This is such a pleasantly surprising campground. Don't be turned off by the look or the website. We "had" no choice but to book a night here and I'm so happy we did. I guess it's a good place for a night or two, but since everything feels so pleasant I could see myself staying longer. We were in site 7 and we could hear the river flowing, we had great view. The wifi works good much better than fancy campgrounds we've been to. It feels like a place that I could get some down time, just relax and enjoy. It's very quite since it sits far back from the highway. Water pressure is good and a very friendly owner. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Fifth Wheel.

Small park along river. Managers were very nice and helpful. Worked with us when we were stuck in previous park. Not charging us for two missed days and even gave us our discount for a weeks stay when we were only there for five nights. The mountains were spectacular and snow covered. The road was winding like the river. Very small town. Restaurant says open 7 days a week. Not so. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Did not go. River rafting, rock climbing, four wheeling into mountains and sight-seeing are available. Rained almost every day-late May. Would stay here again. Our site was next to pond and watched muskrat and birds and horses. River was high and fast from all the rain and snow melt. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Motorhome.

This is a really cute park. It's got about 20 spots, all spread out, (#1-4 are by far the best, try for those), cabins, hotel, etc. Easy hookups, in the right place and more importantly out of the way when you are getting backed in. Not all spots are big rig capable, but certainly a good percentage of them are. (We camped here in a 45' motorhome.) It's on the river side of the highway, most spots are within 50' of the river and none are really further away than 150'. They have a cowboy singalong with BBQ on Saturday nights. (We did not attend, but they had a good turnout.) It's confusing as to which place it is when you initially pull in, but its becomes pretty obvious. Super nice people, very clean campground, restrooms were very clean, showers were decently clean. Great place to walk your dogs along the river on both sides. If you get up early in the morning and walk a bit, you can see the elk coming down to drink at the river. It needs a store. Doesn't have to be huge, but needs silly snacks, camping stuff, etc. I was told that they were leasing out a building to a restaurant operator in August and would have a restaurant operating soon. You should verify. We would camp here again. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Motorhome.

We stayed here last August for a month and came back this year to spend the summer! Along the Arkansas river, in the country. Great hosts, very friendly. They put on a Cowboy dinner, complete with a wagon ride and cowboy singing and line dancing. Not fancy, but comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Also have motel rooms and 3 cabins. Close to Salida and many attractions. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Motorhome.

The owners here are the best we have ever met. He bent over backwards to accommodate us for a pull through that they do not have, normally. Since they were not full, we actually took up 2 spaces. Sites 1-4 are along the river and it was a great night's stay. This RV Park is not the best but hookups were great and if you stay in 1-4, you will like it. We were here only 1 night. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Motorhome.

The $14 rate represents Passport America which is available for two nights: it's $28 after that. In 11 years of full-timing, I have never stayed where the owners were nicer. This is a very small park, right along the Arkansas River. They have RV sites, a motel, cabins and even horse accommodations. The sites are full hook up, and many are back-ins but very easy, not tight like some places. Couldn't get online with Verizon, but the Wi-Fi worked so that was fine. Right across the river, is the old main road, where you can walk for hours with spectacular mountain views. I planned to stay two nights and stayed for six. It's a short drive to Salida. One night they had a horse drawn wagon ride and the owners put on a brisket BBQ dinner and sang cowboy songs. It was really fun. If you want a resort, this may not be the place for you. But if you want a nice place to stay I couldn't recommend it more. We camped at Bandera's Bunkhouse in a Travel Trailer.
