Stopped here overnight while traveling through Colorado. Very reasonably priced. It doesn't look like much from the road, but looks are deceiving. Shady pull-through sites with full utilities. Gravel and grassy, but ours was level and the others looked similar. Bathhouse is rustic, but clean. Nice little lounge area with free coffee/tea/cocoa. Also, has small supply of sundries and soda. Most of the other campers here have ATVs, so I'm guessing there's some riding trails close by. I'd stay here again if passing through. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp is about 2 miles down driveway and worth the drive down the bumpy gravel, past the wrecking yard. This is a small rustic camp with full services, excellent wifi, nice big sites and a lovely serene atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. Bathrooms are rustic but useable, after check in you are pretty much left to your own and get to enjoy the views and peace that surrounds this camp. Would stay here again. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

A true hidden gem. Passed by on the highway many times, saw the neighboring junkyard, and just kept going. It is NOT the junkyard; you can't see this place from the highway -- and you can't hear the highway from here. Rate is very reasonable. Lots of small/medium trees. Very nice "social room" with wood stove, free coffee, table, chairs & couch, etc. Amenities for hunters, such as a covered place to hang your freshly-killed game, and what looks like a walk-in cooler for storage. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here 11 nights and were very pleased. Our only complaint was the Wi-Fi kept disconnecting. But we always managed to get back on the Internet. Very pleasant campground. Was quiet and clean and the owners/operators were very helpful in all aspects. We would highly recommend this campground and will use it in the future. Quiet, peaceful, spacious and nice owners. No amenities to attract folks with kids thus the peace and quiet. Great views east and west. We will return. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

At the northern end of the San Luis Valley, the views of the Sangre de Christo mountains are amazing. This campground has been here, with the same owners for 29 years, the sites are ample and trees screen between. The road in and the campground roads are all well maintained gravel. The bathhouse/lounge/laundry are older and charming and spotless. The people here are very nice and helpful. This is not a resort, nor is it fancy. My idea of heaven. They often have off road events and serve hunters in the fall. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I love this little campground. We've stopped here a number of times the past 10 years. It's simple and very peaceful. If you're into mountain biking, there is a nice old road that peters out into a trail from the campground road heading up into the hills to the west. I highly recommend this place for those who like quiet camping and don't need a lot of frills. We camped at San Luis Valley Campground in a Tent Trailer.
