This is a wonderful KOA. The park is located along the Colorado River. The layout of this park is exceptional and takes advantage of its river-side location. There's a trail along the river branch edge, and a foot bridge leads to a small island with another trail. Sites are generally generously sized. Interior roads are large and easily navigated. The office is a beautifully designed building, untypical for an RV park. When I commented on it, I learned from a staff member that the owner is an architect. Even the sparkling-clean restrooms have unexpected touches such as unique light fixtures. There are many amenities such as a large dog park and a swimming pool with a hot tub. The owner's touch is clear throughout the park. I wish they would share more pictures on their website to give prospective campers a preview. We camped on a back-in river front which was spacious and level, which allowed us to enjoy the wonderful view of the island, river, and mountains. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Miner's Climb restaurant in Silt has excellent food. It's a gourmet restaurant where you can wear jeans! The margaritas are made with fresh-squeezed limes. If local peaches are in season and for sale in the office, buy some...delicious.

This is not a bad park, fairly close to the freeway which of course, means some noise. With the AC running, it's not bad. They do have a very nice pool area and it's close to the Colorado river for the scenery. The staff was very friendly and other than the cost, I'd stay here again. They have both back-in and pull-thru sites. They charge a premium for a pull-thru. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

We full-time around U.S. in MH w/tow to sightsee, so we look for campgrounds with pull-thru sites satellite-friendly with 50 amp FHU. We usually stay only one or two nights. The campground was new, clean, easy to navigate, and campsite was level and met all of our criteria. Absolutely would stay here again. Also, it was short way off I-70 but we didn't notice any road noise. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is located right off of I-70/Frontage Rd., but the highway noise did not seem to be a problem. Utilities are good (water is 80 psi, so you may need a flow limiter or pressure regulator). Sites are very level & easy to maneuver. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to the town of Silt, but Rifle is a short drive to your west & Glenwood Springs is to your east. Both are very nice with alot to offer. Several rafting businesses in Glenwood.

We stayed here one night on our way back from Dinosaur NM for one night. It is a new park, conveniently located right off the highway and adjacent to the Colorado River. There is a beautiful clubhouse with games, air hockey, comfy chairs, a nice camp store, clean restroom/showers and friendly staff. Our site was gravel and waterfront, with a nice fire ring and picnic tables. Firewood is available for $6/6 pieces, which was well seasoned and burned nicely. They have a playground and very nice pool. My only complaint was that on arrival, we were told that the pool was closed because grass had blown into it and clogged the pump. We were all pretty disappointed because the kids were looking forward to swimming during the drive there. When I noticed that the water was clearly circulating and there was no debris in the pool, the reason changed to the chemicals were not balanced. That was the only reason I did not give it a 10. We will stay here again if in the area. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

it is a great little park right on the river. Get a back in or patio site as those are right on the river. We had a yummy Saturday morning breakfast of pancakes and sausage, juice and coffee. Five dollars. Two ways for them to improve the park. If they would lay down more gravel on the roads or put speed limit signs, it would cut down on dust. Second, they have sprinklers for their "lawn." The lawns are mostly dirt and mud (when watered). The sprinklers get water spots on your RV, but they do warn you. Just not sure the lawn present is worth the spots on the RV, yet if they did not water at all it, would be yellow grass, dirt and mud. Sometimes it is difficult to win in dry areas. We would stay again. Trees are present, but not yet large enough to provide shade. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

A newer KOA located a short distance off I-70 west of Glenwood Springs. Landscaping is clearly being added, but currently there is no real shade. Freeway noise was not a problem for us. The patio sites are right along the river. We would stay again. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Great pool and hot tub. Very nice playground. Good cable. Good internet. Nice lounge area inside office building. Nice picnic area. Very nice for an overnight stop. Newer campground, so trees are young. But bathrooms and showers and other facilities are very nice and clean. Nice staff, helpful. We stayed here in a motorhome. Only reason I didn't give them a 10/10 was because I think there should be a military discount. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is adding new "premium" sites along the river with paved patios and gazebos. We stayed in an upgraded site with a nice view of the river. Lots of people fishing in the river. Ample space between sites. Big grassy dog park. Pool wasn't open yet but very nice area. Extremely nice people in office and immaculately clean restrooms and laundry area. General Store area is sparsely stocked but appears to be new as well. Propane tank was in the process of being added. Loved this park and will definitely stay again. Tips for other Campers:

Nice fishing in the river that runs along the park with lots of wildlife. We watched a beaver near the river. Glenwood Springs is a few miles south of the park with both the older Glenwood Springs Hot Springs and the newer Iron Mountain Hot Springs being perfect places to soak in warm, mineral springs.

Passing through spent one night in 45 ft Class A towing. Easy in and out from I 70. Nice layout to park, easy to navigate and easy to pull in to space. We stayed in a pull thought but the back ins looked easy to negotiate as well. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Restrooms and showers are spotless, warm, and roomy. A plus is a local Italian restaurant (Mama Costas Pizza) that delivers to park. The Antipasto salad was to die for and pizza was great too! Arrived within 30 minutes. Will definitely stay here again. This park is only 3 years old and many trees have been planted which will, someday look nice. Right now it is very open. We stayed "on the river" which actually is a small run off from the main river about 50 yards further west. Restrooms were very clean and in nice overall condition. Very strong Wifi signal. I-70 is north of the campground about 200 yds. Roads and sights were gravel, but long and fairly well spaced between sights. We wouldnt pay extra for a river sight again, but overall the park is nice and friendly. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

The location and set-up of the park is wonderful. The park is right on the Colorado River so we were able to walk along the bank and get some lovely pictures. We stayed before the main season so the extra amenities were not yet available. The bathrooms looked to be newly remodeled and very spacious and clean. Site was level and dog run area was one of the largest we have ever seen. Location is right off of I-70 but the noise wasn't too bad and we sleep in a hard-sided camper with pop-out canvas beds. We would definitely stay here again on a trip out west. The area is very pretty. Our site was on the end so we had a little yard which was nice. Also a lot of deer in the area. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Usually, we will avoid any campground affiliated with KOA as they tend to be older, higher priced and often run down, crowded and difficult to maneuver through. What a delightful exception this place was! Outstanding, attentive service, spacious, long pull-throughs, immaculate rest rooms, clean grounds, leash-free dog park, scenic setting, spotless laundry. We would definitely stay here again, and look forward to visiting the owner's other campground nearby. We camped at Silt / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The park has strong water pressure. A regulator is recommended. The laundry was spotless. It is small (4 washers, 4 dryers) and a bit pricey. Be sure to hike across the creek to the island (on the property) to get great river views. Cabin and teepee rentals are also available. The coffee pot is on in the spacious lobby and comfortable seating is spaced throughout the park for relaxing and watching the beautiful views.
