The park states that you can only have campfires in "designated areas." but if you bring your own fire dish, you can have a campfire and smoke out all your neighbors. Last night the guy two trailers up filled our trailer with smoke and it got my wife sick. We had to leave a day early, because of him. They say they'll charge you $35 if you leave trash in your campsite but we found trash in our site that had not been cleaned up from the previous camper. Don't they pick it up? We have been here several times before and find this park aging without repairs. Plus, they put too large a rig in spaces so the tow vehicle or dinghy has to park on the street, making it hard to maneuver when backing or leaving. Bathrooms are dated but clean. For $42 a night plus taxes, you'd think you'd get a better park. We won't be back. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Owner/manager very pleasant person. We have found a lot of campers have dogs, big dogs; but barking doesn't seem to be a problem. CG strongly emphasizes the need to clean up after your pets. Entry in and out of CG is steep and awkward; difficult to see driveway when traveling east on Rt 50. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

There was one problem with our site. The drain plug was located way in the back so we had to purchase an extension hose. Then, when I drained the tanks, I had to "walk" the hose back to get everything out of it. Not a lot of fun. A couple of other comments on the RV Park. The owners, with reason perhaps, did not provide any way of getting change for the laundry or any vending machines. I need two quarters to finish a load and had to go from site to site until I found someone I could buy some quarters from. It was also expensive. $68 per night if you wanted the river view. I have to rethink that. For a review of the campground with pictures, visit my blog at http://www.gregs-into.com/ We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We had a level site right on the Arkansas River. It had a very nice patio. The owners were very helpful. However, the road needs regrading. and the entrance and exit are quite difficult for a big rig - curved and steep. The dog areas are gravel and small. Friends of ours stayed in one of the cabins, which was clean and stocked, but with inadequate air conditioning. We probably would not stay here again. This is a good clean park along the Arkansas River and right off of Hwy 50 but very close to Salida, CO. The park is much improved since 2015. The sites are flat with lots of shade. My favorite sites are the ones that back up to the river. Their wifi is very fast but there is no television service. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The bathrooms and showers are very old and smell bad. We used our own RV, but when you're paying that much, updated facilities should come with the price. Rude and disrespectful manager and owner of this resort. Keep driving. There are many better choices in the area with people that are glad to have your business and treat you with courtesy. Bathrooms are very outdated and could have been cleaner (spider webs but at least spiders were dead). Nice person helping us locate our spot but didn't give us the code for the restroom or WiFi so we had to go off-site to find a bathroom while waiting for a return call. Pretty pricey considering it's off season and therefore water hookups not yet available. Hopefully better during summer season. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed right on the River. Water was turned off since it still got cold at nights. Price seemed a bit high since the water was off and there were plenty of sites available. In fact, we were one of only 7 RVs there. Could have gotten a cheaper site but we wanted to be on the River. Bathrooms were quite cold. Not sure why they didn't have the heaters on but made for quick showers. Very clean campground and the people were very nice. This was our third time staying here and we'll be back again! Tips for other Campers:

Within a few miles of Salida for restaurants & shopping. Nice Walmart 6 miles away. Hit the Patio Pancake House for Breakfast to have the Frankie (half order fills me up...can't imagine anyone eating the full order in one sitting!). 50 Burger has some great burgers & fries. Try the excellent margaritas at Fiesta Mexicana, their Steak Fajitas are fantastic, & the people there are the best! Enjoy the old downtown area also. Bensons often has band on Sunday afternoon's during summer.

I backed into site rather than pull through because of low branches and tighter turn in our 40' MH . The site was near the highway and FHUs were fine including good wifi and the cable tv . Parked car in front of RV. We were not here for the park amenities, but the nearby sights. I did not look at bathrooms, laundry etc. as we have our own. The river front property was very nice. I would stay here again. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This place is all about location, close to Salida and right on the banks of the Arkansas River. Anywhere else it would be just an average park, but the location makes it magical. We intended to stay 4 nights but decided right away that was not enough. The park is always pretty full, so we had to move to stay 4 more nights. We moved to a premium riverfront site at $68/day, and it was worth every bit of that, although way more than I would usually pay. You can't beat sitting on your riverbank patio listening to the water rush by. Our original site across the road was also nice. The only bad thing I can say is the electrical system needs upgraded. We had no problems with voltage or interruptions, but they were asking people to put their water heaters on propane to save strain on the system. The boxes are old, worn and very close to the ground. Hookups are at the back of the site, so you may need extra hose or extensions. Site lengths are all over the place, so reserve the appropriate size. Someone said Verizon service was bad, but we had good enough Verizon phone and internet. I definitely plan to come back. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Salida is a great tourist town with all kinds of activities close. Rafting, tubing, kayaking and fishing on the river (catch and release). Hiking and bicycling are big, also plenty of back country driving nearby for Jeep and ATV. Lots of good restaurants, try the Boathouse, with open air patio overlooking the river.

Park was acceptable, but minimal. The draw appears to be the location on the river. We selected a site in the "D" row in order to be away from the highway. Restrooms and showers were clean, but very dated with some chipped tiles. We felt the price was high for the quality of the facilities. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This place just looks tired. What saves it is its location on the banks of the Arkansas river. If planning to stay a few days it's worth the upcharge to get a riverside campsite. We were transients so opted for easy in easy out. Bathrooms and showers are small and old, stair railings show peeling paint, grounds are pretty well kept but the park really shows its age in the structures that support it. Don't know how their restrooms got a nine rating in latest Good Sam campgroung guide. I'm thinking four, but they were clean. We camped at Four Seasons RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 2 nights at this campground and were satisfied with most everything but, don't try to do laundry here! The dryer's quarter slot does not line up correctly with the change compartment and it gets jammed. There is no change machine and the office does not open till 9 AM. I had to wait for 2 hours to get change and then it got jammed so I had to have the maintenance guy come open the whole dryer front up to get my quarters along with someone else's out. Then I put a dollar in and it gave me all of 12 minutes worth of drying time. Crazy. Our stay here was fine, I just don't recommend you plan on doing any laundry without some frustration. We had a river front site, the sound of the River was wonderful. The park has many mature trees and is well kept. The desk staff are friendly, and any questions or concerns were looked after promptly. The new remodel of the premium spots are well done, the spots are angled to face the river, and gives an almost private view. Wifi and water pressure are very good.
