There is no phone service here. The internet is not too bad. It is right along the San Juan river. Sites were a decent distance away. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park is nicely located next to the river. Beautiful setting. A little pricey, but I believe that being close to the resort town warrants the cost. Was a little concerned when we checked in: parked by the pool. Above ground, vinyl type, back yard pool with sides sagging. Sites were a little crowded. The staff was very pleasant: nice people. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start by saying that winter, cold-weather camping is not for everyone. But if you are like us, and enjoy snow skiing and are adapted to winter camping, Pagosa Riverside is a must stay place! They keep about 8 spaces open during the winter, snow-plowed, with full hookups (50 amp). These 8 spaces are "first come, first serve" and are a flat rate of $30/day. Management, workers, and the owner are very friendly and want to assure you are comfortable and happy. The campground is beautiful, a wonderful setting along the San Juan River. In the winter there is only one pull-thru space, and our 38' fifth wheel was too long for that space. We had a back-in spot that was well plowed and the utilities shoveled clear. Management and the owner were very busy with remodeling the office building and bathrooms. I would guess that the office and bathrooms look very nice and updated in preparation for the warm weather campers! If you do winter camp, be aware that the San Juan River Valley usually is 10 degrees colder at night than Pagosa Springs due to the cold air descending from Wolf Creek Pass. We are definitely looking forward to visiting Pagosa Riverside next winter (and skiing Wolf Creek) and seeing the friends we made with Management and the Owner! And, who knows, we might even be able to warm weather camp there sometime! We highly recommend Pagosa Riverside Campground! We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are 50 years or older, check out the Grey Wolf Ski Club! Grey Wolf members get a two-tier discounted rate on Wolf Creek season lift tickets plus many social functions and a weekly Tuesday gathering at a local pub.

The Hot Springs are very well worth a visit! There are one-time, weekly, and monthly passes.

There are many winter activities around Pagosa Springs: hot air balloons, cross-country ski trails, snow shoe trails, snowmobiles, a winter festival, etc.

Forget how much we paid but it was reasonable. Extended our stay by several nights because we loved this campground so much. Stayed in site 80 on the San Juan River. Riverfront sites are close of course but if you're lucky enough to get one it will be worth the extra money and proximity to your neighbor. Lovely view, lovely to hear the water tumbling over the rocks. Lovely, in October, to watch the leaves falling from the riverfront trees. Nice paths to walk around the campground and by the river. VERY pleasant and helpful work-campers. Laundry clean. Would definitely return! We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our decide stay at this campground. Power was 121, satisfactory. Our site woven looked a pond next to the river. The pond is a bit muddy but there are a couple paddle boats for kids. Sites are reasonably large with some privacy. We are in a pull thru. Office staff was very nice as we checked in quite early. Would stay here again even though it's pricey. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

Very enjoyable park. Had site 70 (only one with a cement pad) right across from the pond for extended stay but also stayed in river site a couple of nights. Dee-lightful. Wifi was RV park wifi but they really tried to keep it running. Staff are excellent. Sites are reasonably spacious and level. Can't think of anything that would make this park much better. Close to town, quiet, scenic, peaceful, good utilities, good value. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Fantastic campground. We were a little scrunched up until the folks next door left on Sunday. Very very friendly workampers and managers. Friendly neighbors and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will return. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

PLENTY to do. Hot springs, hiking, fishing. Loads of restaurants. We enjoyed The Junction restaurant on the edge of town where we saw Does with their fawns almost ever single time we drove past. Hummingbirds galore...invest in a hummingbird feeder..it's worth it!!!

Wifi is not good, but the park is fine. With the inexpensive technology available, why are these parks dishing out poor wifi? We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly staff.Fishing from the park was fun. Spaces up front were a little crowded and grass was scarce in our site. I recommend that you make your reservations early and get a space close to the river. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

Over the years, we've stayed and enjoyed this park. We were looking forward to our stay, but when we hooked up we found the power to be low (under 110V no load). In fact, as soon as we started to draw power, our EMS turned power off as it dropped under 104V. I noted this to the owner, who verified the under 110V power but he thought it was OK. I have a large coach with sophisticated electronics, and proper voltage is important so I asked for a refund and left. I understand that they have had a new power grid installed, so the problem may be fixed by now, but we could not stay here. To their credit, they didn't hesitate to refund my payment. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.

$47 with tax. Very nice campground along the San Juan River. Good Wi-Fi and cable TV. When you first drive in it looks a bit rough and trashy but when you arrive at your site it looks and feels "outdoorsy". A very nice setting. However, I feel it was too expensive for what you get at this time of year. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A lovely campground on the San Juan River. Friendly owner/manager. The dogs loved walking along the river and pond. It was quiet during out visit but in the summer it must be very crowded. We stayed two days and just chilled out. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

I really enjoyed my stay here. We were given a spot that was to small for our motorhome (40'). We asked for a refund to move to another park and they let us choose from several other spots to keep us. The one we picked was perfect. The store is very nice and has more to offer than most places you will ever stay at. The private lake is fun fishing, the play area is good for kids. I will be back as long as I get the spot I want. This park is old and not well maintained. It is only a gravel lot next to a dirty, mosquito infested pond. We were so disappointed in this park we wanted to leave immediately but knew we couldn’t find a park in the area because of the rodeo. The park is mismanaged with small tent trailers in the spaces that should be reserved for big 5th wheels and motorhomes with the larger RVs in tiny cramped sites. They also do not like long term customers and would rather cater to the 1 or 2 night people. The laundry was very old with only two dryers. I would not recommend this park and will never return. Owner has been in business for a very long time. She is a very nice lady. Really liked this park. Our pull thru was located right on the river and was very level with a little shade and picnic table. Major renovations were being done while we were there but construction noise did not bother us. Did not use any of the facilities while we were there. We stayed here at the recommendation of friends and we were not disappointed. We would stay again. We camped at Pagosa Riverside Campground in a Motorhome.
