Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

It's a super convenient location and some parts of the park are very pretty. We stayed here a couple of years ago at Christmas time. It was full then, not so during the summer. Everyone is friendly. I feel the area we stayed in could definitely use some sprucing up. Our picnic table was in bad shape, the site marker was down and tossed in the back, the area just looked a bit run down. There is an extra daily "resort" fee and while it is only 4.00 I had to wonder what it was for. You pay extra for wifi and cable if you want it. I felt a bit like a second class citizen for using Passport America. The dog park had been improved from our last visit but it's still a bit rough for dogs to get any exercise. I don't know what other surface could be used though. It is well shaded. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The check-in experience was good. We were shown sites that we could choose from. Since we were using the Passport America discount of $18.50 per night, we had to stay in the standard sites right next to I-75. It was noisy with the constant traffic day and night. The site was asphalt but it is very aged and crumbled. Electric, water, and sewer service was fine. There are some nicer sites on the north side of the resort that surround the lake. It is a little quieter in those locations too. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Decided to stay another week, and Encore let us stay at the same discounted price. Signed up for the discounted price at a RV show. We are not Thousand Trail members. Many activities in the large club house. Had a good fish fry while we were there. Second laundry is OK, but could be updated. Stay in office very friendly and helpful. A alligator lives in the lake. Price includes a $3.00 a day resort fee. Residents very friendly. Offered up their golf cart if we needed it. Lots of traffic inside the park. Can hear the noise from the freeway, but tuned it out after a while. Wifi at the office and club house. We will go back to this park. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Well, we're batting 3 for 3 with Encore parks. The price to value ratio here is outrageous - the price is 2.25 times higher than anything we've paid here in Florida this winter and our site is horrible. Although I did expect to pay more because we're closer to the coast, I didn't expect the poor site conditions.

We arrived in the rain and the site was a mud pit - standing water and slushy ground. Backing in was tricky because of a tree stump on the inside of the turn. Our site backs up to I-75 and slopes down toward the back. I had to place 2x12s under the rear jacks and they got pushed into the mud and one broke cross grain! We can't get as level as I'd like. The area in front of the RV where we have to park the car looks like a couple of kids went 4-wheeling in it.

We asked to be relocated, but nothing was available. All things considered, I'd rate this as no more than a $30/night site. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park provides access to the Bradenton beach areas, which are about 20 minutes away to the west. Just off I75 and the rear of the park is next to the freeway. Little noise was heard during our visit and we were parked in the front of the park. Many full timers in the park, but no trash of visible issues that were notable. Overall condition of the park was average, but it did appear to a little older. Power and water was good in the park. Did not use Wifi during our visit. The parking spots would not be called spacious, but I have plenty of space to park our car dolly and auto in the same area. There was a pool (did not use) and there appeared to be a security gate, but was open each time we left/returned. We would return again. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were there for 5 months this winter-December -May. Park setting is lovely. Nice lake in the middle. Our site was on the water and spacious. Picnic table was in disrepair. Very dusty, tons of ants loaded with mole hills. No insect or vermin control. On 2 occasions we were given the park "rules". Interesting that the seasonals were the ones breaking them (fencing in yards, loose cats, sites in poor conditions etc.) Small laundry facility on our end of park was shabby. The bathroom and shower there was dirty and in need of a shower curtain or door. Many sites were rundown. Many times saw 4 or 5 young kids on a golf cart speeding around. Staff generally friendly. Very little if any security. We went away for a couple of nights and someone pulled into our space (we still had stuff on it and it was paid for). Pool areas very nice. Many activities to attend. Very close to 75 and it is LOUD all the time. We didn't get used to that. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Close to outlets. 20 min ride to Sarasota. More to do there. Fairly inexpensive but really needs some sprucing up. 5 month stay was too long.

