We stayed a week, and had one of the "river" sites. However, the river by dry! Big time drought in the area! However, we still enjoyed the stay. I'd echo what a previous posted said about only 3 broadcast television stations available.... However, they have a ton of loaner DVDs in the came room available for free. We enjoyed this park very much. The owners are doing a great job. I am sure this is the best park in town. Mule deer roam freely thru the park... and all over town for that matter. It's a bit dusty, but I attribute that to the drought. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Check out Cuchara, Cuchara Pass, and Cordova Pass! Also, the downtown market has reasonable prices considering where they are. Lastly, the corner diner at the south end of town (down the main drag) has the best BLT sandwich, and some of the best onion rings I'v had anywhere. We also visited Huerfano Community Bible Church in Walsenberg, I highly recommend it as well! We really liked LaVeta, hope you do too!

This was an overnight stay for us. Gravel roads to the campground and inside the area. WiFi was excellent. Cable was not available (3 stations over the air). Utilities were great. Staff and other campers very kind-some have been coming here for 30 years! Sites wide enough that we had a bit of privacy. New owners are working hard to upgrade the campground. Trees are planted between sites that will grow. We never saw the river. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

What a nice park. The owner is a great ambassador of the local chamber of commerce as she puts local events in her weekly newsletter. Spacious sites, good water pressure, new, stronger Wi-Fi. This is our second visit here and we'll come again next year. The other park across town is too tight, and the park across the road from this one isn't as nice, so this is the best RV park in town! We had a very nice stay at Circle the Wagons. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff was very helpful. Spaces are wide and flat without the feeling of being on top of each other. We stayed in one of the sites next to river which was very pleasant with lots of shade from the cottonwood trees. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Overall Rating:

Exceptional quiet park 1 mile outside the quant town of La Veta, CO. Wide and level gravel sites, many with huge cottonwood trees, all back-in. No discounts offered. No OTA reception or cable, so bring your Dish or watch free DVDs from the office. Very friendly owners, who give out lots of info and a free "gift". Bath and laundry are spotless. Lots of grass; entire park is basically a dog park and very pet friendly as long as you pick-up/dispose correctly. Would definitely give a "10" rating if they had cable. Don't forget to custom order your beautifully embroidered "Happy Camper" sweatshirt. I would stay here a month or longer just to visit the quirky town and surrounding area! We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Charlie's Ice Cream is a must...$1 for a huge scoop at the fountain, located inside a small, but fully stocked grocery.

This is the nicest park in LaVeta. There is a "mobile home and RV" park across the street, not to be confused with this jewel. Lucy's RV park is on the other side of town and at a three-way stop and much more crowded. Super friendly owner, who is a great spokesperson for the local Chamber of Commerce. They have the month's activities on their web site and staff pass around fliers with this week's community activities. This park is within walking distance of downtown. Don't miss the Ryus Street Bakery, only open three or four days a week for fresh baked goods. Lots of space between each site, with room for your slide and awning. The only thing I didn't like about this park is their picnic tables are permanently mounted and can't be moved. Nice dog run, and the Cucharas River (really only a creek) runs down one side of the park. Deer in the park nightly. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Travel south to the community of Cucharas and go up Cordova Pass. In the fall the oak brush turns orange and the aspen yellow and some red. Fantastic views and fall colors. The fourth week of September is the best time for fall colors. They close late October, depending on weather.

Overall Rating:

Price reflects weekly rate for 30 amps. The owners are Snowbird RVers, know what RVers want; and do everything they can to provide a great stay for their guests. Sites are easy to back into with level gravel surface. Each site has a well tended lawn with a picnic table and just the right amount of space between rigs. Local fire regulations prohibit individual fire pits, but there is a nice communal gas fire near the club house that the owners will let you use. Bathrooms and showers are kept spotless. Washers and dryers worked well with plenty of room for folding. The club house had lots of games and puzzles. They had one of the largest libraries I've seen for a park of their size; great for dropping off used books and picking up some new things to read. Verizon worked well, and we had a great view of the mountains to enjoy while we worked. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

My wife and two kids just stayed here a week and the park is very clean with a very welcoming staff. Everything was well taken care of. All of the sites are easy to get in and out of and are clean and level. The folks running this campground are super nice and obviously have more than a little knowledge about RVing. I only hope they have an opening the next time we pass through southeastern Colorado! Great park, guys! We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a quiet, clean, friendly campground with some sites with larger trees for shade. The owner is very nice. Videos are loaned for free and the laundry is free, also. We only stayed one night, but we would come back if we were in the area. We camped at Circle The Wagons RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Peace and quiet! Most sites have large trees. Bring your hummingbird feeder! Nice room between sites. Grass - good for this part of the world. Good power level and good water pressure. Wi-Fi always worked. Very nice area. We'll certainly come back! We used satellite dish and had no problem getting signal through the trees.
