My wife and I stayed for a few nights while visiting family and friends nearby. We did not use the park facilities other than park our camping trailer. Do not rely on the people at the office to assign a proper parking site for you. All sites are grass, no paving, no pad. Not many are level. Do not let the staff assign you to the "overflow" area. If tell them your rig is over 26' they will send you to overflow.... That area is beside the entry road at the entrance to the park, where cars drive by at all times. The site I was on would easily accept the total length of my rig, at 47'. We camped at Kettletown State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Rural area. Half hour trip to food and fuel.

Note: Roads leading to park are narrow and twisty - you are not lost! just keep following directions, you will get there. I lean towards saying this is not for larger campers - our 21 foot travel trailer was fine, but much larger would be a bit tight due to roads and maneuvering in the campground. Very nice state park. Sites are large and have a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is sold at camp office. Bathrooms are "state park clean", looked like they were cleaned each morning on the weekend. Attached to bath houses are dish cleaning stations. Water spigots are scattered around the camping area - you can fill your camper if needed, but you can't stay hooked up. Cell phone reception is iffy, it is a hilly and heavily wooded area. Lake is very busy with boats, you can fish from many places (might need fishing license), and there is a designated swim area. Employees are nice and helpful. No alcohol park. Quiet at night. We will certainly return here. We camped at Kettletown State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A great small state park to camp at. First time dry camping in our HTT and it was great. Our only problem was our original site - it was site #1 and it was very steep. Could only open one tent end because I couldn't get level. Had to prop the camper up against the car so that it wouldn't slide. However, talked to the ranger and the next morning we switched sites across the street. Mostly tent camping. Sites in the 60's appeared great. Walk to the lake is pretty long, but beautiful. Small beach, clear water. Park offered free movies for the kids both nights and an ice cream truck also came in. Quiet time is 10:00 p.m. and at 10, it got quiet. Bathrooms looked good for a state park. Had a great time - close to home, relaxing, fun. Would definitely return. We camped at Kettletown State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very pretty campground. Large shaded sites. Most are level. No dogs allowed. Large lake to launch boats. Bathrooms are large and clean. We would stay here again. We camped at Kettletown State Park in a Tent Trailer.
