Old park, mostly full time,no level spaces, overpriced. Not many rv places in Trinidad so prices are high. At least the 1 shower is clean. Also, can get ice from the neighboring motel. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

Made a last minute reservation as we were traveling late and needed to stop for the night. Overall, the park looks unkempt and not well taken care of. It's located behind (and managed in connection with) a tired looking former Travel Lodge (I think) that's now gone the way of the non chain hotel. Some of the units in the RV park look like permanent guests. I would have been a little happier had the rate not been $50/night. On the plus side (1) water pressure was fine (2) sewer lines at each spot (3) cable and electric are both OK. I'm not saying don't stay here - just don't expect a lot. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Looked like mostly mostly long term locals. The unit next to us was not maintained very well. Grass was overgrown around some junk. Some guy in the lobby asked if we would like to buy some marijuana. Said we could get it across the street. I know it is legal there but it was strange for a person just to come up and bring that up. This was the highest priced park we stayed at during our trip. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

Drive through gravel sites. Restrooms are in the motel and are separated from sites by a strip of land with bear and deer tracks. The park in general had bad roads and was strewn with litter. Seasonal sites looked more like dump sites than camp sites. The next morning we found that most campers had parked in Walmart lot. Much better facilities than the RV park. Not worth more than $10 a night. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

The most we've ever paid for the least value. A scrubby site filled with weeds, non functioning sewer, next to a wire fence around a permanent mobile home inside which 5 yappie dogs objected to your every move. Don't connect to the short water tap, only the tall one hidden in a bush works. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here as there is not a whole lot of choices up this side of the interstate travels. It had the best reviews. As others have said, it is at the back of a motel. Hilly, and unlevel. We did not take advantage of the breakfast. Our site was not level, and had it been rainy we could not have stayed as it would have been a mud fest. Let's say it is ok in a pinch, but staying at Walmart may have been a better idea. They are not trying at all to make it a decent place for large rigs. But, it is a port in a storm. Did not use shower or breakfast. Overpriced at $37 at Good Sam rate. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Located on a hill behind a motel. Continental breakfast (waffles, etc.= very good) is included in price, so that was a plus. NO atmosphere to speak of, although the lobby had a fantastic view. Bathroom use is limited to what was once a motel room. Your shower/toilet facility is private and lockable and towels, shampoo were provided. However, if someone else is using it, you're out of luck! We thought it was pricey for what was provided. Wi-Fi connectivity was good. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Overpriced for RV lot behind motel. But it is a good one night stop location. Wi-Fi was available in the motel lobby and breakfast was provided. Not a bad breakfast and they have a waffle maker. Permanent resident on site to assist setup if you need it. Excellent Mexican restaurant 500 ft. away. Site is well lit, but area is somewhat distressed and it was only us and two permanents on site for the night. Walmart and fuel is handy within 1/2 mile. Motel has 2 washers and dryers. Would stay again or try out RV park at I25 New Mexico/Colorado border. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Not acceptable even as an overnight, we did not feel safe. Many transient type people coming and going at all hours of the night. Sites are overgrown and broken pavement is evident. Entrance is very steep, do not use the first entrance for coming or going. The only nice part was the friendly staff and the town is quite cute and historic. There was another CG behind another hotel off the same exit down the road (to the right rather then the left at the gas station) which we will try the next time. We will NOT stay here again We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stopped here for an overnighter (on I-25) and found it very acceptable. The sites are behind the motel and we were offered a continental breakfast in the morning. Nice. Everything was exceedingly convenient and easy to access. A wonderful Mexican restaurant to walk to, fill-up with gas right on the corner, and 5 minutes from the historic town of Trinidad. Yes, the sites were not level but we had lots of elbow room and a grassy lawn. We would stay here again for an overnighter but probably not for a longer term. I think these kinds of parks are great for they fill a niche for a fair price for RVers who just need a safe place to be for the night. We camped at Summit RV Park in a Motorhome.
