Great staff, friendly people, lots of amenities and participation with RVers and full timers in Mobile park. Very nice pool, hot tub. Pool room, library, horseshoes, pickle ball, patanque, shuffleboard, bingo. RV portion of park was nice but a little tight to navigate and most sites were crowned asphalt with cement patios. Partially shaded by nice big leafy trees. Wood shop. On the river with an additional pavilion for outings and picnics. Tight parking for 45' MH and car, most people have to park side ways and on the grass just to stay on the site. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night while heading south to Fort Myers. The $19 rate was a Tampa RV Show special. The normal nightly winter rate is $38. There is an area in the back of the park where RV's are placed. You have to drive through all the park model areas to get to it. It is tight getting around. You have to be careful!! This appears to be a snowbird park with little coming and going of transient traffic.

We had a narrow pull through on an the end of a row by the maintenance shed.

The park was adequate for our needs for the night. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Majority of park is made up of park models and RV's mixed together. The RV sites in this section are on grass with a separate paved driveway; the patio in this area are of various sizes and locations and may or may not align with your steps and awnings. Getting into these spaces can be challenging for larger rigs and there are some size limitations. There is a pull through area with paved pads and more consistent patios, however more road noise in this section. Nice pool and plenty of activities. We stayed monthly and rate was $1190 jumping to $1250 for 2017. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for an overnight stop on our way further south. The site was sloped and unlevel from front to the back. Entry roads were very narrow for maneuvering. Most units are seasonal RV's or park models. Verizon mifi worked well in this park. We were in a site near the road and had some highway noise. We would stop again for an overnight stop. We winter here. Jan. Thru April. Love the park. Many activities and no reason for boredom. The management provides monthly, "Happy Hours." In the club house if bad weather, on The Island if nice. Excellent pool, clubhouse facilities. Horseshoe's, shuffleboard, etc. Lots of French Canadians winter here. Over half the park is Park Models and permanent trailers. If staying short term, ask for a Pull thru. These sites are easy in and out full hookups. Rest of park can be difficult to navigate. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here for a rally and got a great October rate of 200.00 plus electricity. The park has many park models, well kept and landscaped. The staff was very friendly. We used their meeting room for several of our functions, great layout. Laundry was good, as well as pool. Our site was not very level, but we could make do with boards. We were in a 38' Motorhome and stayed two weeks. I would recommend and would return myself. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is easy to get to coming off Hwy 75. It is a challange to navigate thru the park if you have a big rig. The sites are good, with good water pressure and amperage. It is an excellent over nighter. I would stay here again if in the area.. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 7 days to visit the area . This park is mostly park models with some rv sites. The residents I met were very nice. The site we were given was adequate and was a pull-thru very near the bath house. Roads were all paved and in good repair and the site was paved with a cement slab. Employees we dealt with were very friendly and knowledgeable of the park and the surrounding area. The only real draw back was lack of cable for stays as short as ours. But there were several over the air tv stations that came in nicely. Our rate includes 4 of the days at 1/2 off due to Passport America being honored up till 1 January. The park was near I-75 and was very easy to get to and to navigate in. We will stay here again if in this area. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

When making reservation ask for the pull-thru sites. These are all very easy to get in and out. They have some other sites scattered around the park mixed in with the park models and most would be very difficult to back in.

Overall Rating:

You need to pull through the gate and straight ahead to park at the office for registration. There isn't a sign visible from the entrance telling you that. The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Fortunately, we decided to disconnect the TOAD before going to our site because some of the turns were a bit tight for our 36 footer. Maintenance trucks blocked part of the road so getting to our site was a bit tricky. It is doable and the workers will move their trucks if necessary. (We could have made the turns in our 40 footer so it is big rig friendly, just use care.) The sights are blacktop with some grass but mostly dirt. They are very narrow and our tires just fit on it from side to side. We had no trouble leveling but I wouldn't have been able to put our awning out all the way because of a close tree. Even though the campground is fairly close to a major highway, there is very little traffic noise. We would stay here again if visiting the Bradenton area. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Nice quiet park. The March 2014 review was right on the mark, convenient and quiet. The park RV sites were fairly empty of campers so we had lots of room. Level sites. WiFi was free to us and OK. bath/rest rooms were older but spotless. We stayed 2 weeks and would return again. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Rate is based on 3-monthly rate. Electric and cable extra. WiFi included. This is an older RV park where we spent two months. The sites are generally really a good size and many have shade trees. Roughly 50% RVs and 50% installed homes. 4 laundry rooms means no waiting. Pool is spotless. Gym is well equipped with modern stuff, as is wood shop. If you want group activities, there is always something going on like bridge, crib, shuffleboard, horseshoes, petoncles, supper parties, choir, band, etc etc. The island is a tremendous asset, with trails, lots of waterfront, a screened pavilion. The park is about 1 mile from I-95, and much further from railway tracks and flight paths, so nice and quiet. Big box retail is close. Beautiful Bradenton Beach and Cortez are about 20 mins away. Staff are very pleasant and responsive. First visit is always a shot in the dark, but we liked it well enough to rebook for next year. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Would have rated much higher if we had stayed in pull-through area but we stayed in the 'standard' area. If you are over 30 feet, DON'T.The sites are in amongest park models and are tight. The pull-through (new) area is very nice for a few bucks more. Clubhouse, pool area, shuffle board areas are great. Laundry is good. We would stay here again in the pull-through area! This is the second campground that we stayed in since we bought our RV. We checked in and found out after the fact that the pool was closed. Would have been nice if they would have told us when we called. Only three RV's in the short term area, most are long term park models. Internet is as additional charge as with cable. Looks like it could be a nice place in the winter for long term snowbirds but wasn't even close to what we expected. Know to make sure about the pool and the internet next time. We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful CG. The roads are blacktop. The pool/hot tub was clean and warm. The pool showers had hot water. The site was gravel and not quite level but easily corrected with jacks. The sewage was not threaded and would not hold the connection tight. The no-seeum's were plentiful at the 90 degree temps. The 50A electric handled both A/C, hot water and laundry. Price reflects Passport America discount. We stayed 3 nights on site DD2. This site is close to the trash collection, but we had no smell. We would recommend exiting this site to the right. We will be staying here again! We camped at Horseshoe Cove RV Resort in a Motorhome.
