Gravel pad with grass and picnic table for pull through site. Nicely laid out office and guest area. Pool is closed for the year. Name of CG is a bit misleading if you are not familiar with Colorado as Glenwood Springs is about 20 miles east of the location here in Silt. Nice river access, be sure to have water pressure valve as pressure here is about 80 psi. I would stay again on passing through driving I70. You may need a 30' sewer hose if in a MH with a toad. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Very nice KOA. We had a back-in site that backed up to the Colorado river. Our site was nicely landscaped with a large concrete patio that included a covered patio, table and chairs, nice gas grill, a fire pit with two Adirondack chairs. We caught and released some rainbow trout from our site. We also had a Bald Eagle come make a daily appearance across the river. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is one of the best RV parks I stayed at. The lot was level and I didn't even need jacks to level it. The lot was plenty long and with room for my tow either behind or in front of the RV. The overall rating is not a 10 because of the many weeds in the grass area and dead plants. The staff was very good and when needing to find daycare for my dog, there recommendation was excellent. The landscaping is very nice and mostly well maintained. The best part was the location. Right along the Colorado river and 360 degree views of mountains. Made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Saw eagles flying and deer crossing the river to get to the RV park. I will stay here again for sure when back in the area. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you need dog care, I recommend Dog Holliday over in Glenwood Springs. They took very good care of our small Morkie for six hours so we could explore Aspen. The staff was excellent from checkin to checkout. My dog was happy. As for eateries, I can recommend Burning Mountain Pizza and sub in Silt. It also is great for morning bagels and desserts like made daily cannoli's.

This is a real nice RV park located conveniently to I-70, but with little road noise. Check in staff are friendly and helpful and there is a small camp store and very nice lounge in the office area. Sites are spacious, gravel, long, level, both pull-through and back-in. There is no shade at this time but small trees are planted at each site. Many have a patio with table and chairs and a fire ring with grass between sites. Utilities worked well and the WiFi worked most of the time. Bathrooms and showers are modern and clean. There is huge grassy, fenced dog park that is large enough for even a big dog to run and play ball. It is located right on the Colorado river. My only complaints were the tiny laundry rooms that are undersized for a park this large and the robust prickly thistles in the grass next to our RV. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed for four nights. Pull through sites are easy to access and hookups are in a good location. Campground has a nice pool and jacuzzi and is well landscaped considering it is a fairly dry high country area. Grounds are watered. There is a very nice office and gift shop. Customer service is great. On two days of our stay, workers came and took our dog to the large dog park and played with her. Park is quite new with many trees planted but very little shade until the trees grow up. There are also back in sites with patios close to the Colorado River. Roads are well laid out and curving, but easy to navigate. This campground is about 20 miles west of Glenwood Springs with many recreational opportunities. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in this KOA campground for 4 nights while competing in the Colorado Taxidermist competition. The reason I mention this is that when my 6 year old son and I checked in the ladies at the counter were so great. He had done his 1st taxidermy mount for the competition and they made it a point to come out to our truck and look at his project. Made him feel so good! These ladies were fantastic. The park is spacious and very clean. Lots of young trees planted, cant wait to see it in 10 years!! Facilities are clean, pool was great. Wifi was good. Our spot was a premium spot backing up to the CO river. It had covered gazebo/picnic table/full size propane grill, as well as fire pit with Adirondack chairs overlooking the river! We are already planning our next stay here! While here visit old town New Castle 7 miles East. Very nice! Close to I-70 but the highway noise, while present, didn't disturb us. Very easy on/off hwy access. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

New Castle is 7 miles up the road. Quaint old town area. New Castle Diner is a great 50's style diner with soda fountain. Worth a visit. Good fishing in the Co river right behind the campground.

Park is new and recently made larger and improved. Trees have been planted at each site, but will need a couple of years to provide much shade. Staff was helpful and informative about the local area. WiFi is ok most of the time but early evenings it is weak due to large number of users. Tv is excellent. The community room is beautifully furnished and comfortable. The showers are clean and modern. You can see the pride that the work campers take in caring for the property. The swimming pool is inviting but the spa was being worked on while we were there. The property is right next to the Colorado river. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Truck Camper.

