The rating here might vary depending on the site you get. The ones "out back" are able to get satellite coverage, they're 50 amp, and quiet. The sites closer to the front entrance are noisy (road noise), mostly 30 amp, and are pretty much shaded. It's not a bad campground. It just depends on which site you get. If you haven't been here before, ask for a site in 'the back'. Make a reservation to get one of those sites. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Clean park. Grassy sites. Unpaved roadways. We arrived after dark, the narrow driveway entrance looked forbidding. We made it in without incident. They had left a park map for us showing our assigned site as well as pull-throughs that we could use for the night. Their sign at the entrance is easy to miss even during the day. Our site was wide enough to park on a diagonal to the road as we could not fit when perpendicular to the road. Tree branches at the rear of the site hung down on the coach. We could receive no TV from our site. The park was heavily used by seasonals who use the park as their summer home. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

The hostess was pleasant and helpful. Story goes she inherited the property from relatives. Been in the family a long time. Our site backed up to the stream. Very pretty. What was obvious is this campground has seen better days. It's been a long time since any improvements have been made. There doesn't seem to be any "pride in ownership". I was elated to find such a nice, quiet campground with all of the amenities so close to my home town, Bristol. While speaking with the upbeat, and very friendly owners prior to check-in, I felt warmly welcomed and confident that our stay here would be a pleasurable one. It was nice that the campground owners really treat their guests like family anticipating your every need and answering all of my questions. The owner even helped me park the camper since I have some trouble with that sort of thing. Backing it up is not my strong suit. After finding the perfect site for my family's needs, we enjoyed one of the nicest camping experiences ever. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The colorful flowers by the office and all around the pool area were full and vibrant and a such a lovely touch. There is even a quaint little sitting area by the office where we checked our email. The camp grounds were well maintained, and the bathrooms very clean and smelled fresh. I would highly recommend this campground as a terrific place to come relax and enjoy the outdoors. My family and I are looking forward to the next time we can visit this fun vacation spot as we have deemed it one of our new favorite places to stay. Kudos to the campground owners for taking such good care of us. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Rate reflects the monthly rate. We stayed here while visiting our son who lives nearby. Most sites have lots of shade, so if you want to use your satellite make sure you let them know. Very quiet at night and the pool was always clean, as were the laundry facilities. The owners were very nice and helpful. We will stay here again while visiting our son. First time here. Very satisfied with facilities. As for the "grump", I think the owner runs a tight ship. I've got no problem with that. It was quiet and great for our family. All utilities worked well. Bathrooms were clean. Sites were large, some shaded and some in sun. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Tent Trailer.Undo

Our site was level and somewhat shady. There was poison ivy right at the edge: "3 leaves, let it be." Sure they have Wi-Fi, but you have to walk up to the office to use it. They claim they offer Cable TV. Our site had no coax hookup. You have to make sure your does, if you want it. The main thing about this park is the woman who runs it. When I mentioned Branch Brook to my friends in central CT, they all knew of the woman. She has the well-deserved reputation as a grump. She hollered at us. She was demeaning to a guest who drove in to visit. The facilities are okay. We won't go back, mainly because of the grinch at the front gate. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Considering the limited possibilities in around this part of CT, this is a good campground. It is clean and well kept. The owners are friendly and do what they can to accommodate you. We stayed in the "satellite reception" area. I wasn't using satellite, but I had enough of trees. So this spot was nice. Many site are covered with trees. The sites are sand/gravel/grass. Since I stayed in the satellite area I did not have cable. We will go back. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Not all sites have Cable TV. Sites are level in grass. Roads are gravel. Entrance and exits from the park are narrow. Easy to miss the entrance when driving down the road. Our site had all the hookups in the rear of the site, so it was important to park correctly for the sewer hose to reach. Park borders a state park. There is a brook that runs besides the park and the park is connected to a trail that follows the brook. I would stay here again, if I were in the area. Cash only. We needed a campground close to some towns just over the Connecticut line in New York State. Checked into some others in the area and they were more expensive, plus in late October a lot of places were closed. This campground is open till Nov. 1st. Bathrooms were next to the office and needed updating but were clean. Cable is available, but you need to hook up a box to the back of your TV which they provide, we opted not to do this. A fair amount of seasonal sights. Campers were all friendly and gave a big wave back when we went for a walk. Coming into the campground felt awkward on a single lane narrow driveway that was oneway. They have a second driveway to use as an exit. The owner was very friendly at check-in. I'd say this is a good campground for a few nights. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Cash or check only and $3 PER A/C unit. There are very few campgrounds in this part of Connecticut so you take what you can get and pay the high price. For us this is just a place to park while visiting family. Entrance/exit are very narrow and steep. You are warned to stop at the double stop signs every time when entering so that the owner check your car pass from her window. The seasonal sites are clean, a few could use a good washing. The playground has been updated from rusty to clean swings, seesaw, small wooden playhouse, plastic slide, etc., but it’s right by the busy curve of the road where everybody drives by to enter/exit. Pool was clean and a few chairs were provided. There are about 9 big rig back-in sites in the open area by the pool. They are not very level and your back end will be quite a bit higher than the front. The ground is covered with black cinders with some grass/weeds growing between sites and enough room to open your awnings. Stable electric and good water pressure. Wi-Fi and cable are not available in the big rig area. Never used the bathrooms/laundry. One evening there was a big, quick storm with high winds and rain. A large 6†diameter tree branch (from a tree on the property next door) fell on our roof. The park was a total mess of fallen branches and leaves. We ended up damage to the A/C and a gash in our roof that the owner helped us get patched. It took most of the next day of diligent clean up by the owners to get the grounds back in shape. We will come back here again since there really isn’t any other choice in the area. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Since we arrived on a weekday in off-season, the office told us we could choose any of the first 28 sites.  We chose #4, which was fairly level, had a nice wooden deck, and a strong wifi signal.  The signal dropped as distance from the office increased. It was apparent that the campground caters to primarily seasonal sites, since many sites, even if empty, had homemade decks, planters, chairs and other stuff, but nothing junky.  Sites  were average size.  They converted the tent camping area into sites for campers needing open sky for satellite.  The pool wasn't open, but the small playground looked okay.  The showers we're awful.  The mats were grungy, the metal on the fixtures was rusty, floor tiles were missing, the toilet stanchion was corroded to the point it had lost attachment to the floor, and there was no soap for hand washing.  We were only there for one night, and the price was steep for the amenities provided and the overall state of disrepair.  There aren't a lot of other options on the area, but next time we are passing through we will look elsewhere We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Keep the speed down!! These folks are right on it and rightfully so for safety. As far as everything else, I am amazed that people can get as much as they do for camping here. It wasn't that great. It says cable but were we were there was no cable, sites we not very level and roadways could have been better kept, the staff was helpful. we will check around before camping there again. Very nice park. Camped here while visiting family nearby. Some seasonal and semi-permanent sites, but overall well maintained. Asked for and got a open site to use my satellites. Stayed in site 66. Mostly level, no problem with well placed FHU utilities. Stayed over 4th of July weekend and was pleased by how quiet it was. I think the owners run a tight ship. Asked to check out a little (2 hrs.) late and was told no problem. We camped at Branch Brook Campground in a Motorhome.Undo
