Nice sites in a wilderness area in the middle of a city. The sites were nowhere near level and the water seemed to have oil in it. A good price for well spaced sites. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

Convenient location close to Red Rocks amphitheater. No water or sewer hookups at sites. No wifi or cable TV, but AT&T cell reception was OK. Back-in site was large enough for our 40 ft fifth wheel, and did not have to unhitch. No trees for shade, but had a picnic table and a fire pit. Reasonable rates for what you get. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A couple of things to note right off before you make a reservation here: 1) The sites are electric only. I think most, if not all, are 50 amp. 2) There are water spouts nearby, but you'll need a long hose if you want to fill from them. There is a water fill station on the opposite side of the campground from the entrance. 3) There are two dump stations that are easy to get into and out of, but seem to be busy often. The place is like an oasis in the middle of the city. The campground is nestled down between knolls, so you don't know you are in the city, unless you look really hard to the south to see a shopping center. It is barely visible as you can see the rooftops at night when their lights are on. The bike trails are fun to ride. It can be busy in the afternoon and weekends at the nearby lake, which has a nice sandy beach. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is truly a hidden gem! We never expected to have a campground in the city where you can't even see the city. This is a huge city park with lots and lots to do in it. They have horses, boat rentals, beach, lots of trails and biking. Electric only sites. Good cell coverage. The sites are HUGE. Easy to get to from C-470 There is a little noise from the C-470 traffic, but we didn't notice it inside. No shade. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Our site was very spacious and level. The road is paved and well maintained. It is an easy ride into Denver. 2600 acres just outside a big city -- great combination. The down side is if you have dogs, which we do. There isn't really any grass; it is brush, which is cut back for the sites. My dogs didn't like walking on it. There is also some foxtail around, which can be dangerous for a dog if it gets in its eye or nose, so you have to be careful. Still, it's a terrific value and we would definitely return. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

The campsites are nice, but as everyone said - no water hookup. We were glad to get the last spot here the night we stayed, because of its proximity to Red Rocks and several other nearby attractions. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great clean city park, and value for the location. Park is about 3o minutes from denver, only 10 minutes to red rocks amphitheater. Close to major highways, restaurants, grocery stores, and shops. Electric only sites, although there is water spickets throughout the park, if you get lucky can just run a hose over and fill up your tank. Cell service worked great for At&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Sites are very large with fire pits and a picnic table. Tons of walking and biking trails surrounding the park A.so borders a golf course, which has a walking/biking path that runs through it. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at Bear Creek for three days in a motorhome. Though the sites weren't level, we were able to get stabilized without to much difficulty. The sites were roomy and quiet, with plenty of room for tow and great Verizon signal. We had friends join us who stayed in the cabins and their only complaint was the terrible smell in the pit toilets. It was hardly bearable, but fortunately they could just use ours. That did require us to go to the dump station more than we'd anticipated, but all in all it wasn't a big deal. We would stay there again. Very quite, great lake facilities and other sports if desired. The area were the camp sites are do not have large trees as yet but they have been planted. It was a mix of tents, RV's of different ages. There were children, old folks like us, 20 somethings but very quite the 3 days we were there. Again, this is a difficult place to describe. We had 50 amp electric but no water (they have a fill up station). No sewer but there is a dump. If you want a pull-thru, the sites are way in the back. The closest restroom was a vault toilet. Stinky and full of flies. Disgusting. The campground is quite a ways in from the park entrance. The price of $27 includes $1 off for senior discount plus an $8 pass for the tow vehicle. This place is kind of hard to explain. It is like a little oasis in the middle of chaos. What is unusual is you can see and hear noise from the interstate. Plus the very bright lights of the nearby Home Depot. I see this as a day use park more than a place to stay. It appears to be heavily used this way. Most of the RVs were older and appeared to have been stationary for a while. I assume from locals who leave the RVs there for weekends. Our site was very unlevel, and we satisfied ourselves with sort of level. Kind of pricey for just water and electric and no other amenities. It is a long drive from the entrance to the RV sites so be patient :) We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a big day use park as it is located in town but you don't feel like you are in town. Lots of biking/hiking trails which were really nice. The campground is located at the back of the park. The sites were located a bit close together and there isn't much shade but for the price and location it was great! We stayed a second time as we came back thru Denver after a stay in Rocky Mountian NP. Great location for stocking up on supplies. At first glance i didnt care much for the park, but it started to grow on me each day. The campground has no shade nor privacy. It does have nice sized sites and they are level. Just electricity but water is avaibile in the campground. Great biking and walking trails. There are horse stables and an archery range. Its in a good location to make day trips.
