Easy access from I-75, gated, clean, landscaped, friendly staff, hookups convenient, some trees and flowers, paved roads gravel sites. Mid April park was almost empty, snow birds had flown home so maneuvering in park was easy. If park was full would be tight. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed two separate nights in this campground, coming and going to the Fl Keys. Access to I-75 is super easy. Arrival and checkin were quick and pleasant. Overall the camp is very quiet and appears well maintained. Paved drives lead to gravel sites with grassy areas between. Picnic table (polymer) on the concrete pad was new. Mix of sun and shade sites. We had a long (100'+) level flat pull through on both nights. Our 50A utilities worked well, water pressure was fine. We scanned 28 digital OTA stations, mainly from Naples. We bought the Basic Wifi and got a solid 4 Mbps up/4 Mbps down. Dog run is medium sized and well cared for. Pool looked inviting and clean, but we did not use it in our short stay. The laundry also, but the central facility looked large, new and clean with nice lounge area with a large flatscreen TV. We understand Sanctuary was recently (Dec 2014) reopened under new ownership and refreshed as a large RV park accomodating the largest rigs. Would not hesitate to stop here again when visiting The Keys. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Publix and Diesel fuel station are just down the highway on the way in/out from I75. We had breakfast at Teri's Diner, 2 miles down Bonita Beach Rd at Imperial Pkwy. Excellent food at reasonable prices.

We have mixed feelings about this place. It has great potential, but needs a little more to make it worth while. We checked in on a Thursday afternoon and there were three people working at the check-in counter. We were assigned a pull-through site. These sites are very long, but narrow and with hookups toward one end which forced everybody to pull to the front of the site in order to hook-up, and so that the door opened to the concrete patio rather than on to grass. The site was gravel. Although reasonably well kept, the sites could use a little landscaping between them to offer a little more privacy, or sense of space.

The bathroom/laundry was clean and there where a lot of washers and dryers - but only about half of them actually work! Some had out-of-order labels, but my wife had to load/unload two un-labelled and not working ones before she found one that was operational. The pool and pool area are very nice.

We were promised the wifi would work "tomorrow" - but it never did. There is cable hook-up, but it also doesn't work.

We put trash out to be picked up, as instructed, it was still there a day later. The containers for dog poop were overflowing the day we arrived and were still not emptied when we left three days later!

There was nobody in the office on the weekend. In all the place needs attention to detail. It seems odd to have three people in the office, but nobody at the weekend and there were no groundskeepers/maintenance people in evidence. Trash wasn't picked up, no wifi or cable. Perhaps spending a little more on the campsites and a little less on office staff would be a good idea. We had high hopes for this facility but left very disappointed. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The Clubhouse was beautiful. Great curb appeal and interior. That is where it ended. The streets are very narrow and not well maintained. We could not even get to the original site assigned--the road had the asphalt torn out and piled up. Luckily we went around in our tow vehicle. Very few campers in the park so we were able to pick out the site we wanted and could get into. The receptionist was helpful. The park could be very nice but they have a lot of work to do. Our site was level but had erosion around the perimeter. We would not return for a stay. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The main office building is very nice and well kept. The park itself doesn't seem to be well maintained in the summer months for off season. We traveled with friends and both sites were covered in red fire ants that covered the concrete pad, we had to keep moving our feet to avoid bites and not stay in one spot too long. There was dog poop not picked up by a neighbor camper that was under our RV, next to our truck, and on our site in general. We were told we could not bring our Doberman with us to see someone else there with a very large pitbull/mastiff mix. Went to the office Saturday morning and it was locked and closed no way to get hold of anyone. The pool was nice and newer outdoor furniture. Smoking was supposed to be not allowed in common areas however people were drinking and smoking as they sat in the pool. Nothing was being enforced, as I said in the summer months. Maybe season is different. Overall nice park and pool but the other things were not so great. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Very peaceful camping for 5 nights. The reservation process was very easy and confirmation was received immediately via email. The staff was very friendly and greeted us courteously and professionally. The campground had more units than I expected for this time of year, which indicated to me that people were satisfied with campground. The grounds were immaculate; lawn very manicured, and sites were very clean despite the falling leaves. I noticed one morning that the ground maintenance staff was using blowers around the cement slab and sites. We truly enjoyed the pool; very clean, warm, and it was a pleasure to see the beautiful landscape. The restrooms and baths were roomy and clean. They must have about 30 washers/dryers and although I didn't use them, the manager had explained the fees, which I felt were reasonable at $10 week or $28 monthly for unlimited use. The nightly rate of $45 and the manager honored my being a Good Sam member with a 10% discount. Very close to I-75, shops, farmers market and excellent restaurants. Two beautiful beaches around 15 minutes away, Bonita Beach and Barefoot Beach; I tried both, loving the white sand and clean water (despite the news warnings). We could see some 4th of July fireworks from a park close by. My toy poodle loved the fenced-in area, and they have doggie bags around park. There were several families with children. Our site was nice and shady. The cafe is not opened in the summer. The interior roads were marked with signs and arrows to indicate 'One Way' - We plan to visit the Sanctuary RV Resort again. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the nearby beaches & enjoy shopping in town. There's a country restaurant past I-75 with delicious food and fresh produce.Truly enjoyed eating at a diner right off Bonita Beach Road and S.Tamiami Trail. Had a great lunch at a Tex-Mex restaurant. What a treat to visit a Habitat ReStore; great prices, great items; right off Bonita Beach Road. Bonita Springs is a beautiful and sort of quiet area. Traffic was good and drivers were courteous.

