We stayed at the Four Seasons RV Park. It is NOT a "Resort." We highly recommend NOT staying here.

Rude staff. Poor information--not given information about RV site types and cost--just "take it or leave it." We were assigned a spot in the row facing US 50 surrounded by people staying one night while we were here for three verrrrryyy long weeks.

We were not given an escort to our site and ended up entering facing the "wrong way." After three days we were forced to pull-out, drive around, and reorient during a rain storm.

The staff were snippy. Example: I told one boy we did not have a picnic table; he said we did. I said we did not. Then he looked and confirmed I was telling the truth.

Had we been offered the option of a more expensive site farther from the highway and away from the "one-nighters" we might have taken it, but we were not given an option--just given a price and confirmation of reservation.

There are restrooms but they are not very clean and they smell funny, as does the laundry room. In fact, the laundry room smells like a sewer leak overlain with mildew and dirty diapers. Most of the washers were broken...ditto the dryers. There are only 3-4 of each type, so we had to go into town to do laundry. Not enough working machines and a really foul smell.

The sites do not have concrete or gravel patio areas and are therefore constantly muddy. The sites are fairly narrow and made entirely of grass (except under the RV), and the sprinklers come on getting everything outside wet.

Children are allowed to run around after the 10 P.M. quiet hour start. Of course the staff have long since left and don't know this.

There are trees overhanging much too close to the RV roof--we could not adjust our antenna since it was in the trees, and had to climb on the roof to lower it for our unexpected move since the antenna was trapped in the trees. The trees interfere with fully extending the awning--and a fully extended awning intrudes into the adjacent site. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for one night at one of the sites facing US-50. Road noise is definitely noticeable, but with a fan on it's fine. Price reflects a Good Sam discount on a $36.50 price.

Site itself was fine and level, sites are a bit close together but have a nice grassy median between. Dumpsters were filled to bursting, which made taking out garbage kind of gross.

I had three main gripes with this campground:

- Their dryers give you THREE MINUTES per quarter. What the heck?! I have never seen such terrible pricing. For that price, the dryer better be strong, but of course it wasn't. I put in $2.00 worth of quarters and got 24 minutes, plus clothing that was still warm and wet. So disappointing.

- Sprinklers placed directly along the edge of the grassy medians, which make it impossible to enter or exit your RV or trailer without getting soaked.

- They have a sign posted at their main entrance from the highway stating "LP Gas refilled here", however they will not refill unless you are a guest. Why have the sign there then? Have a sign inside if it's for guests only. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need to refill propane, the True Value in town on US-50 fills both canisters and in-RV tanks.

Walmart is right along US-50, about a 10 minute drive away.

Be sure to check out downtown Salida, it's beautiful!!

After entering from a very steep entry, we were concerned about heading down the road to the river spot. The road is bumpy and needing maintenance, but the sight turned out to be OK. The river was rushing by and a little scary, but it was fun watching the rafters. I feel there needs to be a little more attention to upkeep, there were weeds, trees needing limbs trimmed and other maintenance that could make this park very nice. The park has no cable, we were unable to get Direct because of hills & trees, and only 1 local channel came in on antenna. It left us wanting for info.

It served our purpose for visiting but would hope they would put some effort into making this a nicer place. Of course all parks depend upon the campers who visit. We had a older gentleman who was up early slamming his doors and yelling at his dog! Every morning starting this way was not pleasant. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This one is hard to rate as it has new owners and they are trying hard. But still, the access off the highway has a serious crown, twisting the rig. The road in and out of the park are seriously rutted. The premium loops are OK, but the site we had was small, narrow and short. With the other traffic parked around us site entry was extremely difficult. Probably OK for trailers, fiver and shorter motor coaches but difficult for big rigs. It did have decent Internet but the rates were quite high. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Pricey for us but we had a riverfront site. Beautiful view. Park was well kept and the owners were very friendly. I would stay here again. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is just a few minutes outside of Salida and right on the river. While we did not have a river site we were close enough to enjoy the sight and sound of it. This park appears to be family owned and operated and everyone was friendly and helpful. While they are working hard there is a lot more to do to make this a first-rate park. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a quiet stay and the location is great. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This park needs a lot of work. The roads are mostly dirt and very much in need of gravel. You can tell they were gravel at one time. While our site was level with shade, the electrical hookups are horrible, in need of a major upgrade. I was afraid we would have some type of damage to our rig since the hookups were so old and outdated, but thankfully we did not. Did not use the shower or restroom facilities. The laundry room had five washing machines and two were out of order. The room was in need of a cleaning and smelled of a dead animal. The general appearance of the park was bad, there were dead hanging plants and all buildings and fences could use a good coat of paint. I would think twice about staying here again because of the electrical hookups. The rate charged is entirely too much for what you get. Only good thing about this park is the view of the river. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camping here for 6 nights. We could not plug into the 110 on our pole. They could not fix. Said they would have to shut down part of the park. Told us to use our neighbors. Also, on Saturday the laundry had a temporarily closed sign on it. I asked how long it would be closed and they said through Labor Day (which would be Monday). The park was full and they had to watch the water pressure. Well that is not temp it is closed. That is closed for 3 days. Last, they tell you when you check in to please keep your dogs off of the grass (what little grass their is). They even have signs posted, No Dogs on Grass. I asked why and they said their urine kills the grass. I have never heard such. They have two places for your dogs to potty and it is weeds and rocks. Yea right, like my little Yorkshires are going to go there. They went on the grass and I think it was greener when I left. Do not think I will be returning here. Also, the fire ring for you to use is right by the dumpster. Don't think so. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

