2 Parks near La Veta, Colorado
Aug 2015 - $35.00
This is the nicest park in LaVeta. There is a "mobile home and RV" park across the street, not to be confused with this jewel. Lucy's RV park is on the other side of town and at a three-way stop and much more crowded. Super friendly owner, who is a great spokesperson for the local Chamber of Commerce. They have the month's activities on their web site and staff pass around fliers with this week's community activities. This park is within walking distance of downtown. Don't miss the Ryus Street Bakery, only open three or four days a week for fresh baked goods. Lots of space between each site, with room for your slide and awning. The only thing I didn't like about this park is their picnic tables are permanently mounted and can't be moved. Nice dog run, and the Cucharas River (really only a creek) runs down one side of the park. Deer in the park nightly. - scouter

I wanted to rate this a 9 only because they don't have cable, but this place was so nice, and the owners were so accommodating and welcoming, that I had the overlook the cable issue and give them a 10. To show they think of everything, they have a substantial DVD library for you to borrow from to compensate for no TV. We couldn't get
over-the-air channels, but some had their satellite dishes out, so I assume that works. The sites are FHU, gravel, back-in sites with a picnic table that are easily leveled and are spacious. Our site was a creek-front site, and there was room behind the MH to sit and listen to the creek. The laundry room, as well as the entire campground, was very clean. A new WiFi system was installed while we were there, and it was excellent.
This is a wonderful, quiet, and peaceful CG. We were traveling to Durango from Denver. If ever in the area again, we won't even look for anything else...nothing would compare. - Gayle E.

We really enjoyed this small campground. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. They have done a lot of work and it is obvious that they really care about their campground and the guests that stay there. There was a nice game room, outdoor patio area, banquet room for large groups, small gift shop with handmade goodies and a nice dog run. We are already thinking of going back in the fall to enjoy the aspens! - mikesylvia

What a nice little park. Nothing fancy about it at all, and the amenities are limited, but the owners are friendly as can be, the park itself is neat as a pin, and it's very quiet. The sites are somewhat smallish and lots of trees mean you'll have to be a little extra careful getting in/out of the sites, but I didn't see anyone have a serious problem, even with big rigs. The WiFi was strong and steady. The tiny village of La Veta has its charm, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. I'd come back in a heartbeat. - JohnTucson
Jun 2012 - $26.00
Charming little park made better by the owners and staff. They treat you like family the entire time you're there. The sites are tight if the park is full but while we were there, that only happened on the weekend. Nice mountain breezes so we didn't need to run our A/C. There is no 50 amp service at this park, so the breezes were appreciated. No OTA TV signal. Very poor Verizon signal but very good free Wi-Fi! The town is quaint and charming also. Many galleries and little shops. Much to see and do in the area. Highly recommend this park! - Gypsy Turtles
May 2012 - $13.00
This is a great park with a friendly and helpful staff. The sites are gravel, many with grass and lots of shade trees. This is a great place to spend the summer! This price reflects the monthly rate. - hoppynme2
