Hard campground to rate. In a word: Fair. Not a whole lot to chose from near Estes Park and Rocky Mountain NP without driving up the mountain. First the positives: Good location, friendly staff, nice pavilion with grass area, entertainment on Friday night which was a nice touch, site on the river, was able to get satellite TV (site 17) but most sites covered with trees. Now the negative: really dusty road, weak water pressure (and the reason the other restrooms and bathhouse at the other end is not open, sites more of a parking lot type versus campsite. Looks like they have been working hard since the 2013 floods but have a long way to go. Washers/dryers good. Looks like place has a lot of help but they don't seem to be doing much. Sites close to each other and neighbor had to break a branch to open his slide. Way too many permanent residents in what looks like the slums -- old RVs and trailers and poorly maintained sites not conducive to a good looking campground. Only get once to make a first impression and we would not stay here again. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great location for day trips to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. 3 miles away from good bike paths. Did a 20 mile ride through streets and neighborhoods marked with bike paths.

This place was more of a tent-based campground with a number of year-round residents in beat-up RVs. The sites were OK--decent size, reasonably treed, and but no concrete patio. Rather a mudhole. Not really a place for RVers.

The guide who took us to our site took us in the wrong way--didn't know what he was doing.

Limited facilities. No pool, rec room, fitness facilities, or common room. Nice community pavilion with playground and basketball hoop. A great place for young families on a weekend camping trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. A lousy place for 50+ RVers.

Half the restrooms and showers were closed for several weeks including the entire July 4th holiday. There were busloads of East Coast teenagers on some sort of trip. They put up tents across from our site and then proceeded to tramp right through our site repeatedly as a shortcut to the open restrooms and showers. This went on for 4-5 days. Staff had left before the groups arrived and no instructions were left about respecting other people's sites and privacy. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 5 nights. Very convenient to Estes Park & Loveland. Our site was a back in right up to the Big Thompson River. AT&T Internet was slow at best. Water pressure was poor and one day stopped completely without warning for repairs but was turned back on within 15 minutes. Park roads were dry & dusty until it rained and then became somewhat muddy in places. Very narrow bridge to park entry. Nice big playground area for kids and several cabins located close to it. The live-insurance seemed to be grouped together. We would stay again due to location. We had full hookups. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Most sites appear to be back ins. Bridge entry is somewhat narrow but is the only entrance/exit. Back in site by river was very nice and relaxing.

This is by far one of the nicest campgrounds if you are planning a visit to RMNP (my wife and I checked out several while we were here). Our site was fairly level and the view of the river from our back window was great. Nice spacing between the sites. I understand they are still trying to recover from the 2013 flood. The sites could use some TLC, clean-up and some base material to help keep down the dust and dirt that gets into the trailer. Restrooms, showers and laundry were clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This park has way to many permanent residents that do not keep their property clean and neat. Very old trailers in poor repair. The grounds are not mowed. We had to ask for our area to be mowed, they did not weed eat in between sites, weeds up to my knees. Sites not level out front wheels were off the ground. Location is great, in between Estes Park and Loveland. The only reason we stayed here was it was close to our family otherwise would never stay here. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

They are working hard to get this campground back to where it was before the 2013 floods. Only real complaint is that the roads are really, really dusty. Restrooms and showers were clean and tidy. Stayed at a riverside site and neighbors were a tad close but the neighbors were nice and friendly. Large dog walk and some trees. Would stay here again in the fall when passing through. Sunday - Thursday, PA discount and Friday - Saturday, Good Sam. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The first two days of our four day stay, dry, dusty roads. No gravel at site, so dirt tracks in. Large rocks at site very uneven and hard to level coach. Very hard to hook up water as it's set deep in a hole. The picnic table was awful, scared and ruff. The next few days it rained very hard and mud everywhere. They told us the water would be turned off on Thursday, but at 4:30 on Wednesday it was off, the just a trickle, after that. Hard to fill bottles for the next day if there isn't any. Have to say when we did contact staff and office, they were nice and tried to help. We realize they are trying to come back from the flood of 2013, but a little gravel and leveling would go along way to satisfy campers. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park is still recovering from the flood of 2012 but they have made a lot of progress. While there is a large section of the park for long-term residents, the park is neat and quiet. We had a premium site, which was very long, on the river. The cottonwood trees on the river bank produced a lot of "cotton" but it did not cause any problems for us. It was nice to have a fire ring on the river bank. There is a Verizon hot spot by the recreation area. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. There is a large recreation field and covered area where there are some activities for scheduled on the weekends. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

