New owners and they are in the process of remodeling, but they were super nice and helpful. The park is kinda cute. Not what we expected. Laundry room, free fast WiFi. Full hookups. Huge sites. A little noise from the highway but not too bad. Great value. We will return. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As an overnight stop park is OK. The motel part is pretty run down and the RV sites are pretty much on the edge of the parking lot. A little strange but it works. Power, water and sewer all worked OK. Restroom was rather dirty and you have to pay for a shower if you use - we didn't. Located in a nice little town. Not so sure we would stay again. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This place is only OK for a quick overnight stay. It is easy to get in and out and my site is very level. There are so many flies that I only hooked up electricity and plan on opening the door as little as possible. The site I am in is filthy and next to a run down permanent trailer. There is quite a bit of noise from the road. The lady in the office asked if I had my own satellite and when I said that I did, she said that I wouldn't need their cable then. Unfortunately my site is so filthy I don't even want to set up my satellite. I will not return even for an overnight. $36.00 is ridiculous for this. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This used to be a Passport America member campground but isn't now. It's a motel and RV camp; 8 rooms, 1 "cabin", and 22 full hookup sites. Hookups are functional but old. Sites are nothing but gravel; no grass, no tables, no pads, not quite level. One men's room with pay shower (50 cents/4 minutes), outdated but appeared to be clean. Rules prominent, "NO REFUNDS" also prominent. Free cable TV is available (I used my dish), along with free Wi-Fi that is slow and sometimes fails. All in all too much money for what you get. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.

First off, the Passport America web site includes this park, but they no longer participate in that program. They advertise cable and there is none. They did have good full hookups, water pressure was low, grounds was clean. Was fair for overnighter, but Wal-Mart might have been better. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very nice campground with friendly office folks. Mostly dirt and gravel but level pull-through sites. We stayed here overnight on our way to the Tall Grass Prairie Preserve in Kansas. Some road noise. Our rate reflects Passport America rate for full hookups and cable. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.

Traveling east on the Santa Fe Trail with wind gusts of 30 mph hitting the side of my trailer I decided to stop for the day at this park. The rate reflects PA discount. The park is bare bones with a motel on site. Everything worked fine - water, electric, cable and WiFi. Good place for an overnight. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It is what it is. A gravel parking lot with side by side full hookups to include cable. OK wifi, good Verizon service, quiet, clean. Not all sites have 50 amp though, so if thats important to you make sure you ask. Ok for a night or two at PPA rates but I'd be wanting hookups real bad to pay full freight here with a Walmart in town. The motel part is kind of interesting though. If you mean by "park" a place to put/park your RV, then OK, this is an RV Park. If you mean a park with trees, fresh breezes, hiking trails, etc., then no, this is not that kind of RV park. Sites are gravel, level, and easy to pull through or in to. They are full hookups in the sense that there is electricity, even 50 amp, a sewer connection (sometime needing repair), and water (although the spigot may be 50 feet from where you are parked, so be ready with a long hose). Just an overnight spot. Nothing to write home about. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Horrible campground, bare minimum, rude and unfriendly staff, expensive for what you get, disgusting gross moldy showers, which you had to pay for - extra! Basically this campground is in the middle of nowhere and is barely adequate if you only need to spend the night, but do not expect more. Dusty gravel, no picnic benches, nothing really except hookups. We would never stay here again, recommend you find a different place - as in far away from Lamar! Rate cited reflects a Passport America discount. Sites are laid out in a U shape around the motel and are very easy to get in and out of. Good cable TV, and the Wi-Fi worked well. This was a good overnight stopping place because the sites are long enough that we did not have to unhook. We will use this as an overnight stop again when in the area. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are laid out side by side pull-throughs. At this time of year, park is uncrowded. Gravel roads and sites. Very good cable and Wi-Fi. Decent Mexican restaurant, Mission Villanueva, a few blocks towards town with large parking lot behind it. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is our second visit to this park which makes an excellent overnight stopping point in southeast Colorado. While the ambiance of the park is not great, the owner is making strides to improve the infrastructure; including the combination office/TV room/continental breakfast area. Full-service with both cable and better-than-average Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, while we were here so were the flies which, despite our efforts, seemed to find ways into our motorhome. Owner is friendly and very nice guy. We camped at Sundance High Plains RV Park in a Motorhome.
