Nice convenient park. The lower Creekside sites for tents and small campers is nice elec. only. Upper full hook up are a little more like a parking lot but still well kept and nice mountain views. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Honest review. Pull up other reviews and you will understand. How funny that the internet is Sooo bad this is 3rd attempt to review due to constantly getting kicked out. Bathrooms and showers a NO due to no other option than yes. Overuse due to lower campground has only outhouses. Pull up site map. Upper sites (14A) TOTAL JOKE Main exit road past your site is a fine dust road/heavy traffic/NO GRAVEL/WATER/ANYTHING PUT DOWN TO HELP WITH MAJOR DUST. You will have the pleasure of leaving here and everything -Coach-Tow Vehicle-Vents-Upholstery will be covered in a fine dust. Very little gravel in site. Pleasure to sit outside. Google map the storage/junk yard directly behind that is your so called VIEW. Had people using site next to me to DUMP and cutting through empty site next to me due to dump station being Soo backed up. If you are not out of your site at 11:02 you are charged extra. So upset went and tracked down the owner in the office and one camp host was raking the dirt in a empty site right near all this going on. No one in charge. Read reviews and dates. Clearly this owner could care less. I was told by owner that he would refund me remainder of stay if I left right now. Would not recommend this park on any level. Will NEVER stay here again. Tired of giving idiots my money when they do such a poor job. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Everything about this park is outstanding! Spotless grounds, showers, laundry. Staff and owners are very friendly and went over and above to get a spot for us. Upper campground has full hookups but very little shade, lower campground by the creek has only electric but beautifully shaded. Spaces are nicely spaced, Dump station, water station, nice camp store and only 5 minutes from Buena Vista. We have been traveling for 2 years and most parks are not the best but this park is 10 out of 10 for sure!! We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park that is very clean and appears to be well managed and maintained. All roadways and sites are hard-packed gravel. The upper level provides back in and pull-through sites with full hookups. The pull-through sites are long and wide; plenty of room for our 4 slide, 40' coach and tow car to fit comfortably. The lower level along the creek is electric only as other campers have noted. Water and dump station available on the upper level. There are a few groceries and souvenirs available in the office as well as a book exchange and videos. We had good Verizon coverage for our MiFi and cell service. For geocachers, there are two caches within walking distance. One is in the park! We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

I was very impressed with this campground. I had driven past it many times and seen RVs lined up backing up to the highway. I was afraid that's what we were in for. Thankfully, I was 100% off base. Those RVs are either being stored or are for sale. The actual sites are either behind a row of trees or down in a 'lower loop'. The full service sites are on the upper level and are much farther apart than some places we've stayed. We chose to stay in the lower loop which has electric service, but not water or sewer. That being said, a staff member filled our water storage tank on our way in and there are 2 dump stations on the way out. The lower loop was filled with families with small kids, which some may object to. but we loved listening to kids running around playing. It was such a refreshment from watching kids sit around with their noses in their phones. We had a lovely time and we'd stay again in a heartbeat. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We love this park and stay here at least twice a year. We have a 21' travel trailer so we are small enough to stay down by the creek. Try to get a spot on the creek. They're fabulous.

The biggest downfall is the huge light in the middle of the campground that permeates every ounce of darkness. We try to situate our trailer to minimize its offensive brightness. Of course, those people who need to walk to the bathrooms at night must appreciate it. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Go up the road to Buena Vista and visit Cottonwood Hot Springs or go down the road to Salida and explore this quaint town. If you like white water river rafting, you're in the right spot!! Four-wheeling is everywhere. The view of the Collegiate Peaks is awesome.

Don't arrive 1 minute before 1 pm. Treated like kindergartners in regards to "the rules"..no trees in upper area..for the price it's nothing special.

Road noise quite evident all the time.

Superior acting personnel. Sorry..this one is OFF our list!! We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is very nice. We stayed in the upper campground in our RV and had a very nice end space with views of the mountains. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. When I called to make the reservation I told the owner we had three dogs and she made sure to put us right by the fully enclosed dog run (which my 3 pups loved!). The park is really pretty with little streams running through it, and of course the river if you are staying in the lower campground. The WiFi was OK, but we were visiting during the very end of season so there weren't many other guests. We were not able to get any local TV stations, though. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

High priced for what it is. We only had electric hookup. And pay for showers on top of that? A lot of traffic noise in lower lot where we were if you aren't right on the creek. But in the fall one can close windows. A lot of shade and fall colors in the lower lot which was nice. Wish campfires were not allowed, the smoke was very present in the evenings. Didn't see any operators. Had to search out the camp host for the WiFi code. WiFi was very good. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park is very organized and neat. Lower area is for tents or RV's with no sewer hookup. Some lower sites have creek frontage. There is a dishwashing station and bathrooms for the tenters. Sites are gravel and dirt, the full hookup sites are roomy. We were in a "Deluxe" site but our view was a storage yard with RV and Trailer storage and noisy as they move in and out. A pity since there are great mountain views. The Wifi is agonizingly slow when you can connect. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Just got back from five nights at this park. Pull through spaces were nice and wide with picnic table included. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Sites were gravel. The negatives of the park are - no cable, had to pay for the showers - also not a very pretty view. There are two different areas in the park, one is down by the creek where we did not stay. Much prettier down by the creek. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in a pull through in our motor home, basically a dirt parking lot with a view out our front window of an RV/equipment storage lot and beyond that a salvage yard of some type. Grossly overpriced for what they offer! We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here off season in mid October. Had no other campers in the lower campground (electric only sites). Wonderful site next to the creek, good size site, many trees, enjoyed the two nights we stayed. Rarely use campground restrooms, but due to cleanliness used their facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed here in a small motor home, large rigs may have difficulties negotiating the lower campground. Will stay here again to spend more time exploring the surrounding area. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We had site 27 a lovely site by the beautiful Chalk Creek in the lower camp ground. The place is kept immaculate and is possibly the best kept place we have ever stayed in. Very friendly owners. The only thing letting it down is the proximity to the main road and the inherent roar of trucks at night. Lower campgrounds sites don't have water and sewer, but are worth it for the shade and the stream. We camped at Chalk Creek Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
