We came up for the weekend for a shakedown run of the trailer. As everyone else states, this is a nice park with lots of trees. The roads are dirt which was no issue, but it poured cats and dogs one night. To the credit of the staff, they were out early the next day fixing the ruts caused by the runoff. Our site and most of the sites I saw are roomy enough to open all four slides and put out the awning and still have a little wiggle room. But some of the sites looked like it would take a little finesse to back the trailer in. Several seasonal people and they welcomed us right in when we played card bingo. The Wi-fi worked great. The one suggestion I have is that they should have someone guide you to your site as it is a little confusing. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a week and it is a beautiful park, but the sites are extremely close together. We had enough room for our picnic table and some chairs but had to stare at our neighbors sewer line. We could touch their RV when sitting at the picnic table. The front part of the park is more shaded but also appears to have a lot of permanent residence. They also have a lot of people that stay here for the "season" (May through September). Everyone was extremely nice. After being here for a week it appears that all the parks in this area have very close sites. The WiFi was spotty, during peak times you couldn't use it at all. All in all I would stay at this park again but I would try to get a site at the front of the park instead of the back area. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Being the 4th of July weekend, reservations were a must--they were turning folks away when we arrived to check-in. The lady at the desk has been here for over 30 years and was organized, very friendly. The sites are well treed and mostly in a natural state and is similar to staying in a nearby national forest except your neighbors are very close to you. Water pressure and electricity are excellent even though the campground seems unchanged from when we were here about 15 years ago. This is a family friendly campground with a playground and well maintained. Even though it is at capacity, the folks are quiet. Many from out of state spend the entire summer here. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Good choice of local restaurants and shopping. Convenient to Cripple Creek & Pike's Peak. At 8,500' it stays cool in the summer. One of the highlights is the Symphony Above the Clouds held at the middle school athletic grounds each year. It is an evening of varied musical entertainment culminating with the 1812 Overture complete with fireworks and an artillery battery from Ft Carson. Bring your own chairs, blankets... Free, but donations are accepted.

Hard to add much more after reading the other reviews. Nice folks running the place. It's a clean park with lots of trees, so it is a very nice environment. But it was hard to get a clear satellite signal. They were full, and everyone was packed in pretty tight. Many spaces were very tight. They had a great dog run area and we had deer running through our campsite every day. There are a lot of full time, and summer campers there and they were all nice. We will make it a point to go back. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Our site was located on the last row, but was easily accessible. The sites are not spacious, but have plenty of room for walking around with slides and awning out. Each site has a picnic table, and the hookups are nicely located. The park does have several seasonal full timers but are welcoming and a lot of fun, interesting people. Woodland Park is a really beautiful town. A Farmers market is open to the public each Friday through the summer and had vendors of all types. We will definitely stay here again. The park setting is lovely, treed and natural, but within the city limits, so it is close to everything.
There is a nice rec hall for activities in case of rain. Staff are friendly and helpful. The park is kept clean and neat. We have stayed here before in a motorhome and enjoyed the park. We will come back in the future. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

The staff here is second to none! I've never seen a more organized office and informed staff. This is by far the best place to stay in a 75 mile radius in terms of non-state parks. The owners have done a fabulous job keeping the grounds as close to natural as possible. There are a lot of return campers who get their first pick on return site visit, but it works out well. They also have tent camping. The playground equipment is "old school" and in terrific condition. There is a fire ring and picnic tables at all RV spots. You will have to level, so be prepared. All hookups were in excellent shape. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

There's an organic store across the street to pick up quite a few items. Cafe Leo is a good place to pick up coffee. AJ's Pizza and the sushi restaurant are both good. We found above average restaurants hard to find though.

This is a fairly basic park but the price is basic too; you get what you pay for. The roads and parking pads are dirt. The front desk lady was very friendly and accommodating. We had reserved for 2 nights but thought we might stay longer, so she put us in a site where we wouldn't have to move if we extended our stay.

There are quite a few trees in this campground so our Dish satellite didn't work, but the park wifi worked very well and it was no problem doing without TV for a couple of nights.

We would stay here again if we came through Woodland Park. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very large campground right in Woodland Park. It's convenient to everything. The park is heavily treed and has roads and sites of decomposed granite (pretty well maintained though). The staff are very helpful and courteous. Most of the sites are taken by folks spending the whole summer here, so the campground has a real "community" feel. Very nice people all around. If you want a reservation during peak summer months, make it early. We had a hard time getting a spot for our rig even with two weeks' notice, because they were either already booked or couldn't take a big rig. We would definitely stay here again. This is a rustic, woodsy campground. Dirt roads and sites set in pine trees, so most have some shade; most sites fairly spacious, laid out to give privacy. Some sites need blocks/boards to level. Nice children's play area with swings, etc. Friendly, helpful staff, regularly maintaining roads & buildings, etc.

Good utilities. Internet speeds generally good, they have perhaps 7-10 hotspots. Good laundry facilities, 4 washing machines, reasonably priced. Close to town. Many seasonal rentals with people coming here for many years, well-maintained and decorated. Picnic tables and fire rings at sites. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent campground on the edge of town. Camped here with a group.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Our group had the use of the rec hall which
was very helpful for meetings and meals. Lots of trees and a nice playground. We will return again next year. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

The campground has lots of trees. It was tough to get level and have room for slideout. The park is close to town. The showers looked decent because they were individual rooms. However, we did not use them because they were not heated. Wi-Fi was poor. We would stay here again. We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here at Passport rates for 5 nights and 7 nights at weekly rate. This is the third year that we have stopped here. The climate is great, good shade, good hookups. The staff was friendly and helpful. I played games at the club house with other guests [seasonals] that welcomed me to join in. It rained a few days while we were there. The maintenance men on tractors and box blades regraded the drives very nicely. The whole place was well kept. The bathrooms were always clean. The Wi-Fi was the best I have ever experienced in a RV park. We will return here if in the area again We camped at Diamond Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.
