3 Parks near Ouray, Colorado
Aug 2015 - $36.00
We enjoyed our stay at Four J due mostly to the friendly staff, close proximity to town and easy access to great hiking trails. Some mobile homes with more permanent residents were mixed in along with the transient Rvers. The park did not offer a lot of extra amenities, but basic services such as water and electric worked well. Park Internet worked close to the office, but did not reach the spot we were assigned. Our Verizon service worked adequately however. Cable TV was not provided, but we were able to get two local channels. This park does not recycle. We particularly enjoyed being able to walk into town for shopping and dining, being able to walk to the local hot springs pool, and even being able to take off for several nice hikes without having to drive to the trailhead. - The Borgs

Adequate, spaces too close together, sites not level. Public road too close to campsites. - Tricia B

We stayed only one night but would have loved to extend it!
I understand why some would complain and didn't like it and I think I would have felt the same if we didn't have a River site!! Yes, that's right! It is the only RV park that's literally in downtown Ouray, but on the edge of it, meaning the mountain is in front of you there's no where to go, and I mean that it's absolutely awesome, it left me in Awe for hours.
Wii is OK, Verizon worked great, I didn't use bathrooms so can't say anything about that.
In other words, everything that people complained about in their reviews of the park is probably true Unless you ask for the River back in spots, it's just awesome, the river is loud but amazing (we personally love it). - MikeMayNaama

Best experience we've ever had. We were lucky to get a campsite right across from the office, the hot tub and the restaurant -all the good amenities. We had a nice shady spot. Would highly recommend this facility. People were so nice and friendly. - Wendy_H_B

Our site was back in to the river, we loved it! After walking around we saw that some sites were more specious and with grass (the single number sites like 5/6/7 etc).
The park itself doesn't seem to be so upscale but it's actually pretty big and very charming since it has different niches of camping.
I would definitely go back but will ask for the River back in with grass sites.
We stayed there for only 2 nights and the Wifi was actually not bad especially at night.
Verizon worked great!! - MikeMayNaama

There are 2 types of cabins, regular and deluxe. We stayed in both and they were both very clean and beautiful! Water is on the basic cabin site which makes it convenient. A perfect stay on a lovely location. Staff very accomodating. Clean laundry. - MeetTheGriswolds

Nice ,clean ,quiet park. We paid for 6 nights and got the seventh night free. Wi-fi worked very good at our site. Verizon cell work good at park. Close to downtown Ouray. Sites are just a hair close but that is the case in most parks. - 2Happy_Campers

The map on this site is wrong. The map actually shows the north end of 4J+1+1 campground. Ouray RV Park is 0.4 miles north. - SusanRon

This is a good park with all the basic needs for a successful camping stay. The sites are level, all the hookups are functional, and there is a picnic table on each site. Satellite access for TV works well. The view of the surrounding and sheer mountain is terrific. On the negative side, the park is really a large gravel parking lot, and the park itself is not particularly attractive, even though the surrounding view is. We would stay here again, as this is a good jump-off point for all the surrounding activities in Ouray and nearby Silverton. I definitely would rather stay in Ouray than drive my RV up the narrow, winding road to Silverton. - hoppytoad
