were flooded the first night by rising water and poor drainage. The cottonwood trees was shedding cotton every day and dripping sap on the motor home and we were not allowed to wash the outside. The owner would not even listen to a complaint and was very rude. At one time it was a very nice park and the former owners were very nice. The new owner is a real jerk and very unreasonable. The roads are all dirt and dusty, he does not oil the roads anymore and the area is getting run down. Lost power several times and the water pressure was very low for a good shower and took forever to get a sink of water to wash dishes. We will never go back because we don't need the confrontations by the owner. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

Good, quiet location on edge of town--away from highway and on road leading to Crested Butte and beautiful Colorado back country. Pull through sites seem very dense--close together and short with somewhat narrow roads, but enough room to open awnings and use slide outs. All spaces have picnic table and concrete patio. We recommend the dry camping tent area or full hook up sites by the pond--considerably more spacious. Campground has nice added feature of large indoor space--kind of a clubhouse with tables and chairs for informal gatherings. Also has a nice outside covered picnic area for groups. Extra charge for a third adult and another extra charge for an extra vehicle. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rate was for a week's stay and also includes the $3/day extra for 50amp. We stayed here late season, so the park was emptying out. The fall colors there were gorgeous, and there's a sweet little stream that runs alongside. The owner put us in one of the best sites, after I asked for a satellite-friendly one (the cg is in a cottonwood forest). We had no problem getting signal with our roof-mounted dish and so enjoyed the beautiful location!! The sites near/next to the pond are lovely! Also found the owner to be very friendly and helpful when we needed extra hands for loading equipment. He obviously works hard to keep the cg in good shape and to help people into and out of their sites. I don't understand the other recent, rather poor, reviews of this place! We have done part-full time RVing for almost 6 years now and found this to be a very nice cg! And the so-called "trashy trailer park" another reviewer referred to wasn't visible/noticeable to us from the cg (in fact, I couldn't see it well enough to know if it was trashy or not!). We have a 40' motorhome and would definitely stay here again, esp. late season. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

The City Market is my absolute favorite grocery store, and is only a mile or two from the cg. They also have a great deli that sells very good chicken lunches for cheap!

Probably was once a good family RV park. Nice log cabin style buildings. Beautiful outside pavilion, but all was run down with no activity for guest. When we arrived things were not right. Entrance was overgrown with tree limbs rubbing side of rig. Part of office ceiling had falling down. Guided us thru the back forty and parked us beside a year around renter. Grass had not been mowed. Would not stay here again. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Our 5th Wheel had broke a spring and we were towed to this park. We couldn't have been happier! This is a quiet little park nestled among many tall trees. This is a very well kept RV park. The host was very gracious. The restrooms/showers/laundry are spotless. We were not able to connect to Wi-Fi from our site, but we had a MIFI we use anyway. They had a potluck on July 4th and there are plenty of activities going on such as crafts and cards. We don't normally stay in RV parks, but we'd definitely go back to this one. We were there for 2 weeks waiting for our 5th wheel to be fixed. The only negative was it was very dusty and cotton was flying all around. The owner had the park fogged twice for mosquitos while we were there. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful setting. The manager is a gracious host. We stayed two nights at end of season; just two others in rv park. Made for a nice feeling of seclusion. Previous reviewers had indicated wifi available only by managers home. This is what we were told upon checking. He placed us in site #6 which had great wifi. For sure ask for this site! I would have rated this a 10 except for the price. Our price with tax came to $42.32. Many rv camps discount at end of season; this one doesn't. A bit disappointed, but Gunnison is a special Colorado town. Paying full price with wifi potentially not being user friendly within one's camper is an issue that was noted by other reviewers. Cable worked great. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

A very nice quiet park. Some seasonal RVs, but not a problem. Many have beautiful flowers in pots that really are beautiful. Pull-through site was pretty level, with nice cement area for picnic table. Sites are about your average closeness. Walking distance to river and a nice bike path into town. The downside to this is the Wi-Fi. You have to be in the office/community room to get any Wi-Fi, or standing right outside. Was told the trees would interfere with the Wi-Fi. We were also disappointed to find this office/game room area was closing at 7:30 pm so we could not use the tables to play games or sit and use the Wi-Fi. The $41 a night reflects a 10 night stay and an extra $3 a day if you want 50 amp. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at this park in 2012 and were glad to return this year. Very nice park, very clean, level spaces and lots of grass, all spaces have a concrete pad. The spaces around the pond are very spacious and lovely. There is also a cottonwood area which is nice and shady but the spaces are a little tight in that area. Friendly staff, very quiet. This is will most likely continue to be our favorite place to stay when we come back to explore the Gunnison and Crested Butte area. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

Lots of cottonwood trees at this park providing welcome shade, but making it a little difficult to get full satellite service. All sites have a concrete patio and picnic table. Some sites are situated around the pretty pond. Some road noise from nearby Hwy 135 during the day, but very quiet at night. Good laundry facilities. Decent 4G Wi-Fi. We would stay here again. I will start with the positive. The park is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly. The sites are a good size and are comfortable. The sites by the pond are very shaded and have a nice view. Negatives, the Wi-Fi as advertised does not work unless you take your device up to the office. We were in site #55 and those sites in this area are backed up to a county road and mobile home park. Parking was an issue because they did not have enough parking spaces per site. We also were facing their station where propane was sold and a covered carport. Other areas did have a nice view. Cable actually only has 6 stations. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here last year and came back. Still the best lil' RV park anywhere -- except for the wifi. You had best bring your own cellular Internet connection device. And they have the best price anywhere. One low price for everyone, no "camping club" membership B.S. We camped at Tall Texan Campground in a Motorhome.
