2 Parks near Cape Canaveral, Florida
Mar 2015 - $44.00
Location is the best feature of Jetty Park. The campground is fenced off from the rest of the park but with many gates with entry code locks for campers. Walk thru the gate and you're in the beach parking lot, just a short walk to miles of sandy Atlantic Ocean beach. There is a fishing pier, too (no license needed on pier), as well as a fairly large playground, and a refreshment stand that offers a decent piña colada for less than $5. The park is just south of the Kennedy Space Center, separated by a narrow shipping channel that large cruise ships come & go through almost daily - four went out in our 1st hour at the park. Sites are pretty tight in the area closest to the beach. Not that many trees and shade was limited for most. We were there in mid-March, and it was still mostly "snowbirds" in large rigs with towed vehicles, some parked cheek by jowl. The area further from the beach by the office/store gives you a bit more room. There are also 20+ sites in the beach area outside the fenced in campground that are water-only, and not much more than parking lot spaces. We watched a nighttime Kennedy Space Center rocket launch from the beach, check the launch schedule if you visit. The campground store is pretty well stocked, and not outrageously priced. Staff was helpful and efficient. The [mens] restrooms could be cleaner. Sand is a big problem at beachfront parks, but I've seen others do better. Some broken hooks in shower stalls, too. WiFi (Tengo) was rather slow and intermittent. I eventually opted to use my cellphone's personal hotspot (via AT&T) and that was much better. Although there a few things they could do a little better, I hope to camp here again. - NoVa RT

The park is clean, well kept, very spacious.Friendly staff..they do have the worse phone service I have ever encountered. You can never speak to anyone, leave a message several times before you get a phone call back. I guess when we made our reservations it was a busy time of year for them, we got their last available site which happened to be a partial hook up, better than nothing. The site was nice and spacious, each site had a grill and picnic table. We will stay there again. Ours was a Back in site. - T-Ster

Unique site, on the beach near Cape Canaveral. Short walk to beach , and near cruise ship terminals. Tons of nice restaurants and bars nearby.
Sites are sandy and somewhat close together, but the above features compensate for that.
When you make a reservation, ask for one of the more remote sites away from crowds. - Steven Podnos
