Still the lowest priced full hookup big rig beach RV park in the entire area by far. North Campground is dog beach friendly. T-Mobile service good. Every site is big rig friendly, full hookups 50amp, and level. Checkout is noon, check-in is 1PM. No campfires allowed. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

We met up with a group of 8-10 other families. It was convenient because sites are reserved online in advance and you have the ability to know where everyone will be camped. We had a great time despite some rainy weather. Drainage wasn't an issue given the fact the northside campground was recently rebuilt. The new bath/shower facilities are nice, but they obviously have loads of sand on the floors. The only downer is the lack of a pool but it's close to the beach (200 yards) so the kids didn't seem to mind. No fire ring due to the high winds being so close to the beach. The online maps say that Hammerheads Dockside is .4 mile walk, but it didn't seem nearly that far. That distance may be from the registration booth. We went there and had a great time...nothing special with just bar food and drinks. Lots of boats to sight see with at the marina and you can walk the docks to look at the boats. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

I was expecting more of a parking lot feel with no character after reading other reviews and while it is open and not very private, it was a lot nicer than I expected. We stayed in the North campground. 50 amp FHU back in. Nice level asphalt sites, strong power and a decent amount of space for sitting out. Cell was good with ATT @ 17 d/l and Verizion @ 9 d/l unboosted. T mobile was too slow to be usable but I didn't bother trying a booster. There was plenty of OTA channels. The bathrooms are new and clean with large showers. There is a clean laundry on site with a couple of double sized washers and dryers which is a nice perk for a state park. There are really nice paved walking paths which you can take directly to a dog friendly beach. There's a ton to do in area. Cape Henlopen State Park has a lot of hiking and biking and there are multiple beach towns close by. Rehoboth is cool but so is Beverly Beach. There are boardwalks and tons of fun shops and restaurants. It's a great location because 15 min south is Beverly Beach and 15 minutes north is Rehoboth. Beware of the onsite hiking trail (Burton Nature Trail). We attempted this the last week of May and were literally swarmed by thousands of mosquitoes and had to turn back. I never bailed on a hike that fast before. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground if you are looking to go to the beach. No other amenities to speak of. If you get a heavy rain many camp sites on the south side will flood. No shade at all. They do have large community fire rings but not allowed to have a fire at your site. I had site 299 a pull through on the end. It was nice to have extra space on the Off Door Side, but due to the layout my actual site was shorter than others along my row. If you are 40ft or longer you may not want to pick this particular site number. Great water pressure. Many spots on the North Side appear to have a better view of the water way and I don't believe they have the flooding issues that we had. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

There are two sections to this park, pull-through and back-in. We swung by the pull-through section first, and found it quite bleak, just one big parking lot made into a grid with small pull-thru sites. Looked more like a drive-in movie. We moved on to the back-in section and found that marginally more campground-like. Access was easy, roads and sites are level. The place was very clean. If you're a beach lover, this puts you right there. We found it too open for our tastes. There was no one to check us in, and the self-registration process required cash - they don't take checks or credit cards. We scraped together all our cash including spare change and fortunately had just enough. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here over the Easter Weekend (3 nights). It was off season, so the park was not crowded at all. We loved the proximity to the beach and we loved walking over the bridge. It's very close to local attractions in Bethany and Rehoboth Beaches. I gave the service fewer stars only because, no attendants or camp hosts were on duty. We had a pull through site and full hookups (which is uncommon in a lot of state parks). Overall, this was a very peaceful and memorable trip. We will definitely be back. Tips for other Campers:

There are tons of nice restaurants in the area. And breweries, breweries breweries!!! Did I mention the breweries? Shout out to The Bethany Diner in B. Beach for breakfast. Wonderful crew, great food. There is also a great music scene in R. Beach (very limited parking though).

The main attraction to this park is that it is just a short walk to the beach and has full hook-ups. However, it is pretty much a big parking lot with very few trees and a lot of wind. There are two sections - one north of the bridge and one south of the bridge. The southern section, where we were, has more sites and is closer to the beach pavilion which has a restaurant and bar. The northern section appears to be somewhat newer and may have a tiny bit more space between the campsites. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Clean 50 amp full hookup level asphalt paved big rig sites. Easy refundable online reservations. Walking distance to beach. North camp has dog friendly beach year round. Hopefully the nosy North Campground 2017 summer camp hosts in big 5th Wheel will not return this summer, otherwise the rating for this park will drop. Stayed 5 nights to attend Jazz Festival. Great location with scenic views and easy drive to many local restaurants. Rained quite a bit while we were there, and there was standing water on many sites and interior roads. Ours was ok. Park office is in north campground, and there is a marina there too. Restaurant and lodge across rt 1, a busy highway. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Abundance of seafood restaurants in the area, as well as shops and sightseeing/activities. Head south to Bethany for dining, north to Rehoboth for shopping. Dover Downs race track/casino about an hour north. Traffic can be heavy, so allow extra time.

Very close to ocean, not many amenities . Park needs to be updated. About 25% of sites on the south side were flooded out due to an evening storm. Peoples mats and coolers floating. The whole south side camping needs to be evaluated for drainage problems. Also the need to enforce the dog issues some sites had 4 dogs or more, when you walked passed sounded like a dog pound.

There was a lot of inconsiderate campers parking their cars along camp drives making it tough for people towing to get into their sites. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

Lowest priced 50 amp full hookup big rig campground by the beach! Camphosts are not the best, they are nosy, and keep an annoying & ugly portable lamp post by their 5th wheel on all night! Camphosts should be advised to never confront campers, they simply do not have great customer service. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice campground if you want to camp close to the beach and still have 50 amp full hookups. Stayed in North campground which borders the Indian River Inlet and Coast Guard station. The beach is just a short walk from the sites and most sites have a beautiful view of the waterway. The campground has wide asphalt roads and pads with grass/gravel/sand around and a picnic table. Pads are level, just long enough for my 45 ft MH and easy to back in to and exit. I parked my tow on the grass. There are no trees, WiFi or cable. In the campground is a playground. Along the inlet waterway is a walking path and easy fishing access. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

Sites are level and utilities were placed good. We stayed in the south section (cross over the bridge and the entrance is on the right). Interior roads were easy to navigate and were asphalt. I had to park our toad beside our motorhome. Anything longer than 40 feet would have difficulty fitting on a site. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.

We live in South Jersey, so it was an easy ride down the parkway to the ferry to this State Park. I recommend the north side, as I feel they are a little roomier. The trade off is no camp stores and a little more effort to get to the restaurant and lifeguarded south beach. I would recommend going to Hammerheads at the marina instead of the newer, more popular Chill Grill anyhow. Park staff very helpful, friendly. Nice hosts. This is a good example of what a State Park should be, clean, quiet and well run. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kind of confusing finding the way in from the south to the South Inlet where we stayed. A storm came thru while we were out and we had water an inch or two deep by the steps. Some sites were worse than that. We were on the end of the row so parked the tow in the sand next to the motor home. The 50A breaker was bad so I went to the booth where you register. The lady working called while I was waiting and maintenance was there quickly to replace the breaker. Sites are level but close together, no grass to speak of. The view of the bridge at night was great. Easy ride to Bethany Beach and Ocean City. We camped at Delaware Seashore State Park in a Motorhome.
