Our site was very spacious and level. The road is paved and well maintained. It is an easy ride into Denver. 2600 acres just outside a big city -- great combination. The down side is if you have dogs, which we do. There isn't really any grass; it is brush, which is cut back for the sites. My dogs didn't like walking on it. There is also some foxtail around, which can be dangerous for a dog if it gets in its eye or nose, so you have to be careful. Still, it's a terrific value and we would definitely return. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Bear Creek for three days in a motorhome. Though the sites weren't level, we were able to get stabilized without to much difficulty. The sites were roomy and quiet, with plenty of room for tow and great Verizon signal. We had friends join us who stayed in the cabins and their only complaint was the terrible smell in the pit toilets. It was hardly bearable, but fortunately they could just use ours. That did require us to go to the dump station more than we'd anticipated, but all in all it wasn't a big deal. We would stay there again. Very quite, great lake facilities and other sports if desired. The area were the camp sites are do not have large trees as yet but they have been planted. It was a mix of tents, RV's of different ages. There were children, old folks like us, 20 somethings but very quite the 3 days we were there. City needs to provide better directions (posted) for laundry, stores, etc. No one knew were anything was except resturants in downtown area off highway.

Overall Rating:

The price of $27 includes $1 off for senior discount plus an $8 pass for the tow vehicle. This place is kind of hard to explain. It is like a little oasis in the middle of chaos. What is unusual is you can see and hear noise from the interstate. Plus the very bright lights of the nearby Home Depot. I see this as a day use park more than a place to stay. It appears to be heavily used this way. Most of the RVs were older and appeared to have been stationary for a while. I assume from locals who leave the RVs there for weekends. Our site was very unlevel, and we satisfied ourselves with sort of level. Kind of pricey for just water and electric and no other amenities. It is a long drive from the entrance to the RV sites so be patient :) We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a big day use park as it is located in town but you don't feel like you are in town. Lots of biking/hiking trails which were really nice. The campground is located at the back of the park. The sites were located a bit close together and there isn't much shade but for the price and location it was great! We stayed a second time as we came back thru Denver after a stay in Rocky Mountian NP. Great location for stocking up on supplies. Great open large sites. Park setting maintained by the city and they do a great job. Quiet. No Wi-Fi or full hookup, but if you can live without that, this is one of my favorite spots. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

First of all this is strictly a first come, first served park. There are no reservations...others have mentioned you should make reservations. It does fill up on weekends, so we decided to arrive here Sunday afternoon, and by that time it was almost empty of the weekenders. We came to this park KNOWING they only offer 30 and 50 amp hookups...no sewer, or water. I gave it a 9 because it is exactly as advertised, and the pull through and back in sites are LOOOONG! The park has a a rustic high plains feel, but is neat, and well maintained. We stayed in site #39...about 90 feet long. This is a great little park, and close to many things, plus there are bike paths, hiking trails, a lake, etc. We would definitely come here again. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground to stay at. Clean, well laid out, great campground hosts. Plenty to do either at the campground (swimming, boating, water skiing, horseback riding, archery range, hiking, biking) or in the local area. Good free Wi-Fi signal from local site was available. Great pull through sites available, but make a reservation as the campground filled up by Thursday night for the weekend crowd. We would certainly stay here again! This is a very nice campground in an area without too many good places to stop. (Some of the local Wal-Marts do not allow overnight RV parking.) The campsites are long and level. The campground is in a rural setting in the middle of a large park with swimming, boating, fishing, and other activities available. There are no water or sewage hookups, but 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups are available at each campsite. As with a previous reviewer, the only reason I did not give this campground a rating of 10 was the absence of complete hookups. We camped at Bear Creek Lake Park, Indian Paintbrush Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice town park. I gave it a 9 because it did does not have sewer and water hook ups. The sites are large and flat. There are no trees. Nice beach for swimming. The dump station and water fill are both east to use. We stayed in site 33, which was nice and flat. We will stay here again in the future.
