Access to the park was good as was the signage. Check in was quick and pleasant. This is a reservation only park but we had not make a reservation. The young lady made everything work for us and we did not pay a reservation fee. We did pay a $7.00 entry fee. Parameter roads had a few potholes but none were that bad. Our site, Bald Eagle Point 52 was a level concrete pad with a covered table, fire pit, power, water and sewer all very well placed. The only drawback was the constant noise from the freeway. There are no restaurants or services within walking distance. We pair $35.00 including the entrance fee and feel we received good value. We would return if in the area. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

I would have given this park a "10" except that it is located next to I-25 so you are never free of the highway sounds, otherwise it's a great place to stay for a night or a week. Campground was amazingly clean as were the facilities. It is located next to the St. Vrain river and wetlands so there it's something of a bird watching mecca. Also there are plenty of nature and hiking trials as well as fishing opportunities. As for the campsites there are 87 total about half are electric only and the other half are full hookup. Each site comes with a level concrete pad, picnic table and fire ring. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a lovely state park RV CG, located near freeway and very convenient to Longmont area. Sites are pull-thru in loops adjacent to the graveled interior road, sites are graveled, very spacious, and surrounded by grass. Sites have picnic tables with a wind shield. Reservations require registration with state park service reservation system, but once done, easy to make reservations. This appears to be a very popular destination for locals on weekends, so reservations required far in advance for weekends, but not so much during the week. Park staff very friendly & helpful. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Gravel roads inside the park, however, park staff keep them watered so there is limited dust. Excellent sites, pull through and level. We stayed in the Kestrell Section. The only negatives are the added fees: $10 Reserve America fee per reservation and the park entrance fee. We purchased the annual pass since we stayed several days at several Colorado State Parks. No charge for tow vehicle as long as you tow the vehicle into the park. Easy access to interstate. Walking trails around the lakes inside the park. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great location for day trips to Rocky Mountain National Park and Ft. Collins to visit Odell and New Belgium Breweries. Visit Celestial Teas and National Center for Atomospheric Research in Boulder. Snarf's Sandwiches, Georgia Boys Bar-B-Que and Smokin Dave's Bar-b-que are good. St. Vrain Greenway is a nice bike ride. Good tour at Left Hand Brewery in Longmont.

This was a one night stop over before going to the Pike's Peak area. Nice park. Easy to navigate with a big rig. Concrete pad. Friendly staff. Each site has a covered table and fire pit. Our site was in a loop that had around 6 pull through sites, so there was lots of space between each unit. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 5 days in an electric only site. These sites have a concrete pad and paved roads. The FHU sites have a concrete pad but the roads are gravel. The FHU section is also closer to I-25. If you stay in a site as far west as possible the traffic isn't as noticeable. Nice trails to walk/bike ride around the park. Fishing from shore is the big draw here and there were a lot people doing it. No swim beach but I did see a couple people on SUPs one day. Plenty of OTA stations and nothing blocked our satellite view. Strong Verizon for hotspot. Plenty of grass for walking dogs around the park. Camp hosts clean the sites after each camper. We would stay here again. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice state park located conveniently to I-25 so there is some road noise. We were in the FHU section, sites 42-87. These sites are spacious, long, level, concrete pull-through, with a concrete patio, a covered table, and a fire ring. There is no shade. There is also a flush toilet building in this section. There are several ponds with trails around them so there is plenty of area to walk and exercise a dog. Fishing is available at some of the ponds. Be aware of the $10 reservation fee and an additional $7 daily pass fee. We used this location to explore Boulder and Rocky Mountain National Park. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty campground with ponds and wildlife. While our site did not have water at the site, we were easily able to top off our fresh water tanks by running two hoses to the water outlet; other sites had water and sewer. The sites are wonderful. It was also very convenient for visiting friends and family in the area. The biggest problem we experienced was the noise from I-25 (we were the 3rd closest site to the highway). Also, while the check campers, day visitors and guests closely at the entrance during the day, at night there is no security. Despite those drawbacks, we still loved this state park and would not hesitate to stay there again in the future. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

This review is for the full hookup, 30/50 amp sites. The roads are all gravel. Sites, which are mostly parallel-to-the-road pull throughs, have a concrete slab for the RV and a gravel patio area with covered picnic table and fire pit. These sites are very spacious. If you make your reservations online, add $10 for the transaction fee. Add an additional $7 per day for the park entrance fee payable when you arrive. Highway noise may be an issue for some. Firewood was $5 bundle; about one night's fire. We would stay here again. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Review is for the electricity only sites; these sites have paved road access and large, level concrete pads for parking. Some are pull-through and some back-in. Picnic table and shelter are on a large, level gravel pad. Pick your site carefully. We were a group of 3 RVs with sites 38, 39, and 40. These were chosen because they were right on one of the ponds, with unobstructed views. As it turns out, there are a lot of fishermen and they have full access to the shore - even in your campsite. This includes use of your picnic table and shelter unless you happen to be occupying it. It may not bother some, but having someone smoking and carrying on a loud conversation in my reserved spot was annoying and detracted from our enjoyment of the park. Other than that, kudos to the park staff and hosts for keeping the park spotless! We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

If you look at St. Vrain State Park in a satellite view, it looks amazing. The best sites seem to be near the big ponds. In reality, you will likely see and hear the traffic on I-25 from where you are, and you will definitely see the huge gas station sign lighting up the night. With that said, the sites are well maintained and everything is spotless. If you get a site near one of the larger ponds, prepare to have people fishing and chatting right next to your picnic table all day (site 39 is probably the worst site in the campground unless you fish). There are some good parts, though. It's in civilization so the cell service is perfect. And it's near some shops as well as fairly close to Longmont where they have lots to do. I would recommend sites in the trees away from the water. If you fish, just walk over to a pond so you can have some privacy at your site. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed for a week while visiting family in the Denver area. The park ended up being much more expensive because in additional to the nitely rate we had to pay either for a yearly state park pass or a daily rate of $7 for a vehicle pass. The campground provided a beautiful view of the mountains and foothills and despite the closeness to I-25 it was quiet. It was nice to stay in a state park with full hook-ups. It also had a covered picnic table. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Cost was $28.00 p/night plus a one time $10.00 registration fee which works out to 33 p/night for us for two nights. Math not my forte. At any rate we stopped for some voyage repairs to our Motorhome and this was a good spot to do it from. Site have concrete pads and ours was just long enough for a 45' MH. Great walking and we were far enough from the road it didn't bother us. We will go back when visiting that part of Colorado. We camped at St. Vrain State Park in a Motorhome.