Stayed coming and going to Moab from Denver. First night we had a bit of a problem with cable. Work Kamper close by helped us. I called and left office message about it. Next morning the owner called me to apologize. Wow. This park is right on the Colorado river. On our return trip they had opened up an entire new section. We asked to stay at site on river and they made it happen. This is only 2 years old and the new area just add to the specialness of this park. We can't wait to return as a destination next time. Park is expanding and newer areas are almost ready to open up. The folks running the camp are great! Stayed 9 nights to take in Rifle Falls, Glenwood Springs Bike and Pedestrian Pathway, Aspen, and the countryside. The camp is on the Colorado River and has a boat ramp. The dog park is huge! When we were there, the pool was not open yet. I imagine most will find this to be an above average KOA only down-rated for noise from I-70 and the railroad. The noise is not too bad but it is there. Also, would be careful with children around the river. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Misty's Coffee shop in Silt is great and has free wifi. There is a restaurant/bar and grill in downtown that we did not go to. Silt has a large open dog park east on the frontage road with trails and access to the river. Rifle Falls is a couple of miles north of silt and well worth the $7 fee the State Park charges. Take the time to walk, bike some or all of the Glenwood Springs Bike and Pedestrian Pathway that runs under and beside I-70 through Glenwood Canyon. This is a well maintained concrete path that does not disappoint. It is accessible at exit 119 and from all the rest areas off I-70. Aspen is a short drive away.

Just stopped here overnight on way from Moab to Denver - very pretty, well laid out, clean RV park in the valley. Sites were level, and clean and well maintained. See that they are building more RV sites to expand their capacity. No real facilities in Silt, but Rifle only 9 miles down the road has a nice Walmart and some restaurants. This is a well maintained campground with very friendly staff at check in. Interior roads are gravel and big rig access is good. Our back in site was adequate with just enough space for our towed, as this is a relatively new campground the shade trees will need some time to grow. Our site had a lovely patio overlooking the river with a barbecue, fire pit, chairs and a covered picnic table, however not all sites are equal to this, just the ones overlooking the river. As often is the case the layout of the sites does not make the most of the superb river views particularly if you have a motor home. The park should consider having some pull in sites and allowing motor homes to pull into back in sites to maximize the views. The level pad was gravel, with a concrete pathway to the patio, and there was grass between sites. It was fairly quiet, but we did notice the road noise and the train at times. The campground is also adding 27 new sites so there was some noise from this. The bathrooms were spotless, and the clean laundry although small, was well equipped.Vey pet friendly with a dog park, doggie bags and disposal stations around the campground. A lovely pool is just off the clubhouse. Wifi was good. There are a few small local food stores in Silt, but for major shopping and restaurants we liked Glenwood Springs, although traffic is very heavy in that area due to major construction. We would stay here again, it is particularly convenient for an overnight stay while traveling 1-70. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful KOA. The park is located along the Colorado River. The layout of this park is exceptional and takes advantage of its river-side location. There's a trail along the river branch edge, and a foot bridge leads to a small island with another trail. Sites are generally generously sized. Interior roads are large and easily navigated. The office is a beautifully designed building, untypical for an RV park. When I commented on it, I learned from a staff member that the owner is an architect. Even the sparkling-clean restrooms have unexpected touches such as unique light fixtures. There are many amenities such as a large dog park and a swimming pool with a hot tub. The owner's touch is clear throughout the park. I wish they would share more pictures on their website to give prospective campers a preview. We camped on a back-in river front which was spacious and level, which allowed us to enjoy the wonderful view of the island, river, and mountains. We camped at Glenwood Springs West / Colorado River KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Miner's Climb restaurant in Silt has excellent food. It's a gourmet restaurant where you can wear jeans! The margaritas are made with fresh-squeezed limes. If local peaches are in season and for sale in the office, buy some...delicious.
