Wow! Rifle Falls State Park is a quick 10 minutes north of Rifle Gap SP. Absolutely worth it! Amazingly scenic with lush vegetation! With only 15 rv sites, this is the smallest SP we've been to, but it is the most beautiful without a doubt! Immaculately kept and very clean. Most sites are long pull-throughs, but our site, #003 was a back-in listed for 29 feet and under. Not to worry, it is actually MUCH longer than the site advertises. My 30 ft trailer AND truck fit easily with room to spare! Electrical only, but there are quite a few water spigots scattered around. (One is right next to site #003!) Most sites like ours are mostly shaded, but there are a couple that are more open and a few heavily shaded. Our site was moderately level, needed a few leggo blocks. The sites on the east side of the road all back to a beautiful creek! We heard that the Falls can get very busy on the weekends, but they have a policy of "one in, one out" when the falls parking lot is full. The lot only has about 20 parking spaces, so traffic is not too bad. No cell service whatsoever. The nearest place we found with service is back at Rifle Gap. There is no dump station at Rifle Falls, but there is a big one at Rifle Gap. Just tell them you camped at the falls. Very dog-friendly park! No camp store, but plenty of stores in Rifle about 20 minutes away. Simply stunning. We will be back! We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We must have walked to the falls at least three times a day! It's that beautiful. Looks like something in Hawaii!

5 days, 4 nights. Campground itself is gorgeous, falls are beautiful, lots of deer, also saw turkeys, muskrats, hawks and fish. Nice grass, trees dispersed, electric but no water. Campsite surface was gravel, mostly shady, and included a fire ring and picnic table.

More of a city park atmosphere than a camping atmosphere. Tons of traffic every day driving by your campsite to go up the road 100 yards from the campsites to the parking area for the falls. Falls are lovely. Traffic all day & half the night with screaming kids, loud stereos and barking dogs are not my idea of camping. My dog is trained not to bark while camping unless something serious happens. These people were just rude & totally unconcerned with the noise they were making. I will not return. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

There are only 13 RV sites and 7 tent sites, so we felt the need to book online, which costs $10. Then you have to pay a $7 day use fee, which makes it a bit expensive at $39 altogether. The place is very attractive with grass and trees and the sites are very spacious, 8 pull through loops and four back ins. There is no TV (or internet, but didn't expect that) and the restrooms are just vault toilets. The trail to the waterfall continues on past a cave and up to the top of the falls, worth the walk. We also did the squirrel trail. It's a 12 mile drive after you turn off the I-70 but worth it. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This S.P. is immaculate! Grass was mowed and cared for better than most peoples lawns. Sites were level, tables good, electric was fine. This is NOT a party park so you will get a good nights' sleep. We will go back. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful state park, green lush vegetation. All of the utilities worked great. There are no showers here and you have to share the water faucet with your neighbor. There are a number of trails in the park with one going to the falls. The bathrooms (2) are heavily used due to the heavy stream of people coming in to the park to use their day facilities and trails, one being the trail (short) to the falls. The bathrooms are clean but really smell bad. Just up above the fish hatchery which is on hwy 325 the one you drove up on (the kids can feed the fish) is a beautiful 2 mile drive that goes through a slot type canyon with sheer walls with lots of vegetation with a creek that runs along the road. This drive is not to be missed, it’s gorgeous!! The town of Rifle owns the property and there are numerous picnic tables along the 2 miles. There is a fee to use the area if you park to picnic or use their trail to the Ice Cave. While on this drive you’ll see rock climbers along the way. The road is hard packed dirt and is in very good condition, you don’t need a 4x4. The dump station is located at Rifle Gap State Park and is easy to get in and out of. If it wasn’t for all the foot and car traffic we would come back, but we really enjoyed the drive above the hatchery and the falls. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

I would highly recommend Rifle Falls, not only for the falls themselves (which were pretty), but for the campground in general. We were impressed with the shade and the greenery (after all, this is western COLORADO, not western OREGON). We stayed in the handicapped-access site because my elderly mother was staying with us; it was a completely paved site and had a high fire ring built into the slab itself. Had it not been for the unbelievable wind gusts we experienced it would have been very enjoyable by the fire. I think that when we return we'll try to stay with friends at #10 & 11 --still close to the stream, but also close to the falls. Keep in mind that school groups often come here, so if you want to avoid crowds I'd recommend the weekend. If you're looking for flush toilets, just don't bother coming. They have vault toilets and, yes, they stink. We have a bathroom in our RV and I'm really glad. It is what it is, though, and since you're reading this you can come prepared (with a clothespin for your nose). We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a really nice park. It is tucked way back off the I-70. But it's quiet and very lovely. There is a nice trail to walk around and the campground was well kept. We only stayed one night, and did not have reservations but the camp host was able to get us in. Not terribly big. We didn't use the restrooms, so I don't know about the facilities. Nice place to stop. We would stay here again. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rifle Falls is incredibly beautiful. We had a great site, stayed in site 4, it was shaded and very nice, along the water although a steep drop to the water but listening to it was great. There is so much foliage you can't see the water unless you walk over to look at it. The falls are beautiful, there is a hike with caves along it, you hike up one side of the falls and up over them and then back down on the other side. There is a fish hatchery near for the kids. We will definitely go back. We camped at Rifle Falls State Park in a Tent Trailer.
