We are on a 3.5 mo. trip and have stayed at multiple KOAs. This one was truly awful. The gal at check in was very friendly and when she saw we were 42 feet she suggested we take a bigger site than the one we reserved. Site 41 looked out in tractor, trailer, broken up concrete, etc. The guy who pulled into the site next to us just before us, hit a pickup truck the turn was so tight and the p/u owner was parked half in the road. Police were called. No one ever came from KOA that we saw to tell the guy to move his truck. Interior roads very tight. Our table had cobwebs and so did the fire pit. Never saw anyone cleaning. WiFi was so so. Would not recommend and would not return. Dry camping at a Walmart would have been an improvement We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

Other than the normal observation that it's a typical pricey KOA, this is a very nice place. The sites are fairly level, but pretty close together. All of the sites and roads are gravel. Walmart and several restaurants are close by. Check-in was easy (online reservation). We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Older KOA park located off Route 50. Signage hard to see as it's set back from road. We used GPS, and had to slow down in order not to miss entrance. Check in was easy, friendly staff however just explained how to get to site, didn't review amenities or bathroom location. That's a first with any park we have stayed at. Our site was gravel/dirt, close to level, full utilities. There was a concrete patio with fire pit but it was located at back of rig. We stayed in the back, no mature trees at our site so we were able to get satellite. Don't think they had cable but they did have WiFi. We use our own hot spot instead. The dog park was gravel/sand, very little grass in entire park to walk dogs. Bathrooms were clean, however grounds need to be better maintained. They do have a small pool and inflatables for the kids. Thought it was way overpriced for the condition of the park. OK for an overnight stay. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

What a lovely place! The entire park is covered in pea gravel and the place is immaculate. The office staff an owner were so nice and they welcomed us with cold bottles of water. I used their laundry room and it was pleasant. I would happily stay here again. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

Not a KOA fan but it was the first available CG we found going east from Pueblo CO on Hwy 50. Typical smallish KOA. Sites cramped but adequate for one night. Excellent Wi-Fi. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

As others have mentioned, this is a KOA that is clean and work is being done to make improvements. The only problem we had was because of our size. When we made reservations we requested a long site explaining we were 45' and towing. We knew we would have to unhook. The site was just long enough for our rig but the problem is width and how the water/electric is setup at least for our rig. We could not open the slide due to electrical and water being on higher poles. Because of width we could not move enough to make it work. It was really set up for either shorter vehicles or 5th wheels. The roads to the sites were fine and the place is clean and personnel very helpful. Just have to realize the width and the impact rocks have when used to separate sites. Smaller rigs at this location were not having the same issues. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The people working at this KOA are really doing great things to improve this location and for smaller rigs it would be a good location since they are close to Walmart and food locations.

Owners making great strides in developing this park. Great customer service. Infrastructure a bit limited - park hemmed in by a creek on one side and a shopping plaza on the other. Level site long enough for my 65'; some other reviewers commented on the train - the tracks are not near the park, and though you can tell there is a train passing, it was not disruptive. Tips for other Campers:

The entrance sign is rather small and indiscreet - when you see the Wal-Mart, you better have eyes on the KOA sign. We missed it and had to double back - GPS was no help at the time.

Tips for other Campers:

Needs to upgrade some of the spaces so that they are long enough for pull vehicle and rig. Owners are only just out of their first year and are making progress with upgrading the park. Convienent to restaurants and if you want good Mexican food, visit Felisa's as they can handle big and small groups and have fast service. Close to Walmart and fuel stations as well/

This park is not very attractive. Staff was nice, but confused. They asked us to pay at the desk, even though they had charged our credit card when the reservation was made the day before. They took us to the site they registered for us and another trailer was there. So they took us to the back of the park, next to a tractor. Spaces were adequate, but rocks placed at edges of the site made entry and exit difficult for our 39' fifth wheel. Dog park is small, but had nice agility play equipment. I would have rated the park several points higher but for the price. The value for this type of facility is in the $30-35 range. They charged us $45 base, plus $10 for our dog. That's a lot for dirt, gravel and a tractor view. The park appears to mostly have long term residents. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Had to unhitch to get diesel. Loves is probably best of three choices, but there's barely space for a truck. No possibility of getting a trailer in.

Mostly buddy sites up front (you face your neighbor and tables for each site are side by side between RVs. That's fine if your a group camper but otherwise sites are close and not very private. Back sites are a little wider with grass between each site. They have Gravel interior roads and sites are level. Fairly easy to maneuver around campground, we were hauling a 40ft fifth wheel. Our site was long enough for our RV and had to park our truck crosswise at the front of the site to fit it in. Lots of road noise and loud banging, maybe dumpsters being dumped at stores on the other side of the fence? They say that they have excellent wifi but I could not stay connected with any of my devices. Staff was nice and easy to talk to. They said they were emailing me our receipt but have not received it as of yet so if your wanting one you should ask for a paper copy. Not my favorite place but a good place to stop for a night or two. Walmart is within walking distance. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We actually paid $5 extra for 9/2 due to holiday weekend. Didn't realize it would be more. We were looking for a place to stay on our return trip home so we wouldn't encounter a lot of holiday traffic. We drove to John Martin Reservior State Park to check out the campground. We would prefer it over this park next time we are in this area. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

A standard KOA experience. Good enough but nothing special. Note to be careful of the water. Ours ran rusty, (straight from the spigot), for about ten gallons of flow before becoming clear. We were grateful for our water filtration. Some kind prior neighbor left dog waste just near my hookups. That told me that maintenance does not check sites after folks leave. In 3 years of extensive RVing, this is our first KOA. As seniors we do not need the extensive amenities/cost. This was, however, THE choice in La Junta. The park was fine on all levels although a tad noisy at times. Site was level, utilities were fine. Had no WiFi at the site the first day. Second day went to rec room and had slow but usable service. That evening and the next morning it worked. When it did not work I went to the office twice and one of the young people was supposed to come to our trailer. Never showed up. This was a bit frustrating. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I reserved a full hookup site here for 2 days while visiting the town of La Junta and Bent's Old Fort. As others have said, I missed the road at first, but there is easy access from the road to the Wal-Mart right next door.

Restrooms were very clean and laundry facilities were great. My site was small (I have a 20' a-frame) just large enough for my camper but my tow vehicle stuck out. It was in full sunlight, but there are other spots that have shade. Beware that the shady areas have thousands of no-see-ums in the trees so you will need a screen room to spend quality time outside your trailer in the shady spots. My spot had no bugs at all. The pool is very nice and clean.

There is a opening in the fence to allow you to walk over to the Wal-Mart without going out on the road. WiFi was pretty much nonexistent during the day and very slow at night.

Overall a nice place. I had to cancel my second night due to my air conditioning going out. I was not given a refund for that night. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was just an overnight stop, but all of our dealings with the staff were wonderful. We parked in the newer section which has long pull-throughs. The patio slabs were in an odd location, at least for a motorhome. The sewer opening was quite a distance from the water and power' so we had to jockey the rig around a bit. There is a nice dog park and play equipment for the kids. There is also a pool. We missed the entrance to the park. They used a truck for a large sign. We never saw a smaller sign. But, we were able to turn into the neighboring WalMart and come into the park on a small frontage road. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.
