The roads are winding and they're not clearly marked, so it is difficult finding out where to go.

We were woken by police officers shaking our tent at 4 AM, as was everyone else at the campground. It was horrifying.

It is always very full, and there are tons of loud children and infants. We camped at Standley Lake Regional Park in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a pretty sunset. The park, roads, and bathrooms are kept up well. I recommend relaxing down by the lake, away from the hustle and bustle of RVs, children, dogs, etc.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $13.00
Overall Rating:

We are full timers and spent late May through August in this park. This is the only park I know of in Denver area that is NO reservations - which is great. You can almost always get in during week days, and often on weekends, just by showing up around the noon check out time. First come, first serve. The 2 catches are that you must be out one day after 14 days, and you can't occupy the park on holiday weekends - 4th of July, Memorial Day, etc. They are reserved for boaters with passes. You can buy an annual $16 senior pass, which eliminates the $7 a day entrance fee. We paid $12 a day, plus the one time $16. Wonderful, spacious sites by the lake, and some not so spacious further back. We camped at Standley Lake Regional Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Prospect RV park is a good place to reserve for nights out of Standley.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here about 4 years ago, and the quality has stayed about the same, the sites are spacious, and its a good value for the $$. The fishing is ok and they have one dock near the boat ramp you can also fish from. The rangers are very helpful in seeing you are sucessful in catching something. I wish they had at least a dump station on site. We camped at Standley Lake Regional Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I like the smaller loop by the dam with sites 1-18. This loop seems quieter, and its more convienet to the boat dock. These sites are back-in, so if you want a pull through,go to the larger area.

Overall Rating:

This campground is a nice place to stay for a weekend getaway. The sites are primitive with no hookups. Some sites have great views of the lake and some do not. Some are long curved pull throughs with sites at either end, which would be good for two units to share, but if one RV is already there, it would not be a pull through. We stayed here for a weekend and enjoyed the hiking trails and some good fishing. Stores and fast food are about a mile away if needed. Price for sites are really $12.00/day + $7.00 daily entry fee, so if you stay onsite, you can save some $$. We camped at Standley Lake Regional Park in a Motorhome.
