6 Parks near Bonifay, Florida
Feb 2017 - $32.00
Very pretty with lots of trees around a pond. Sites were mainly gravel and sand so not completely level. Easy to find off I-10. - WNC Traveler
Dec 2016 - $32.00
Sites are not level and there are a lot of trees - on the side of a hill. Have stayed here a few times because of the Mustang Grill and I always say that the park needs TLC! Wifi okay as we were right next to the office. Over air TV good. - Retired FL CSM
Jul 2016 - $37.00
This was a very nice RV park. It was well cared for, the sites were shady, hookups were reliable, and cable had many cable channels. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel like they really appreciated our being there, and that they wanted our stay to be as pleasant as they could make it.
The restaurant was an added plus. Our dinner was delicious and priced very reasonably. This RV Park is one that we will visit again and again as we pass through this area. - Ed Headington
Nov 2016 - $14.00
Rainy day so we didn't walk to the falls. This is a very nice State park. Our only problem was our site which was a pull thru that was wrapped around some trees. The hump in the middle wouldn't let us use our levelers so we had to drive around and set up with electric and water on the wrong side. This was just an overnight stop and we would come back again. - Hey You
Jul 2016 - $12.00
Most sites looked level, ours was narrow and uneven. Nice boardwalk to the falls & swimming area, good trails. The roads were paved and gravel sites, a lot of trees so no satellite, ATT worked well. Not far off of I-10. - SGF
Apr 2016 - $9.00
Very nice small clean campground and park, but a lot to see. Level sandy, shady sites. Showers/restrooms clean. Some construction going on, but still enough hiking trails to satisfy. Asphalt roads to bike on. Hilly. Interesting sink holes and some local history. Good signage. It rained hard one day, but campsites drained well. Great staff. - GDoug
Jun 2012 - $25.00
Pulled off the highway looking for an overnight stay. Found this park way out in the country. Beautiful setting with super friendly staff. Great diving area available along with swimming and recreation. Great, off the beat spot for family vacationing at a reasonable price. A,lot of people staying there, but surprisingly quite at night. If I ever traveled through this area again, I would not hesitate to stop. - Jeff MacDonald
Jun 2007 - $18.00
Very primitive, much sand, roads were in disrepair, sites poorly marked. It took us 50 minutes just to get checked in, staff was new and not very professional. This is an excellent Dive site, great swimming area, kind of small. We left a day earlier than we were supposed to. Hopefully they will bring this park up to standards soon. - jericbarg
Jun 2006 - $27.00
Yuk. Sites were awful. Electric boxes falling apart. Only saving grace was the swimming area. A cool spring. I would recommend staying somewhere else and day visiting because this campground is terrible. - skycop
Jul 2016 - $25.00
This is one of the best RV parks we have stayed at!! The owners were very sweet, they treated us pretty much like family. They invited us into their home and we talked for hours. They would take my 2 year old daughter riding on their golf carts (of course I rode also).
The park was very clean, and quiet!! Laundry room was clean. My husband loved the lake/fishing!! Will definitely be back if we are near Geneva, Alabama again!!
They looked after me and my daughter while my husband worked during the day. When it would start storming they would check to make sure we were okay and asked if we needed anything!! Wifi worked great.
The owners kept the park very clean, he was always outside doing yard work!!! She kept the flower beds really pretty, hope we can visit with them soon!!! - Shelby Shoemake
Jan 2016 - $35.00
This place was not clean and very noisy. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and this place was anything but. Owners were rude and unfriendly. - Ron and Amy
Jan 2011 - $18.00
The owners have done an excellent job of cleaning up after the previous owners. Both are the kindest, most helpful and gracious owners we have encountered. Everyone is very friendly. The grounds are landscaped nicely and well kept. There are a number of long timers who are also helpful. They have added a club house for get together. Two docks available for fishing. Landing is available with a recommended $2 launching fee. The lake only allows electric motors - no gasoline. The campgrounds are literally out in the country closer to Geneva, AL than Defuniak Springs, FL. - MOexpat
Feb 2017 - $40.00
This is a nice park, conveniently located on the south side of I-10, making it a quick and easy off and on. When we arrived yesterday, the two owners came out to greet us and we had a nice chat while winding down from our long day's drive, after which they guided us into a spacious and nearly level back-in site, made somewhat private by trees and vegetation on three sides. Then they provided us with an astro-turf door mat, a wheelbarrow full of firewood to burn in the pit at the rear of our site, and a half-dozen freshly laid eggs for our breakfast in the morning.
We're glad we chose to unhook our toad and take a back-in because those sites are quite a bit further from the interstate than the pull-thru sties. As I write this, I can see traffic on the interstate flying by about a quarter of a mile away, but with the windows of our coach closed, I hear very little noise. And I can tell you that neither my wife nor I had trouble sleeping last night.
Also on the plus side, our dog has enjoyed several opportunities to run around off-leash at the dog park since we arrived. Note that there are two dog runs; one for little dogs and one for larger breeds. It should also be noted that this park, which is very much a work-in-progress, does not yet have toilet or shower facilities. This is not a problem for us as we're traveling in a 40-foot coach, but I can certainly understand how some might see this as a deal-breaker, especially given the $40 per night site fees. Be that as it may, my wife and I had a pleasant, restful stay at the Hitchin Post Corral and are happy to recommend the park and its very accommodating management to our fellow travelers.
PS - The Love's Travel Center situated at the same exit as the park will allow for a convenient re-fuel before getting back on the road tomorrow. - TW Flash
Jan 2017 - $28.00
This is a small but great campground, clean easy to maneuver, decent wi-fi, satellite friendly. If I had time I'd of stayed and fished. - Shovelhead1970
Jan 2017 - $40.00
I read all the prior reviews and was looking forward to the stop over. The couple that owns/runs the park gets a "5" for helpfulness and involvement. It is a new park so this is still a park in progress. The utilities are first rate. The pull thru spaces are long and the exit angle is very good. The park is close to I10 - but the entrance is tricky for a 45 ft motorhome with tow. All the interior roads are fine grain sand - the pads have some grass/gravel mixed in. It had rained the day before and I was concerned about making the sharp turns to get to our area. If there was serious rain in the area I would be concerned. There were some bothersome ruts and the interior roads are very bumpy - the spaces not level and need some work. The downside of the pull thru spaces are you are VERY close to the Interstate - like in the 100 yard range. There is no vegetation buffer so you are listening to the traffic and trucks all night - even in a MH the noise was loud. I have never commented about the price of a park but $40 seems very high to me for what you get. I would love to rate this park higher - if just for the great owners but the facilities are just not developed yet. - Zoey and Reba
May 2016 - $35.00
Very unclean park and unruly patrons. Mold and mildew in clubhouse restrooms. Cabins are handicap FEMA trailers full of roaches and bugs. Mattresses are urine soaked and create an odor and mildew throughout. Most of the outer buildings are not cared for and roofs leak, torn flooring should all be tore down before the all down. Owners do not live on site and when addressed very rude and do not care basically just want your money. - Eugina
Mar 2016 - $18.00
Clean and well maintained. However, they lost our reservation and luckily had one available. They only take cash or check for Passport America. It is a good place to stay if you want to see Panama City and the beaches. We had a pull through with full hookup. Verizon worked well here. Good place to stop for one night. - rolling homeless
Mar 2016 - $35.00
OK park, middle of nowhere, but on the way to the beach and easy to find. Small sites, tight for big rigs. - highcamper
