Nice quiet USFS campground set in a beautiful forest, some sites near a lovely creek and some have spectacular views of the South San Juan range. Water spigots are scattered about but for some you'll need a "thief" connector. Toilets are clean pit toilets but no showers are available. The interior roads are tight in spots but all but the very largest rigs should be ok with careful driving. Sites 2-4 are water/sewer sites the rest are dry. Sites 38 - 50 are on a hillside with spectacular views of the mountains. The dump station for the area was closed in 2016 due to underground leaks, unlikely it will be repaired so the nearest dump station will be the Conoco/Giant station at 30 N Pagosa Blvd, Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 (right on US 160 across from the Shell station.) If unoccupied and you ask nicely the campground host may allow you to use sites 2, 3, or 4 to dump/fill, these have water/sewer hookups otherwise it is 23 miles to the Conoco. We camped at Williams Creek Campground - USFS in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Some very challenging trails up to the Continental Divide are in the area most require a steep 4-8 mile one way hike up. Numerous dirt/gravel USFS roads thru the woods for mtn. bikes or ATVs. Pagosa Springs CO is 23 miles away, groceries, restaurants, supplies and hot springs are there.

A very beautiful/peaceful place to visit and just unwind in the Great Outdoors. Well maintained facilities, and our Host was very friendly, helpful, and courteous. We camped at Williams Creek Campground - USFS in a Tent.

This is a primitive campground just at the start of the road up to Cinnamon Pass. You are at over 9500 feet at this campground. The only facilities are pit toilets. We stayed here in our motor home and it was a challenge getting it level. But we did with some patience. There were mostly tent and trailers there but a few of the sites can accommodate a big rig. Just make sure your water is topped off and the holding tanks are empty. We enjoyed our stay. It was relatively quiet and the sites were spaced well apart. With surrounding mountains and spectacular views this is a great place to spend a few days. It is still close enough to Lake City to run into town for a meal or to make an ice run. If you love 4-wheeling you'll love this part of Colorado. And this campground provides as much as you can expect in location and relaxation. Don't forget your jeep when you come. We camped at Williams Creek Campground - USFS in a Motorhome.
