Mostly buddy sites up front (you face your neighbor and tables for each site are side by side between RVs. That's fine if your a group camper but otherwise sites are close and not very private. Back sites are a little wider with grass between each site. They have Gravel interior roads and sites are level. Fairly easy to maneuver around campground, we were hauling a 40ft fifth wheel. Our site was long enough for our RV and had to park our truck crosswise at the front of the site to fit it in. Lots of road noise and loud banging, maybe dumpsters being dumped at stores on the other side of the fence? They say that they have excellent wifi but I could not stay connected with any of my devices. Staff was nice and easy to talk to. They said they were emailing me our receipt but have not received it as of yet so if your wanting one you should ask for a paper copy. Not my favorite place but a good place to stop for a night or two. Walmart is within walking distance. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is not very attractive. Staff was nice, but confused. They asked us to pay at the desk, even though they had charged our credit card when the reservation was made the day before. They took us to the site they registered for us and another trailer was there. So they took us to the back of the park, next to a tractor. Spaces were adequate, but rocks placed at edges of the site made entry and exit difficult for our 39' fifth wheel. Dog park is small, but had nice agility play equipment. I would have rated the park several points higher but for the price. The value for this type of facility is in the $30-35 range. They charged us $45 base, plus $10 for our dog. That's a lot for dirt, gravel and a tractor view. The park appears to mostly have long term residents. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Had to unhitch to get diesel. Loves is probably best of three choices, but there's barely space for a truck. No possibility of getting a trailer in.

Tips for other Campers:

Needs to upgrade some of the spaces so that they are long enough for pull vehicle and rig. Owners are only just out of their first year and are making progress with upgrading the park. Convienent to restaurants and if you want good Mexican food, visit Felisa's as they can handle big and small groups and have fast service. Close to Walmart and fuel stations as well/

A standard KOA experience. Good enough but nothing special. Note to be careful of the water. Ours ran rusty, (straight from the spigot), for about ten gallons of flow before becoming clear. We were grateful for our water filtration. Some kind prior neighbor left dog waste just near my hookups. That told me that maintenance does not check sites after folks leave. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We actually paid $5 extra for 9/2 due to holiday weekend. Didn't realize it would be more. We were looking for a place to stay on our return trip home so we wouldn't encounter a lot of holiday traffic. We drove to John Martin Reservior State Park to check out the campground. We would prefer it over this park next time we are in this area. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

In 3 years of extensive RVing, this is our first KOA. As seniors we do not need the extensive amenities/cost. This was, however, THE choice in La Junta. The park was fine on all levels although a tad noisy at times. Site was level, utilities were fine. Had no WiFi at the site the first day. Second day went to rec room and had slow but usable service. That evening and the next morning it worked. When it did not work I went to the office twice and one of the young people was supposed to come to our trailer. Never showed up. This was a bit frustrating. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Walmart is right next door, even a path from the back of the park. Little Caesar's Pizza and Village Inn Restaurant are within walking distance. Major attraction is Old Bent's Fort which is well worth a visit and free admission this year.

I reserved a full hookup site here for 2 days while visiting the town of La Junta and Bent's Old Fort. As others have said, I missed the road at first, but there is easy access from the road to the Wal-Mart right next door.

Restrooms were very clean and laundry facilities were great. My site was small (I have a 20' a-frame) just large enough for my camper but my tow vehicle stuck out. It was in full sunlight, but there are other spots that have shade. Beware that the shady areas have thousands of no-see-ums in the trees so you will need a screen room to spend quality time outside your trailer in the shady spots. My spot had no bugs at all. The pool is very nice and clean.

There is a opening in the fence to allow you to walk over to the Wal-Mart without going out on the road. WiFi was pretty much nonexistent during the day and very slow at night.

Overall a nice place. I had to cancel my second night due to my air conditioning going out. I was not given a refund for that night. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was just an overnight stop, but all of our dealings with the staff were wonderful. We parked in the newer section which has long pull-throughs. The patio slabs were in an odd location, at least for a motorhome. The sewer opening was quite a distance from the water and power' so we had to jockey the rig around a bit. There is a nice dog park and play equipment for the kids. There is also a pool. We missed the entrance to the park. They used a truck for a large sign. We never saw a smaller sign. But, we were able to turn into the neighboring WalMart and come into the park on a small frontage road. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

Stayed overnight, was sited on the W side of the campground in direct sun on a 99 F day even though there were plenty of shaded spots available. Recommend requesting a shaded spot, esp. in the summer. WiFi was good but slow. Hook-ups are located near the front of the stall. making it a reach to get electrical/water hookups. Nice park, nice helpful folks in the office. Spots are pretty tight with the pull through that was not really a pull through as there were many truck from pipeline workers parked making the exit from the spot impossible. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The Wi-Fi was pretty good at the spot we checked in. The cable TV was OK. The park is pretty cramped and filled with full timers from a pipe line. Water pressure in the morning was really low. About 15 lbs per my pressure regulator meter. Come to find out the owners were having the grass watered during the time most people would be showering in the morning. Didn't have enough pressure to shower. Hardly enough to even flush the toilet. Big price for poor basic service. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

There is very little to pick from in this area of Colorado. We are not "KOA" types, but wanted to take in the historic parts of this area, as well as Bent's Fort, so we went with this selection. Most of the park was occupied by road crews and other seasonal workers. Also, it is obvious that much of the remaining parts of the park are "long timers." So, as you look at number of sites available, that is drastically reduced by the above "tenants." In speaking with the front desk, he virtually has only 5-8 spots to work with until September, so if you are traveling through this part of Colorado, I would strongly suggest reservations. We had to make due with a 30 amp site, as all of the 50 amp sites were taken. The pool was being redone, so it was not available. The "dog park" was small, and sandy, but made due. The office staff was very helpful and friendly!!! In fact, I needed to fax some paperwork, and they were able to do that with very little effort. The laundry room was clean but only had 2 dryers for the 4 washers, which were always busy due to the seasonal tenants. I would stay here again simply because the office staff was so helpful. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stopped over at this KOA for one night. Not sure I would make this a multiple night stay as there is not much in the area and the facilities are pretty spare. Small playground not much in the recreation room. They have added many new sites on gravel with a picnic table on a concrete slab. The biggest issue we had is probably 80% or more of the campground is housing construction workers who have been there long term, while no one was unfriendly we felt out of place. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Motorhome.

The man who checked us in was very friendly. We had a pull-through with electric, water, cable, and sewer. WiFi is available for free. The park is very clean and has an elaborate "dog run." There are a lot of trees and plenty of green grass The restrooms are absolutely spotless. It is in a rustic setting with a train crossing nearby. There are a lot of permanent residents who work for the highway department and leave early for work. I would happily stay in this park again. We camped at La Junta KOA in a Travel Trailer.
