We have been to Boyd Lake several times. The last time we were here was 2016 and not much has changed. Still a good campground for the money and the proximity to the lake for boating is great! Not much to add as previously stated. Out site was level, good power and clean. We do use our patio mat to keep the gravel out as the sites are asphalt with gravel. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We spent 2 nights here as we were traveling through. The location worked well for us to visit friends and relatives. Fortunately they have 50 amp here as we had to run AC because of heat and campfires nearby. It worked out that we took a day to visit Rocky Mt. Nat'l Pk. Sites are asphalt and curved and not long enough for MH and toad to stay attached. Electric was fine; no sewer or water, restrooms and dump station nearby, many channels on broadcast tv, no wifi. Price high for limited utilities/ camping & daily fee, but typical of Co.state parks. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

$21 was the Aspen Leaf Senior pass price. We were a little disappointed at first because Boyd isn't nearly as nice as other Colorado state parks we have visited. Asphalt is pretty rough, sites are kind of short, only electric hook-up and not much privacy between sites. But, it grew on us and we enjoyed our stay very much. Great bike path. Nice view of the mountains. Lots of grass for dog walking. We didn't use the restrooms but the laundry room was nice. More trees in A loop where we stayed the first night and then moved to C loop in order to get satellite TV. Verizon wasn't very strong but I was able to use the hotspot. We would return. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

All sites are short pull thoughs, electric only and very close to neighbors. For a quick overnight stay, it was fine, but I wouldn't want to spend any length of time here. Really nice walking/biking trails around the park and into surrounding communities. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

The nightly fee was $24 plus $8 per day use fee. If you going to be there longer than 10 days it would be better to buy a buy a yearly pass for $80. No water or sewer at the sites, but there are several water spigots on each loop that you can park at and fill up your tanks, or if you have enough hose you could fill without leaving your site. There is a dump station. Lots to do, hiking, biking, boating, many cities to visit near by and RMNP. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

The nightly fee is about $22 per night; but you also have to pay an $8 day use fee per day. The park is great; no water or sewer at the sites however. There are water spigots on each loop that you can park at and fill up your tanks and there is a dump station near the campground. Depending on the prevailing wind direction you may get some septic and/or cow feed lot odors wafting through. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Easy access from the interstate. Rate reflects the state park daily camping rate. Water spigots located in each row in all loops not at sites. Parking pads are curved but pull through. Great bike trail runs through the park. Great access to the lake. Easy access to the dump station. Reserve site online, there is a fee. Check campground map on Google Earth to select a site with trees or that suits you best. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Day trips to Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park. Very pretty ride. Sculpture Park in Loveland was nice. Good microbreweries in the area. Free tour of New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins (be sure to make reservations in advance) as well as Anheiser Busch. Bike trail is a good ride in both directions from the park.

I've stayed in many state parks around the country and this is one of the first times I felt kind of disappointed with a state park campground. It felt the closest to being more of a commercial campground where everyone is crammed together, though sites are spaced far enough apart where campers can pitch a tent next to their picnic table. We only stayed 2 nights which was enough for us. I don't ever plan to return to this park as a destination stay. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We have been coming to Boyd for a lot of years and always have had a great experience. The lake is wonderful for boating and lots of things to do.

Having said that, our trip this time was pretty good with a couple of exceptions.
We had reserved a site nearly 6 months ago (you MUST reserve early to get a weekend spot here in Colorado!) but due to work, we could not spend the first night, but opted to arrive early the next morning. We were surprised to see a tent camper in our reserved spot when we arrived! The camp hosts were not helpful and I had to call the Park Rangers. Turns out the camper was camping illegally and was issued a ticket by the Rangers and kicked out of the park. Never had that one happen before! Other than that, not a bad stay.

The Park is starting to show it's age and could use some updating, but is still pretty good. Good electricity and water spigots are scattered around. Lots of room at the dump station! Shower house was not clean, but was usable. (Lots of cobwebs).

Overall a good park, but upkeep was lacking. This I will pin directly on the camp hosts. The hosts only job appeared to be... well... camping and putting tags on the reservation markers. No campsite upkeep or cleaning was seen during our 4 day stay. It was disappointing because we love seeing how other hosts in other CO state parks maintain their sites with pride. No so much here. Too bad. I know it's dependent on the particular group of hosts and usually they are pretty good. No this time and it showed.

Having said that, we WILL be back next year! We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Great state park close to lots of services and amenities. We had a pull-through site with a lake view. Our site was also next to the multi-use concrete path that runs through the park. Perfect! We went for runs on this path and also rode our bikes on it for over 20 miles in the city of Loveland. Access to the path was our favorite feature of the campground. We were in the first loop, which is a short distance away from the beach area and the lake. Services were excellent. As other reviewers have noted, this campground feels more like a city park than a state park. Most sites are well shaded. As with most Colorado state parks, water spigots are shared among campsites. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to take a bike ride on the 18+ mile Loveland Trail that runs through the city. It starts right from the campground. Loveland/Fort Collins has lots of great shopping, including REI, Whole Foods, Home Depot, and Loaf N Jug for less expensive gas. Traffic can be a bit intense, but amenities aren't far from the park. Also drive the spectacular Cache la Poudre Scenic Byway through the la Poudre Canyon. It starts in Fort Collins. We drove through the Canyon on our way to Loveland.

Rate above includes having to pay a daily admission fee to access the park. Overall, a nice place. We had an end site near a bath house that was quiet, clean, and level. Only complaint would be that there was no soap available in the bath house to wash hands with! The showers are coin-operated but have good water pressure and are hot. We didn't have time to check out the lake as we were visiting family nearby but it was nice to camp by. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Rate quoted does not include $8/day vehicle entry fee. Sites are well spaced and partially shaded and level. Interior roads were wide enough to get my 38' 5th wheel in with minimal maneuvering. No water or sewer at site but campground had 3 spigots on my loop and a dump station. No cable but got 22 channels over-the-air without raising antenna. Laundry was clean. $1.75 for large load wash, $1.25 for dryer, larger dryers were $1.75.

Park has excellent paved walking path along the lake, plenty of open space as well as boat ramp and beach. Quite busy on weekends in summer.

Oddly, checkin and checkout are both 12, one busy weekends, if you're early, you might have to wait. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Noisy, unlevel sites and little to no shade. Nice lake and good view. Expensive for a state park and parties and fires were abundant. Difficult to park you car, if you are on the grass at all the Ranger will make you move. Very small spaces and tents are mixed with RV'S. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

This park has been here a long time and is still in good condition. Sites are all pull thru but originally designed for smaller units. My 34' 5th wheel did fit but I had to maneuver it around a bit to get it on the pavement which did level it. Roads are maintained but there was a lot of rain and there was a lot of standing water at the dump station. Roads a are a bit narrow but were fine this time of year as the park was not crowded. I would be concerned about getting around during the busy season as vehicle parking might be an issue. Electric was good and water is available all thru the loop we were in. Rangers came around regularly which was comforting. Park is on outskirts of town so it was quiet but close enough to make errands easy. We camped at Boyd Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
