This was our third time here and we hope to be back next year in the Fall for the breathtaking beauty of this area. This is a very large RV park and takes a huge amount of work to keep up; but I think they do a good job. It is dusty from the gravel. WiFi was slow to the point there were a couple of times I went and used my personal hotspot (as a pro photographer there are quite a few images sent out!). Staff varies but I always am more forgiving than most - particularly this late in the season! We camped at Ouray KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive Red Mountain Pass in the early morning and later in afternoon for the good lighting on the beauty of this one of the most beautiful drives in America. But be darn careful as there are places of 10-12" shoulder, no guard rail and straight down several hundred feet - curvy as well. I DO NOT recommend driving it with an RV.

The weather in this area is mild compared to the temperatures in town, and nights around the campfire were nice and warm for September. The sites are large and comfortable, though the fire rings were small and the picnic tables fairly worn out. The best part is how clean the campground is, with private bathrooms and showers. Everything was spotless all the time. There was good lighting at night, but not too much. All spots were nice, especially the tent sites up against the field. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

It's not in Ouray, so you'll need to travel a few miles to gas and restaurants. Ridgway is probably more convenient.

Very large park a few miles north of Ouray. Lots of trees and roomy sites. Dust can be an issue depending on your spot and roof type sat antennas can be blocked by trees. Fairly quiet at night with very little highway noise which is really nice. It's an older park though and the facilities are showing their age even with attentive maintenance. If you are with a group, try to get spots in the same area otherwise there can be long walks. We usually avoid KOA parks but this one is a viable option for Ouray. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a better than average KOA. Our space was pretty large full hook ups with grass, picnic table and fire pit. Staff was helpful with all the local attractions. WiFi was pretty sad, even in the early morning hours, it just needs a major upgrade. The Bar-B-Q dinner was a very good deal, go early it is very busy place. There is no off-air TV channels, bring your Satellite dish. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Motorhome.

The main problem is wifi, virtually unusable. Even when connected, the speed is of 3rd world quality. The owners know about the problem, but don't care. The campground is fairly dusty, even slightest breeze will pick up dirt and carry around campsites. Otherwise, decent location, nice surrounding and pretty quiet. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The good is the people were friendly, the grounds were clean and the restrooms were very clean. Otherwise this campground was not spectacular. The sites were all gravel except for some patches of grass. All sites had a table and firepit. There are lots of trees, and scenery is beautiful. Internet was strong but so slow. There was no pool - unusual for a KOA. There was no cable TV - sad, but not unusual. They have breakfast everyday - worth avoiding. They have BBQ on weekends - just so-so. Pizza on Mon/Tue was decent. They have music on weekends - bring your cowboy hat and boots and expect to dance and have fun. I rate this place average. Many KOAs are better, but there is little competition any better in the area; and there are several, Their rates are pricey by about $15. I would try another campground if I visit again. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is the best rv park in Ouray. The others are just parking spaces right on the highway. This park is beautifully situated among trees with mountain views, and is off the highway. It is fairly quiet, especially at night. Sites are a bit close, but we had a patch of grass next to our site. No pool and no cable tv. WiFi is hit or miss, but Verizon signal was consistent. In my opinion, it's just overpriced. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

CG 5 miles north of Ouray actually. Typical KOA with lots of amenities - meals for purchase, recreation areas, etc. Large bathrooms with plenty of showers and stalls. Very nice staff. Lots of trees. Wonderful to hear the creek/river running near our site, although our site was a little tight. We would stay again. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Motorhome.

What a beautiful location. The campground is clean and well maintained. The Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Lots to do between Black Canyon NP, Ouray, Ridgeway and Telluride. Be sure to take a soak at Ouray Hot Springs or Orvis Hot Springs, both nearby. Gravel Site with grass around next to creek has full service 50amp, picnic table and fire ring. Verizon 4G LTE is good and park wifi is strong. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Owner is a great guy. And most in the office. One is very condescending - dealt with that person 3 times (unfortunately) and it was like they were doing me a favor to talk to me. The last time I asked a question that they could not answer and only owner could - it dealt with best roads to next destination. I asked if they could have him call me. Was told they were very busy so ............... I did not hear from him over the next three days (nor saw him to ask) so kinda doubt he was even given the message. It is a nice place but ...... Well-located, well-run, not cheap. Sites are very close together -- a glorified gravel parking lot with some trees. Wifi gets slow in the evening. Laundry room is well equipped but can be busy. If you need hookups, this is probably the nicest and quietest park in the area -- most of the others are right on the highway. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This is a campground we return to year after year. Main bathhouse was recently renovated and always a clean. Site 20 is a great water/electric only that has cabins on both sides. I find that the cabins tend to be quieter neighbors as they do not need to tear down camp in the morning when they are leaving. It is also across from the playground and hot tub. Hot tub was in easy reach of our baby monitor. Camped in Tent Trailer We camped at Ouray KOA in a Tent Trailer.

This campground is not dog friendly. They make you sign a waiver when you check in that you could be asked to leave with no refund. Although children can yell and make noise your dogs are not alowed to bark. Also, the staff is not very friendly or accomadating. It is not known on their website that you can pick a particular site. We tried to move and was told the sites were reserved. You may need to request not to be put by the dumpster!!! Very few bathouses so every night there is a line trying to take showers. Also the internet does not work properly unless you are next to the office. We camped at Ouray KOA in a Motorhome.