This is our second year here. We discovered the park last year and booked for three months for this winter. We are booked once more for the next winter season. It is a popular place for snowbirds. During the months of Jan and Feb it is pretty much fully occupied by people staying for two or three months or more. The large pull through spots are pretty much all taken during these months by people staying for the season. So it can be difficult to get a large pull through site for a shorter stay. The price is the same for all of the sites which do vary in size and may be back ins as opposed to pull through. The people here are great. Beautiful club house and this season we had fine dining at the on site café. The bathrooms look to be just fine but we use our own facilities. The laundry is great! You pay a flat reasonable fee of $10 per week or $28 per month and do all of the laundry you want to do. Dog friendly and have to say that the vast majority of dog owners this winter were responsible in their and their pet's behavior. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We booked a pull-through site and received conformation for a pull-through site 11 months before our arrival. Found out 2 days before that we did not get a pull-through site. The small back-in site they were putting us on would not even come close to fitting my 32ft bumper hitch toy hauler. The staff in the office would not even look at my confirmation receipt of a promised pull-through site. Found them to be rude and uncaring. We had to head 4 hr north to Ocala. We were and still are angry with what happened to us so we would definitely not recommend this park.

On the up side the park looked very well laid out with large pull-through lots, all new washrooms, laundry, pool, and clubhouse and lots of things going on in the park to help entertain you. Too bad we did not get to enjoy it with our friends that were staying there.

The park seems understaffed as several waited at check-in while the one staff member was on the grounds tending to a problem. There is little room to park when checking in as you are stopped in a parking lot, blocking cars of other guests. There was a lot of rain and wind during our stay, and while there was standing water immediately after the storms, it drained over time. Most impressive was how fast the streets were cleared of leaves and branches after a heavy storm. The sites are more spacious than many Florida parks, making for a pleasant stay. Beautiful park with very helpful staff. Pool is absolutely gorgeous! Nice community center with many daily activities. New travertine tile laundry and showers. Showers are private... One person at a time, no divider curtain or sharing. Laundry is paid at front desk, weekly or monthly rate on the honor system. Dogs are loved here, and have 2 areas just for them. The resort even has a restaurant that is at LEAST 4 star quality, with different themed dinners every Friday and an incredible Sunday brunch. We already made reservations for next year! Sites are on level gravel with cement patios. Some sites are vey nice; some not so. We reserved - and pre-paid for - a pull-through site but were given a back-in site (with no pull-thru's available). It was only through the goodness of neighbors who moved their cars that we were able to get into our site. On the plus side, it was quiet. The streets are narrow; we were able to get through, but barely. WIFI was if-y and we had no cable. The pool looked nice; we didn't use it tho. It was too expensive of a park to have a not-so-good site, no cable, if-y (almost non-existent) WIFI, no fire/BBQ, or anything. Probably would not stay here again. A friend recommended this park. It is only two years old. Roads are paved and sites are crushed rock. Spaces are quite large with plenty of room for "toad" and slides. Very nice restaurant on site. Nice heated pool. We would definitely stay here again. Only down side is too many trees. Our satellite had occasional problems. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We just arrived on December 1st and booked for months of December and January. As others have stated, park is being renovated and what is done is nice. Oversized spaces, staff friendly when in residence but when closed no one returns calls or is available when we were trying to check on availability. Presently only one shower but 3 new ones waiting to be finished, hopefully next week. Huge laundry but not free, as previously stated. May have been but now $10/week or $28/month which is rather high being we wouldn't use it that often. Rate based on monthly rate, discounted for Dec as not complete. Nice pool and privately owned café. We camped at Sanctuary RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We love it here. It's convenient to family for us as well as outlet shopping, beaches and the airport. They have made major improvements since our stay here last year. All the sites have been completed with sod and shell/gravel. Each has a large cement pad and picnic table. The sites are easily accessible and spacious. Unfortunately there is no cable TV but you can get local stations through your aerial antenna or you can rent a satellite box if your stay is longer than a month. There is no lake, fishing, kayaking or mini golf. They cater to pet lovers, which we like and their pool is excellent. They've added two shower houses, a bunch of lounge chairs at the pool area and a new fenced area for small dogs. There is a cafe on site and a lovely gift shop with local artists displayed. They also seem to have incorporated activities with sign-up sheets for a variety. Tonight was a movie showing on the open green but they have basketball, pickle ball, horseshoes and more. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable especially for the area. Hope it stays that way! We were here for 3 weeks and would come back again.
