Overall Rating:

We loved the campground and stayed for a month which the price reflects the lower amount. We had plenty of room on each side with mature trees for shade and were parked on a concrete pad. The bathrooms were spotless and they also provide a laundry room. They have a nice free library and dvd's to choose from. The utilities are all excellent, including the water pressure. We have 63 channels on cable TV (analog) and excellent wifi. The owners are fantastic in helping in every way they can. The park is located in the little town of Olathe so it is a easy walk downtown where there is a great breakfast place, small town but handy. Olathe is also located in the center of so many great areas to sightsee, so it's a great place as a central location. Of course this area is known for its delicious Olathe corn (yumm) and the palisade peaches. We went to Fruita and picked peaches, so much fun in a beautiful location on top of a Mesa. Just some of the places within a days drive: Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Owl Creek Pass, Marble, Grand Mesa, Colorado National Monument, Grand Junction, Ouray, Telluride and so much more. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice, NICE park! We stayed here 11 days and enjoyed it very much. The owners gave us their best spot (in our opinion!). Lots of large shade trees which sure were appreciated in this heat. Electrical ampage was steady at 120. Water pressure just right. Green, green grass and nice flowers and landscaping. Perfectly level site. Very nice laundry room and showers. Nice and quiet too! Its a mile off Highway 50. Located between Montrose and Delta and either of these towns has whatever you may need. We will certainly stay here again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a hidden gem in a town of not too many people. It is off the main highway, clean with lots of trees. I could stay here forever. The river is behind the park, and there is a pond in the middle. Laundry is a little high, but lots of washers and dryers. Only negative I can think of for this hidden gem. You just don't expect something this beautiful and serene when you pull into their driveway. Will come back to enjoy the peace again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The town has very little to offer, but 10 minutes away to the north is Delta, and ten minutes to the south is Montrose. Both have anything you could want. Walmart is in both towns and the one in Montrose is very nice. Lots of places to eat. Yes, you have to go a ways to get things, but all worth it for the pleasure of staying here.

This is a very quiet 55+ park. All utilities were excellent, including the WIFI, best we've had yet. Sites are level, you are led to your site and guided in. As you come in, it is a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, we were in what I believe must be a new section and it was quite a sight, but in fairness to the owner, the lawnmower had broke down and the weeds were taking over what had been planted grass. You can tell they take pride in their business and are very friendly and trying to do a good job of keeping the place up. There were lots of dead trees laying around that took away from the beauty also. Laundry was spotless, $2/load wash and dry, 6 machines each. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Been to a lot of parks in the US and this is in the top 10 of parks. The owners are very nice and it shows how much work they have put in this park. Everything is clean and new looking. The sites are FHU concrete pull-thru's & back-ins with great wi-fi and cable tv. The park is beautifully landscaped with a hiking trail and pond to fish from. Roads in the park are black top and there is plenty of shade trees. Received a discount for being a Vet. The park is really close to town for any supplies you might need. I will stay here again for sure when in the area again. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Really close to town for supplies. There are (3) wineries you can tour close by. You can be in some really cool historic towns within an hour drive from the park. This is a 55 older park.

Tips for other Campers:

Ridgeway State Park is about a 45 minute drive and is really nice. Large lake and river to fish in, swim beach, picnic areas, camping, etc. Ouray is a little further south and absolutely gorgeous scenery. Many 4 wheel drive roads up to the mountains, box canyons, hot springs pool in town. Great breweries, shops and restaurants in town. Small winery and tasting room in Olathe was nice.

Uncompahgre RV Park is just perfect! The owners are very friendly and helpful, with suggestions for things to see and do while in the area. Our site was lovely, spacious and a comfortable distance from the neighbors. There are nice green areas and flowers blooming everywhere. The bathrooms and showers appeared new and were spotless. The property is large with a river running through it and walking along the river each morning was so much fun for my dog and I. There are so many beautiful things to see in the surrounding area, we plan to return and continue our explorations. Highly recommended. Tips for other Campers:

We ate at the Horse Fly in Montrose and had great burgers. We spent a day hiking at Ridgeway State Park, another day hiking in Dominguez Canyon and another day exploring the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The area is full of natural wonders and the surrounding towns are fun to explore as well. A great place to visit and stay awhile!

I do not give "10's" but this one is close. What a gem! Gravel roads but cement parking sites with a large cement patio too. Is very clean operation with trees all over the place. Very spacious sites with mowed grass between the sites. Bath and showers were both spotless. Staff was as perfect as they come. Not only would I stay here again, but rather I would seek it out. Tips for other Campers:

Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park is close by and recommend taking the trip to the less traveled North Rim. Gravel roads but it is well worth it since the views are better and one can lean over the safety railings and look straight down. My advice - spend a couple of days and see both sides. Regardless of Rim choice, sunlight makes all the difference - noon time and the sun illuminates the bottoms of the canyon while sunset brings out different colors and shadows.

Our second stay here, 15 nights this time. A great quiet location with very good utilities. As mentioned, the cable is a bit fuzzy but it is a very good lineup with HBO included. We had a nice shaded back in site on a concrete slab and did not need AC for most of our August stay. People here get a solid 10. The value is a bit off as they have gone up quite a bit since our first stay. Overall a great place to spend some time. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This campground is beautiful. Expected some trailers, etc., but was surprised to find a shady, grassy campground with long pull-thrus on concrete pads. They had happy hour outside the clubhouse and invited us to join. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Several full-timers were there for the summer, all with immaculate sites.
The owners obviously care a lot about this park and work hard to keep it beautiful. Wish we could stay longer than the 2 nights we have. Highly recommend. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Beautifully landscaped clean park with mature trees. Spacious concrete pads. Would have given a 10 rating but no picnic table or fire ring. Very friendly/helpful staff. Good Verizon and Wifi reception. No Direc Tv reception due to trees on our site. Cable available, ours was a snowy reception, not sure if a park issue or our issue. The rate reflects the monthly rate. We have stayed here many times while visiting relatives in the area. This park is buried back in the small town of Olathe and is quiet. Long pull thrus and beautiful landscaping make it an easy place to land for a while. The owners have worked diligently to bring this park up to its full potential. The individual bathrooms with showers and the laundry are always immaculate, something not often seen in the camping realm. Many folks come and stay the whole summer and enjoy the peacefulness. We will return to this park. We camped at Uncompahgre River RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is convenient to shopping in both Delta and Montrose. Enjoy cherries in July, early August is Sweet Corn Festival in Olathe, and Palisade Peaches come shortly after.

Make sure if this is your first visit to the area to plan time for day trips to Grand Mesa, Ouray, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and McClure Pass to Redstone, Glenwood Springs, and Aspen. It's beautiful country and lots of recreation in the area.
