This Campground is a little out of the way for an overnight but it is great for a longer stay. We went for a premium site that was along the river for the extra 5.00 and it was very nice to hear the water running all the time. The campground is very neat and clean. They have a great common area that has a propane fire pit which is very nice to gather at night. The service was exceptional. The hosts were very easy going and helpful. We would definitely stay again given the opportunity to be in the area. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Highway of the Legends drive is very nice.

They have a very limited number of 50 amp spots, so check on that if you require that. We were there with a group & they were very accommodating to us all. Site was back-in & was pretty level.

Gravel - Dirt with a picnic table. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

The campground was very clean and neat looking. There were many shade trees and small stream running along one side of campground. Some nights they had a campfire for the entire camp. Very helpful if you needed help.

We stayed there for 10 days and hope to stay there again soon. Great WiFi.

One of the nicest parks we have stayed in . We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed three days exploiting town and countryside. Park quiet, well cared for. Big trees provide some shelter from winds. Sites have good room between campers. Had an AC problem which hosts helped us get a good man to fix. They recommend places in town to eat. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A gourmet restaurant in town..Ayls. Well worth a meal. Be sure to drive up to Cordova Pass. Great place to look at stars.

Exceptional quiet park 1 mile outside the quant town of La Veta, CO. Wide and level gravel sites, many with huge cottonwood trees, all back-in. No discounts offered. No OTA reception or cable, so bring your Dish or watch free DVDs from the office. Very friendly owners, who give out lots of info and a free "gift". Bath and laundry are spotless. Lots of grass; entire park is basically a dog park and very pet friendly as long as you pick-up/dispose correctly. Would definitely give a "10" rating if they had cable. Don't forget to custom order your beautifully embroidered "Happy Camper" sweatshirt. I would stay here a month or longer just to visit the quirky town and surrounding area! We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Charlie's Ice Cream is a must...$1 for a huge scoop at the fountain, located inside a small, but fully stocked grocery.

What a gem this park is! The owners have done an incredible job upgrading the park since they purchased it. They are so friendly and helpful. We camped here with our group and the owners go out of their way to work with groups and make everyone feel at home. The restrooms and showers are exceptionally clean, as is the whole park. We will return. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the nicest park in LaVeta. There is a "mobile home and RV" park across the street, not to be confused with this jewel. Lucy's RV park is on the other side of town and at a three-way stop and much more crowded. Super friendly owner, who is a great spokesperson for the local Chamber of Commerce. They have the month's activities on their web site and staff pass around fliers with this week's community activities. This park is within walking distance of downtown. Don't miss the Ryus Street Bakery, only open three or four days a week for fresh baked goods. Lots of space between each site, with room for your slide and awning. The only thing I didn't like about this park is their picnic tables are permanently mounted and can't be moved. Nice dog run, and the Cucharas River (really only a creek) runs down one side of the park. Deer in the park nightly. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Travel south to the community of Cucharas and go up Cordova Pass. In the fall the oak brush turns orange and the aspen yellow and some red. Fantastic views and fall colors. The fourth week of September is the best time for fall colors. They close late October, depending on weather.

We really enjoyed this small campground. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. They have done a lot of work and it is obvious that they really care about their campground and the guests that stay there. There was a nice game room, outdoor patio area, banquet room for large groups, small gift shop with handmade goodies and a nice dog run. We are already thinking of going back in the fall to enjoy the aspens! We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Very interesting museum in town and beautiful drive down to Cuchara. Lathrop State park is only a few miles away with good fishing and a swim beach and biking trails.

I wanted to rate this a 9 only because they don't have cable, but this place was so nice, and the owners were so accommodating and welcoming, that I had the overlook the cable issue and give them a 10. To show they think of everything, they have a substantial DVD library for you to borrow from to compensate for no TV. We couldn't get
over-the-air channels, but some had their satellite dishes out, so I assume that works. The sites are FHU, gravel, back-in sites with a picnic table that are easily leveled and are spacious. Our site was a creek-front site, and there was room behind the MH to sit and listen to the creek. The laundry room, as well as the entire campground, was very clean. A new WiFi system was installed while we were there, and it was excellent.
This is a wonderful, quiet, and peaceful CG. We were traveling to Durango from Denver. If ever in the area again, we won't even look for anything else...nothing would compare. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Our original reservation was for 8 days and we stayed for 46 days because we were just not ready to leave. The park is nice and above all, comfortable. It is beautifully maintained, in a nice setting with wonderful owners. I understand why so many people return year after year.

All sites are back ins and all are about the same size - long enough for our 38 foot fifth wheel with the truck in front plus room for the jeep along side. The 50 amp sites are along a stream, some closer to it than others and the 30 amp sites make up the other three rows. Because we kept extending our stay we were in both 50 and 30 amp sites and the 30 was always adequate (cooler temps at that altitude!).

This is a park we would love to return to and one I have recommended to others. There was just something so friendly and did I say comfortable about it!

The rate reflects both weekly and monthly stays. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

La Veta is a quiet little town but keep an eye on the events calendar. There is the scenic Highway 12 drive. The Spanish Peaks and Trinchera for steeper climbs as well as lots of other hiking trails in the area.

Excellent campground. River is on one side of park. Clean, big cottonwood trees all over the park, wifi was off and on and a nice laundry. Movies on loan in the office. Second street is on the right coming in from 160, before you get to downtown. It is dirt and not wide, then turn right into the park. 31-41 are in the sun and are cheaper. $208. For week in#26. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great scenic drives! Our dog loved the rabbits running around the park. Deer just across the fence and they walk across the street downtown.

We stayed at this lovely small RV park two days in early June. The river front lots are shady, with grassy areas separating the spaces. We were in site 25, with nice afternoon shade.

The folks running the park were delightful and very helpful. The Park has very well kept landscaping. The Laundry and shower house are older but clean.

The office has a free on-your-honor DVD and book lending library, with several dozen recent titles. There is strong WiFi in most areas, except inside the shower house, oddly enough. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of La Veta was small but cute. The nearest grocery we found was in Walsenburg so plan accordingly.

We don"t usually care for private parks but this was an exception. The owners are very friendly and the park is well maintained. Nice large level sights. There are sites on the Cucharas river also. We liked the area so much we extended our stay. All the rain they had this year made everything lush. I would have given this park a 10 if I could have had a campfire. The town doesn"t allow fires. You can use propane or charcoal to cook on. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Price reflects weekly rate for 30 amps. The owners are Snowbird RVers, know what RVers want; and do everything they can to provide a great stay for their guests. Sites are easy to back into with level gravel surface. Each site has a well tended lawn with a picnic table and just the right amount of space between rigs. Local fire regulations prohibit individual fire pits, but there is a nice communal gas fire near the club house that the owners will let you use. Bathrooms and showers are kept spotless. Washers and dryers worked well with plenty of room for folding. The club house had lots of games and puzzles. They had one of the largest libraries I've seen for a park of their size; great for dropping off used books and picking up some new things to read. Verizon worked well, and we had a great view of the mountains to enjoy while we worked. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