OK park. Probably the best in the area and close to Rocky Mt National Park. The sites are dirt and fairly level. Good electric, high water pressure. A lot of permanent campers. Quiet at night just the sound of the river The town of Estes is just up the Mountain. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice place. Sites are large enough but closely spaced. Dirt roads, dirt sites, some grass, lots of trees. Pleasant staff. Marginal Verizon signal. If I was doing a quick in and out to Rocky Mt National Park I'd think seriously about staying here. Its so much better than any of the Estes RV parks and PPA makes it a real deal - even without PPA its less (pricey maybe but check Estes prices). We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

The negatives of the CG start off with Tengo Internet being the WiFi source and it is an additional charge. Verizon cell service is, at best, minimal and there is only one place in the CG where a Hotspot is possible. The picnic table and fire ring are wasted on the all dirt, cramped sites. The entire campground is mostly dirt with a lack of adequate gravel. There was a small fore/aft leveling issue with my site. There are lots of trees so sat. reception is minimal. The river view is only available if you are parked near it. It isn't deep, nor impressive. The seasonal sites are in the middle of the CG (mostly well kept). The tent area is all dirt/clay. It is not convenient for an overnighter due to it distance from the interstate and there are lots of stop lights on the road leading to it. The positives include 20 good cable TV channels, good utilities, two bath houses that were private and clean, and a large playground with pavilion. There is an off lease dog park that I didn't use (no pet). They have a nice propane filling station. The park is quiet. This park is difficult to rate since it isn't what I would normally choose. But, I've been here before and can say that this is probably the best (term used loosely) park in Loveland and much cheaper than those in Estes Park if you are going to visit Rocky Mtn NP. The rate is for two adults, two kids, and is a Good Sam discount. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Rates reflect PPA wkly rate. We arrived at the park not knowing it had been a victim of the 10/13 500 hundred year flood. The plant overgrowth on the river's banks, that some companied about in the past, is gone, along with a good portion of the park. However, you can tell it will be a beautiful park again, and actually still is. We stayed in a riverside spot, which became quite muddy after daily afternoon rains, but the staff is working hard on the process of replanting. Beautiful drive to Estess and Rocky Mnt Nat'l Park from here. We would stay here again. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful Campground right on the Big Thompson River. Close to town and to the mountains; was able to get in lot of good motorcycle riding during the day and come back and relax at the campsite. Employees were very nice. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

First site kept tripping 30 amp. Yes we are 50 amp but I know how to use 30. Late arrival, but fortunately office was closing when we had the problem. Put us on a 50 amp back in by the river. Had to drop the dinghy but not a big deal. Cable was all staticy. Payed a DOLLAR a day for WIFI why bother? EXTREMELY limited Verizon service. Booster at pavilion. (claim new tower in works.) We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground has a NO REFUND policy. In my opinion, this is because once you pay and drive in, you will want to leave. It has been said that the roads are dirt and gravel. Well, they're 99% dirt. Dust everywhere. The permanent section is a dump, with trashy trailers and motorhomes. The first night we were there, five sheriff's deputies took away our neighbor. The front office personnel are rude and impolite. We had to leave three days early because of a family emergency. They refused to refund the difference and said the manager was unavailable. We will never go back. We camped at Riverview RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