Got our discount at a RV show. The first site was terrible, but they changed us right away, without a problem. Second site very nice. There was dog stuff and trash on the first site. Lots of no seeums in the park is the reason I only give it a 7 rating. Park is near everything you want. Residents very friendly. Stayed 1 week. Park has many activities. We spent two weeks at this park in March. The rate shown above was the off-season rate with good sam discount; we paid this amount for the last 2 days of our stay. For the first 12 days, we paid the in-season rate, which was $64 with the good sam discount. We have spent many weeks at this park over the last 2 years as it is convenient to family who live in Bradenton. Winter Quarters Manatee is clean and well-maintained. Staff are friendly as are the many snowbirds who frequent the park. The park includes a nice, well-shaded dog area and two swimming pools. Winter Quarters Manatee is close to I-95 and thus some of the sites are noisy but since the park is so big we have never had a problem getting a site that was away from the freeway and thus much quieter. Park is not far from Walmart and other shopping centers. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed "off season" park was at least 3/4 empty. We had a very relaxing and quiet stay. Management had a "whatever you'd like" attitude that was appreciated. I had pre-selected a particular site on a previous drive through and although it is their policy to assign sites it was no problem. It was very hot, as Florida is this time of year, but the power stayed constant throughout our visit. Bugs were no worse than any other place around here at the moment. The few residents present were friendly, but basically left us alone. This is a nice park, and having the facilities practically to yourself is kind of neat. We will return. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Above average RV park with about 50 park models. Many long term residents. Facilities are very good and in good repair. However, sites can be quite narrow and the site we had fell off at the back but we leveled easily. We were close to the interstate, but we were not bothered by the traffic noise as much as the "no-see-ums" biting us when we walked our dogs. This RV resort is anything but a resort. There is more trash in this park than there is at the city dump. Not only that, dog waste liters the streets. I pulled into my site and stepped in dog waste, and then I noticed it in my tires. I was ready to leave. You are about 100 yards from I-75, and the noise gets unbearable at times. The resort (joke) has about 500 sites, with over half being permanent (campers), so you can see why this place can get trashy and residents thinking they own the place. The people are very friendly, but some of the staff need to find another line of work. This is my first and last time here. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Highway noise from I-75. Oriented more towards seasonal owners than transients. Nice clubhouse, pool, and hot tub, otherwise park feels a bit dated. Access in the park OK for a larger RV. Rate reflects a week's stay. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There are a few standard sites available for short stays. We had a choice of about 6 or 7. All of our choices were within 200 feet of I-75. Night time road noise is bothersome. We stayed 7 nights. You have to pay extra for internet connectivity, not worth the $16.95 we paid for the week. We had pre-school children playing outside unsupervised on the asphalt outer drive. The campground did not have a Resort atmosphere to it. We will not stay here again, as it doesn't fit our campground style, plus it was too expensive. This is a mixed use park, primarily manufactured homes with RV sites sprinkled among them. First, the good. The residents of the park are very friendly. Lots of activities in season with one or more activity directors. The park surrounds a small lake, and the walk around the park is about 1.1 miles, making for a pleasant walk or bike ride. Park is close to a Walmart, Cracker Barrel, and just a few miles from Anna Maria Island. The bad: Sites are small and unlevel, even the "elite" sites on the lake. No-see-ums are so thick that you cannot sit out and enjoy your site. Standard sites are very close to I-75, mostly dark and gloomy, and the highway noise is aggravating if not worse. Both laundries had broken machines (even the small secondary laundry was down to one washer) which were not repaired in the 2 weeks we were there. A horde of screaming children took over the smaller pool (I counted 14 -- mind you, this is a very small pool) on both days I attempted to enjoy it, with virtually no parental supervision, and no lifeguard. Evidently there are a number of young families living year round at the park. There are several other parks to choose from in the area; we will look elsewhere. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park brochure now calls itself the "Manatee Encore RV Resort, a Premier RV Resort in Bradenton, FL". "Premier" is a bit of a stretch. Upon arrival we were escorted on a golf cart through the park and allowed to choose our site. Many of the available sites had issues with pads which were cracked, heaved, not level and in our case a little short for door placement over the patio. We finally chose a site on the north end of the park with a bayou behind us. The access road was wide enough to accommodate an easy back-in and the sites had decent width so you weren't on top of your neighbor. After plugging in, our power management system faulted on the 50 amp circuit. The 30 amp connection worked just fine. Park personnel responded quickly, diagnosed a problem with the 50 amp breaker and repaired it promptly. We had to treat a number of fire ant hills around the site. Noise from I-95 was not noticeable inside the RV but there was a din when outside. There was also a very inconsiderate person in the park who on several occasions did not have the common courtesy for their neighbors to pick up after their dog. After we inadvertently tracked a load into the RV we had to constantly check our shoes. The real disadvantage to our site location was the no-see-ums which showed up late every afternoon through sunset and drove us inside the RV. The people we met in the park were very open and engaging. The park had a full calendar of events and we participated in a number of activities. The main rec building was newer construction, nicely landscaped and located alongside the lake. We used the pool and hot tub regularly and their library was a great place to access the free Wi-Fi. Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the people although we would try another park the next time we come back to Bradenton. We camped at Winter Quarters Manatee RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