I liked this campground very much, but not our site. Park is clean, quiet, and right on the Arkansas River. Bathrooms & laundry room were clean, but had a funky smell (maybe from the water?). Our kids managed to keep themselves entertained here, but we really didn't spend too much time in the park. With all of Colorado that is readily accessible from this location, we spent most of our days elsewhere. But coming home and sleeping to the sound of the river or wasting away a morning fishing right behind my site were real treats. Staff were very friendly & helpful, even loaned me some small tools to fix a problem I had with my toad lights. My only complaint was that our site, number R17, is at a 90 degree angle to the one next to it, R16. That site's sewer & water hookups were literally under our picnic table and a large RV that was backed into the site took up most of the river-front portion of our site. So avoid R17 when you book, but otherwise we'd stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 weeks at this park, so we did get 3 free nights. Enjoyed our stay very much. Road noise is very minor if you are down on the lower part of the park. Some of the sites are very close together, particularly if you have a river site. We prefer to not have a site right on the river, as they are very tight to get into and quite close together. We were across the road and had a very nice site. Tengo Internet was down completely for several days when we arrived. At best it was slow most of the time and almost unusable at night when everyone returned to the park. There was only one tower, and I believe that this is the reason so many parks have bad service with Tengo. Staff was super. As stated by others, TV was not too good, mostly cooking shows and PBS which showed the same thing over and over. We could get ABC also. Not much for kids to do, other than ride bikes. No exercise facilities, but the city has a very nice Aquatic Center where you can swim for a fee. Great place for a base camp to explore the many beautiful places nearby. We have been here several times before and plan to be back. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We really enjoyed this campground. Beautiful setting on the river. Ample space in most sites. The sites right on the river look small, but we saw very large rigs using them and they fit well. Bathhouse is small, but very clean. The owners and staff could not be any nicer or more helpful. Very friendly folks. We caught lots of fish in the river and watched river rafters. Great jeep trails close by. You just can't beat this area for scenery and stuff to do. Close to Salida, which is a cute little town. Just a wee bit of road noise. So a 9 not a 10,but we would stay here again. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We camped at Four Seasons two weeks. The sites are very clean and we had plenty of room for our 39 foot motorhome with a full side slide. There is no cable, and you will only pick up 4 channels on your antenna. Two of those will be Spanish channels. The staff is friendly. There are only 2 reason I gave an 8 rating, one is because of the terrible problem with dust. There are river sites, but if you are going to stay any more than a few days, they will not give those sites to you. That is the second reason I gave them an 8 rating. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were on Highway 50 and it was getting dark. Most of the parks along the river are closed for the season. We saw some lights on, parked on the side of the road before pulling in. I was going to walk down to the office when a man waved us to come on down. The Managers were extremely nice, they opened the office up, gave us a wonderful site that was level and perfect for our size (45' and towing). The next morning we were very pleased with a beautiful view of the mountain and the river. Everything worked perfectly. We were very pleased and look forward to returning. This park does such a good job of taking care of customers that most customers are repeats. Sites are okay for space, with grass, table, etc. and hookups in correct places. Lots of trees for shade. They had ice cream on Friday night and coffee and donuts on Saturday am. I don't usually like RV parks because of noisy kids playing all over, but this park didn't have that. We will go back.
