This park is a little older and a little worn, but still a decent place to spend the night. The park is mostly gravel, including the sites. There are a few significant potholes in the roads that will really rattle the dishes. The spaces are big enough to handle a big rig and not need to disconnect the TV/toad. This is one of the few parks we found in this part of Colorado that was full hooks and met our minimum ratings. The sites are a little close and have no shade. Verizon coverage was great. The park is easy enough access but you could miss the turn off the street if you weren't watching closely. Turn at the Pizza Hut and go down a street that turns to gravel to get to the park entrance which sets back from the road about 500 yards. We camped at Limon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Southside Drink & Food on Main St a little ways west of the park entrance has great for and a large adult beverage selection. We ate mid-afternoon, the food was hot and fresh, prepared to order, and served quickly.

Very small spaces for large rigs, barely enough room to open slides. Had rained so space was very muddy, not enough gravel. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

We had a pull thru site with plenty of room for slides and awning. We were originally assigned a site right next to someone when there was plenty of room to spread the campers out in the mostly empty park. The owners were very accommodating and allowed us to move. I ordered Pizza and they delivered it promptly. That was fun and not a typical thing one does in a park. Everything is gravel which should be expected in eastern Colorado. It was an easy in and out park with plenty of room to maneuver a large rig. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

Limon KOA Journey is a pretty typical small town KOA with the added attraction of a pizza and wing fast-food service in the office. The park does have a pool, but it was closed for the season when we arrived in mid-September. Since we were only staying one night, we were given a very convenient pull-thru space near the exit. It was not necessary to unhook our tow vehicle. Cable TV worked well, but the password-protected park WiFi was only adequate. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped for a night, got here early enough, after set-up, it was hot, so we got into the refreshing pool. Like most KOAs though, inadequate garbage facilities, garbage is overflowing for the amount of customer usage. Our site was a bit short, but no grass, only gravel (and dusty, though we realize we are in that type of climate.) Hookups were in a good universal place. The BEST WiFi we've had in awhile! That's a plus! Owner lives onsite and is very friendly and very present with her customers. They serve a pancake breakfast in the morning, and pizza in the evening. This is a great stopover for a night or two in the middle of the plains. We would definitely stay here again on our way through. We camped at Limon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Fairly typical for a KOA; not meant as a compliment. Pricey for what it is but it is OK for where it is; next door to the middle of nowhere. Only game in town. Easy access off I-70. Sites are tight and close together, but OK. Water pressure is very high; need a regulator. Did not hook up to sewer because only here one night. However, it would have taken every inch of sewer hose. Will stay here again basically because of where it is. We camped at Limon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is not much to Limon but they do have a grocery store and drug store and several fuelstops. There probably are eating places as well but we did not look for them.

Overnight stop along I-70. Site was level but more dirt than gravel. Roads are easy to navigate. They did warn us that water pressure is high and that is stated in their map - so bring a regulator. Wi-fi is useless. The sewer hook-up was 'capped' with a concrete 'plug' and there was no way to secure the sewer hose. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

An overnight stop on our way to the Colorado Springs area. Typical KOA. Not much shade, right along I-70. Easy to get in and out of the park. We stayed for only one night but everything worked fine. Site was gravel and level. All dirt roads and gravel sites. A few sites had some small trees. Looked to be mainly transient short stays with a few seasonal folks. Didn't use any of the amenities of this KOA. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are heading west on I-80 to Colorado, and want to avoid Denver heading south, then take 71 out of Brush, CO to Limon. This positions you well to go further on to Colorado Springs or into Denver.

Stayed one night at this KOA while passing through Limon. It had rained a lot and the roads were a mess. If we had gotten more rain the entire place would have been a mud pit. The spaces were tight and the roads were tight. Very pricey in my opinion. The right price for this stay should have been about $28.00. We camped at Limon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pulled in late at night. Had to pay extra for two kids (7 and 11). It ended up costing us $55. When we woke up and looked out we were disappointed. Run down and not as nice as what a KOA usually is.... Especially for $55. The sad thing is, it does a lot of business, so there's not a motivation for beautification. They can't help the weather. This park is going to be dry and dusty. Sites are easy to navigate and they are trying to grow some trees. A reasonable stopover site when traveling I-70. We camped at Limon KOA in a Travel Trailer.

As with most KOA's it is pretty pricey for what you get. This park is fine for a night or two. Clean pool. Wifi was in and out, and we were close to the office. Not a lot nearby in Limon. Park was well maintained and staff was very friendly. You can even order a pizza from the office and they deliver to your site. We took advantage of this, as it was too windy to barbque one night. Easy to navigate interior roads, sites are level and some have grill. Pull through site was easy in and out. Would stay here again. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a Journey park and not much to it. The sites were technically long enough but so narrow it was tough to fit our motorhome + tow. Staff wasn't overly friendly. Good enough for a one night's stay but don't expect anything special. We camped at Limon KOA in a Motorhome.
